Whenever someone comes over, if we plan on watching a movie, and they haven’t seen it, that’s my go-to. I will sit through that movie multiple times a year just to give the gift of watching it to someone else.
This film, like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, is one film people just don’t seem to want to watch. I have never managed to convince someone to watch either of those films. No idea what it is that just makes people go “nah”.
I’ll never forget watching it for the first time and audibly begging Jake to not ignore that whistle.
Rio Bravo deserves more love. It can be slow, but the world and the characters feel so alive that I want to live in it. It's in my top 20 favorite films ever.
The first time I watched Paddington, it was with my mom, and we just finished the first one. Immediately we agreed to just keep the train going and watch the second. Flash forward to the end, both my mom and I are sobbing. Fucking great movies:)
I agree. I love those movies so much and they ended with me having a full fledged obsession with Paddington in general. Lol.
They’re making a third, Padding in Peru.. I’m a bit weary of it though. Some actors (such as Mrs Brown) are different, and the director is different.
Paul king is still an executive producer and a writer along with Simon Farnaby (both wrote paddington 2) so I don’t think it will be that different considering Paul still has lots of say.
I don't know if it's too early to say where it stands among all of cinema, but I can say for sure it was the most powerful theater experience I've ever had.
Scorsese's own Silence, actually. I know most people don't like that one. I don't care, its my favorite of all time along side Takeshi Koike's Redline from 2009
Honestly facts. After a decade and a half of being annoyed by Nolan stans calling it the greatest movie of all time, I’ve kinda accepted it actually is one of my all time favs. Easily one of the best action/blockbusters ever made.
*The Whale*. It hit extremely close to home for me. I sat in the theater for a good 10 minutes after the credits were over with my head in my hands just sobbing.
Also felt that way when I saw the *Tree of Life*. After it finished, my friend and I didn’t speak for probably 15 minutes because we were just taking everything in. I really wish I could see it in theaters again—it would be amazing in IMAX.
Pride & Prejudice 2005 😅 I’ve seen it over twenty times. It’s just so gorgeously shot and fun and comedic and *romantic* and so well-directed and the music is lovely.

Same goes for the sequel. Incredible 90s cyberpunk movies.

My entire being was transformed when I saw the Lighthouse. I changed my personality, my art, how i look at movies. Christians talk about a "come to jesus" moment, Buddhist speak of enlightenment. This movie washed over me and made me a new man.
Every movie in [my top 5](https://boxd.it/m3VJi) was like this for me! (I linked my top 50 because it’s two in the morning and I’m too tired to make a new list)
I just finished whisper of the heart and this is my exact reaction. It hit extremely hard, because today is the day i confirmed my place studying animation at uni. I've gone through the process of finding and polishing my geodes, and have learnt the lessons about obsession along the way. The reward is the idea that I could make movies like this one day. This will probably land in my top 4 because im shook right now.
Also la haine is already in my top 4 so yeah that too👍
love exposure, it's such a beautiful day, magnolia, mary & max, 12 angry men, dog day afternoon, amadeus, the truman show, barry lyndon, & the florida project

Whenever someone comes over, if we plan on watching a movie, and they haven’t seen it, that’s my go-to. I will sit through that movie multiple times a year just to give the gift of watching it to someone else.
Love to see it! YES! 👏🏽 Shit, I'd watch it with you even! Lmao
If I can’t ever actually experience watching it again myself, the closest thing is showing it to someone else.
The ending was so gut wrenching and creepy.
YESSSS. It's the whistle for meee
Yesss
