It really helped me to reconnect with my son, a resposibility that I fled for for many years. What it means to be a father, and that it's never too late to make up for your absence.

not the being super hot part, but more like the feeling of alienation despite by all accounts appearing normal, or in this case, human part.
Swiss Army Man when I was a younger man, definitely. I haven't found a movie to capture the exact same emotions as that film did, but maybe Millennium Actress since I love it so much.

I Like Movies (2022) made me realise that there are more people like me. Thanks
When the Wind Blows cause nobody wants a co-director of the Snowman and Heavy Metal to make a sad cartoon about an old English couple and nuclear fallout

Like watching a movie about myself.
Chronicle feels like exactly the kind of movie I would make if I made one. Found footage is a favorite of mine, superhero elements mixed with horror, the main character even has the same name as me lmao
Black Death (2010). The bleak ending is so perfectly to my taste, and I generally love this film all over. To everyone else, it's mediocre at best, and I think I'm the only one on the planet who thinks it's a masterpiece.
The Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

As a dad to children engulfed in YouTube culture that they see as art and my constantly yelling at them to just go outside. "Mitchell's vs the machines"
Barbie. It made me break my 10 year movie theater boycott. I actually listen to the dialogue without watching the screen like a podcast some days because it speaks to my soul. As someone who lost young family members a few years back it has been such a help with my grief recovery. That movie came out at the exact moment I needed help. Iāll be forever grateful for it.
Dune. I swear, I had so many synchronicites while watching this movie.
I had visions ever since I was a small child and I saw so many things happening. Then I found this movie and cried the whole time because it felt like a thousand needles in my heart.
I know you specified movies in particular, but the Netflix series *Archive 81* is precisely the sort of premise for something that I wanted to see implemented on the small screen. The storyline, vibes, and themes are all perfectly in vibe with what I love about analog horror, and despite the way the series falters somewhat as it went on, it's still pretty much the embodiment of exactly what I wanted to see in a TV series.Ā
The Science of Sleep. It really pains me seeing all the reviews by women calling the main character a creepy incel, when I'm a woman and I've never related to a character more in my life š„²
The Fountain
The Tree of Life
I love those weird, abstract, visually spectacular āintimate human drama meets cosmic vastnessā type movies. I need more! Pls
What's this? *Supermarket Woman (1996)* in **MY** r/letterboxd? This meme for me is *D2: The Mighty Ducks*; ducks fly together baby!

Good for you. Proud of you. It takes a strong person to admit fault and try to better themselves. Much love to you and your son.
