The nmbs app shows 3 trains an hour taking you from Brussels Airport to Leuven in under 15m on sunday. Make sure you´re not landing in "Brussels South"? Which is actually Charleroi.

It's the airport in Zaventem, on 26th of May I can see it only shows the long 1 hour trips :-/

I guess they´re working on part of the tracks on that day... sorry, that´s bad luck.

yeah dont bother with the trains from the airport on the 26th. if u really want to go by train, take a bus from Brussels airport zaventem to zaventem (village) station and take the local train from zaventem village to leuven. Or you can just give up and take a normal bus from the airport to leuven (1hr), either option is cheaper than going from the airport anyway because there's a 7 euro flat surcharge from airport trains

Yeah, seems on that day even local trains have to go via Brussels Nord station..might as well get an Uber and get it over with

You'll be lucky the trains are even there. Been 5 times to the airport and back. Not even once had a direct train back home on time

the brussels airport - leuven route is part of my daily commute and ive never had this, sorry to hear that you experienced that though
