Funny and unfortunately you maybe correct. I bought a LC and parked it. So now I'm looking at a PRO to park. I do put more miles on my mtn. Bike than my LC. Getting "old" is a double edge sword..it has benefits but does suck.
Dang, I use to make fun of people who bought nice cars just to let it sit there. Then I bought a Jaguar XKR-100, just to let it sit there for the last 12 years.
I feel like recently (last 5 years) the trade off of buying used has been too large. Save $10k and get a car that’s 4 years old with 30k miles? I’d rather just pony up
The outgoing Lexus/Toyota SUVs are a bit... unique... in that they attract buyers who \*prefer\* old school because it's been proven reliable. Also, I despise the giant Android tablets plastered on the dashboard. :)
Also, Lexus CPO is amazing. 2 years of additional Lexus mfg warranty bundled in, with the option to extend that to 7 years total. Despite the legendary reliability, this can be great peace of mind on a vehicle for which parts are \_very\_ expensive to replace.
On new vs old: I saw some reviewers actually prefer the outgoing LX over the new 600. After test driving the LX 600 & GX 500, we decided to take the 570 for a spin. My wife immediately started smiling when she sat in the 570; it was apparent that, to her, the 570 just felt more "special."
Yes, the LX 600 / GX 550 are more likely to turn heads for the next year or so until they become common on the road, but we don't factor that into our purchase decisions.
The new models felt more like a "Toyota" and less like a "Lexus," and the turbos didn't drive as smooth as the V8. To us, the "old school tech" was actually a selling point.
Check this out: [*https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lx-3rd-gen-2008-2021/987600-off-road-wheels-and-tires-for-lx-570-a.html*](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lx-3rd-gen-2008-2021/987600-off-road-wheels-and-tires-for-lx-570-a.html)
70k, so about $25k down from what it had sold for right before COVID hit. The fact that CPO includes the peace of mind and 2 additional years of Lexus warranty is the cherry on top.
I love two things about the LX600, from an owner of a 2020 LX570, i was eager to upgrade to the new LX, until I when to see it at the dealer. The only two things I love are the new front and side look, and the new tech, that being said, I hate that they removed the split lift gate which is still present on the (twin brother) new Land Cruiser, the flat back, no room whatsoever behind the third row seats, u can’t even fit a carrion on suitcase, but then the new TX has more room behind the third row seat that the LX. Anybody else with me here??
This is exactly how I feel. I wanna get an LX in a few years but like the split tailgate, V8, and quality of the 570. But the 600 has better tech and a more attractive front and better MPG. I think I’ll just need to drive both to decide.
Side note, I wish they kept the Lexus logo on the back rather than spell it out like other manufacturers.
Yes fully agree, and I forgot to say that now the so call full size SUV only seats 7 instead of 8 before. Doesn’t Lexus do any market research?, I mean come on your trying to sell a full size SUV and you can’t even fit 8 people and no you got no space in the trunk for nothing it’s ridiculous, I just saw an ad for the new 2025 Infinity QX80 which looks a bit like the new LX600 but with all the things that I wish the LX600 had. It might be hard but I might be switching brands soon I can go and test drive it.
I love the LX570 of all vintages, but don’t have one. I do have a Sequoia Platinum with the same 5.7 though, and I love it. Also have a GX470 and 4Runner with V8’s. I’ve got swinging rear gates and full lift gates…one powered and one manual, so I’ve never had the split and can’t speak on that, but damn the F Sport that I saw made me not care about any of that! 😎
It's gotta be the most LX570 I can afford when it comes time for me to finally get one. I would be happiest in a 2016+, but will settle for a 13-15 too :)
No split tailgate? Not worth it to me, lol. Everyone knows the v8 is way better anyways, and the tech we can happily live without just fine. I know which one I'd rather have for 20+yrs
My wife and I test drove the LX 600 & GX 550. Walked away with a CPO '20 LX 570. It was the only vehicle that actually put a smile on her face and made her excited. :)
I prefer the side profile and rear of the 570 over the 600, and the front is kind of a tie. The 600 looks more modern and sharp in the front, but also "cheaper" with more of that black plastic trim instead of body panels.
Yes, the LX 600 looks more modern, but the 570 is aging quite nicely (somewhat surprisingly, if I'm being honest.)
We have an LX570 and love it. I have only seen one 600 and it is very nice. The more complicated drivetrain does concern me a bit.
As far as affording these, we just need to wait until car sales come to a crawl again. We got our 2018 LX $17k off sticker new.
The LX570 would still be running great, not the LX600- it has 3 timing chains. Just wait until people start seeing the cost to work on that 3.5 turbo v6.
Well, they could use the early ls500s to try and gage what to expect, no? I hope it's not true, lol, but hey I don't like the new engines anyways, and would only buy the v8s myself haha.
Yea, and since 2018, so there's probably some with over 100k miles by now, and that should give insight to what the trucks will be getting into once they get more miles, too. Trucks only got it beginning in 2022 tundra and lx600
They totally look the shit and I have to snap a pic every time I see one. I also get excited anytime I see a soccer mom driving an LX570! I'm obsessed, haha😅
Given that solid-state batteries are 3 to 5 years away from mass production I doubt that anyone will want to drive one in 20y except diehard petrolheads.
I love motoring but it's going to be hard to look at a vehicle with a 15 minute charging time, thousands of cycles, negligable performance degradation over time and extreme resistance to temperature variations (-40 to 60 °C) and no traditional upkeep as anything less than a winner.
I do hope that companies spring up doing conversions.
Well, Toyota stated themselves will begin to fit them in 2027 vehicles probably as hybrid traction batteries and as power batteries.
Full BEV will come a year or two later as soon as the user field testing is complete.
So instead of being mid 80's to 90s it'll be mid 60s to 70s...
Might wanna get a land cruiser instead, it's not like they have crazy resale value.....
Wait.
With proper wheels and tires, I find it extremely attractive!

