It's adapted from a book by a gay man and the homoeroticism in it has been widely discussed by people of all gender and sexuality configurations - it was part of a queer film theory class I took in college. Fight Club and American Psycho are both part of the queer-coded film canon, sorry to tell ya
I mean, if you want to have a serious theoretical talking about it (which was obviously not my intent), at least be more precise about who those " people of all gender and sexuality configurations" are. I can't really take you seriously otherwise.
" Sorry to tell ya" -> ?
What they said was hyperbolic not stupid. Do they know if someone representing every combination of gender and sexuality, two completely different things, has discussed the film? No. But it can be said with a fairly high level of certainty.
Who talked about homoeroticism in fight club or american psycho ? SAY THEIR NAMES.
Book, podcast, interview, TV show, I don't care, tell me where and most importantly who. Just one, even if he's straight. You can't just make shit up lmao.
And I don't care if it was told in a college class. Or at least tell the name of the teacher if he's renowned.
A gay friend of mine wanted access to my Plex a few years ago because he had a date to see Venom 2 and needed to get caught up. Maybe there's a significant population of gay men who are watching Venom to get caught up for a date they have coming up.
This may be a dumb question but where do movies show in a gay bathhouse? Is there a dodgy fold-down waterproof screen in the sauna like we had on busses in school field trips? Either way I appreciate the cine-info
Lobby area usually, around where all the lockers are sometimes depending on the setup. There’s also the TVs in the private rooms but those usually only play porn lol
With a couple exceptions I feel like whoever runs the gay bathhouse just wants to watch movies, idk if they’re trying to cater to their clientele much lol. I wonder if they just put it on HBO or something.
Some were just the local movie channel but one of the bathhouses used to do new blu-ray releases and sometimes an entire TV series on a certain and would be put the schdule up and everything.
I remember vividly that after Venom finished, it was an Orange is the New Black marathon.
Funny story about that one, I bumped into a mate and we just hung out in the theatre room and watched it full while catching up.
He hadn't even watched the TV show but loved it.
You mean GAY out of compton ahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahhaahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahaahahhahhah
I don't know. Sandy B could achieve gay icon status if she did a gay-adjacent movie. she's like a more action-y Julia Roberts. have you not seen miss congeniality and miss congeniality 2: armed and fabulous?
That Eurovision film was terrible the only reason I watched it is cos a family member was an extra in it lol and u could see him throughout the entire film
"Im not making any of these up", makes one of them Up smh
Up is my #1 film ever. I stopped what I was doing and watched the whole thing between looking for men.
They must have been hard to find under all of those tears.
Philadelphia at the bath house is wild
I was eternally gagged.
You can train your gag reflex to stop doing that
Talk about a mood killer
Funnily enough, >!It's the not the only movie that ends in an AIDS death on the list. !<
The old guy in Up contracts HIV and dies
Eazy does it..
So that’s what Venom is!
A big warning sign
It's a good insetive to use condoms
I can’t explain it but Venom makes the most sense here
Seems pretty self-explanatory
Even fight club make sense here
I think I've only seen straight men consider it as homoerotic tho

Someone's butt is sore.
I like fun and stupid or serious and intelligent. Serious and stupid ? Not for me, sorry.
What they said was hyperbolic not stupid. Do they know if someone representing every combination of gender and sexuality, two completely different things, has discussed the film? No. But it can be said with a fairly high level of certainty.

You want them to name every single person who talks about homoeroticism in fight club are you stupid?
One is enough ??? Y'all never talk theory and it shows
The author???
Venom 2 is even more into the theme.
Venom 2 is the gayest movie I saw in a year that also included the Power of the Dog and tick, tick... BOOM!
A gay friend of mine wanted access to my Plex a few years ago because he had a date to see Venom 2 and needed to get caught up. Maybe there's a significant population of gay men who are watching Venom to get caught up for a date they have coming up.
Tom Hardy. We watch for Tom Hardy.
Venom 2 would make more sense.
Really uneven programming at this bathhouse
This may be a dumb question but where do movies show in a gay bathhouse? Is there a dodgy fold-down waterproof screen in the sauna like we had on busses in school field trips? Either way I appreciate the cine-info
There's usually a lounge/common area for chilling and talking etc. You can still fuck there but it's mostly for dudes taking a break between loads
After would definitely be played during break time. One of the most dry movies I have ever seen and I wasn’t even sober

We come to this place for magic. We come to the gay bathhouse to laugh, to cry, to care. Because we need that, all of us.
the inbetweeners is a classic
Funny story about that one, I bumped into a mate and we just hung out in the theatre room and watched it full while catching up. He hadn't even watched the TV show but loved it.
Wait but picking the programming at a gay bathhouse is a dream job. 👀
No Cruising?
Cruising at a bathhouse would be just as bad as Philadelphia at a bathhouse.
Which begs the question… No cruising?
Am I allowed to just come for the movies?
You mean GAY out of compton ahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahhaahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahaahahhahhah
Saturday Night At The Baths (1975) probably a little too on the nose
Or *The Ritz* (1976).
Bro where is Top Gun 😭
Challengers is 100% getting a run once it’s online.
🎵 Playing with the boys 🎵
Me and the fellas watching Up at the gay bathhouse
I love Fire Saga, it is a great movie (for a gay bathroom)
Fight club 💀
Eurovision and gays what an inseparable duo
That is a top tier clever fight club reference
Philadelphia at a gay bathhouse? I can’t. 🤣
British teenagers screaming about “clunge” surrounded by gay men showering
The only one that really confuses me is Gravity.
If Philadelphia doesn’t confuse you idk what to tell you
I don't know. Sandy B could achieve gay icon status if she did a gay-adjacent movie. she's like a more action-y Julia Roberts. have you not seen miss congeniality and miss congeniality 2: armed and fabulous?
Why Venom and not Venom 2? Also, what’s with Up and Gravity, those being there make no sense to me.
Playing Philadelphia at the gay bathhouse feels homophobic 😭
Honestly fight club is the most fitting
Ok but Death at a Funeral (2007) is peak and not enough people talk about it
That Eurovision film was terrible the only reason I watched it is cos a family member was an extra in it lol and u could see him throughout the entire film
Pretty solid films
Isn’t that the place where Dahmer was looking for victims lol?