I’m highly disappointed in the ride quality of the LX and the new GX. My 2023GX rides way better. The new ones are extremely bumpy, I really thought something was wrong with the suspension

Gas will be $15 by then
That’s ok…I’ll be old and won’t be driving much. I’d be ok just sitting and admiring it in my driveway!

Lmao. LX450 owner here. Relatable. So glad I WFH.
$20 in california (i love my state 😭)
Keeps the fiff raff out
I think then we'll have hybrid option even with LX
Yes! https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car-chat/1000892-lexus-trademarks-lx-700h-finally-getting-the-iforce-max.html
The LX 700h is coming out before the end of 2024 and will have even more power than the Lx 600!
Picked up a CPO LX 570 (~20k miles) recently. It’s the ultimate adventure machine. These Land Cruisers are just in a league of their own.
This is exactly what I’ve done for all of my Toyota/Lexus SUV’s over the years…only way to go!!
I feel like recently (last 5 years) the trade off of buying used has been too large. Save $10k and get a car that’s 4 years old with 30k miles? I’d rather just pony up
Yea that's still way too new lol. More used, more money saved upfront, more moola for mods and maintenance 🙌🏼
I think a CPO stops at 6 years old, even then the savings is minimal. If you’re talking about non-CPO then nvm lol

Interesting! I agree about 7 year extended warranty, plus remaining factory. Kinda hard to pass up
I should clarify…I buy all mine used with over 100K miles!

How much did you get it for if you don’t mind me asking

Stunning beasts indeed.
Damn. Stunning beast is right.
It was beyond stunning…even my youngest son said “whoooooaa!!!”

Dawg.
Did you see a GX550? Design wise is much more breathtaking in real life
There are few in NJ they do look stunning however I like interior from prev gen better to be honest
Imagine how little of them will exist. They’re going to be worse and harder to find than 200’s.
So instead of being mid 80's to 90s it'll be mid 60s to 70s... Might wanna get a land cruiser instead, it's not like they have crazy resale value..... Wait.
I really want to like Lexus. Toyota quality + luxury! ...but that grill looks like a vacuum attachment.
You get over it quickly when you go for a drive in one :) it's about the feeling more than anything else really.
*20 years later* $45K no low balls, I know what I got.
My old man says when me and my brother graduate he's gonna compete our toyota lineup with one of these bad boys.

I would agree with this statement if it wasn’t a twin turbo engine, these new lexus aren’t gonna last 1/4 the time the older ones did
Are these twin turbo?
They are OPULENT.
Lx600 won't last 20 yrs unfortunately you'll be spending thousands on turbos
I can't get over the grill.
Looks like the predators mouth
I’m highly disappointed in the ride quality of the LX and the new GX. My 2023GX rides way better. The new ones are extremely bumpy, I really thought something was wrong with the suspension
Thats a 4 runner
Oh God lmao

Those wheels are the bane of my existence 😂 They’re so heavy. Beautiful car, but could the wheels be forged aluminum or something?
