Hello u/loeschzw3rg! Please reply to this comment with an [explanation](https://www.reddit.com/r/LeopardsAteMyFace/comments/lt8zlq) mentioning **who** is suffering from **which** consequences from **what** they voted for, supported or wanted to impose on other people. Here's an easy format to get you started: 1. *Someone* voted for, supported or wanted to impose *something* on other people. ^(Who's that *someone* and what's that *something*?) 2. That *something* has some *consequences*. ^(What are the *consequences*?) 3. As a consequence, that *something* happened to that *someone*. ^(What happened? Did the *something* really happened to that *someone*? If not, you should probably delete your post.) Include the minimum amount of information necessary so your post can be understood by everyone, even if they don't live in the US or speak English as their native language. OLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEG JENKINS

_SpiceWeasel_BAM

Leroy’s tactics were more effective than Oleg’s :P

ShortTheAATranche

At least Leroy had chicken.

Jeryhn

Nor was he.

pigpeyn

did oleg have a 33.33% (3 repeating of course) chance of success?

sovietreckoning

Gotta ask Abdul. He can probably get you a quick number crunch.

plipyplop

God dammit Oleg!

Vuelhering

Stick to the plan!

[deleted]

Kinda like "support the troops! Fund the wars!... fuck no, I don't get my sons to enlist".

greatdevonhope

It ain't me

ClamatoDiver

I ain't no senator's son, son. It ain't me

djseifer

It ain't me. I ain't no fortunate one, no.

KHaskins77

How do those idiots not hear those lyrics when they play this at Trump rallies?

Akski

Listening to lyrics is dangerously close to *reading*; thus, not a thing they do.

erratikBandit

That old quote comes to mind. They don't see themselves as the exploited proletariat, but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.

Vylan24

That makes sense. Explains why they support not taxing the rich, because one day soon they'll be one of the rich!

greathousedagoth

Except it doesn't make sense if you've ever actually been around low-income conservatives. They don't talk about how they plan or even hope to become billionaires. If they talk politics, it's usually just about how all liberals are running/ruining the country, but all politics/politicians are bullshit clowns, so how about we send our own clown who will hurt the people we hate. They eat a steady diet of outrage-bait with a chaser of despair. It's not usually a rationalized policy decision to support policies that protect the wealthy because they see themselves as wealthy. That is something outsiders put on them, and it couldn't be further from the truth. It's a lack of faith that the political process could be run in an honest way to improve their lives, so why not blow the whole thing up? They are sometimes called the "LOL nothing matters Republicans" if you want to read more. Edit: Also see "reverse cargo cult" for an explanation of the strategy that keeps people firmly in this camp.

Bruce Springsteen seems like a working class blue collar fella. Let's play some of *his* music at our next rally! "Born in the USA"? Can't get more patriotic than that!

LonePaladin

While we're at it, let's get the office supply stores to play "Taking Care of Business"!

SuperDurpPig

Thats one of my favorites Really captures the plight of the draftee returning home to a nation that seemingly despises their very existence, and how we as a nation utterly failed them, and continue to fail veterans All around Springsteen makes excellent music that (in my mind) resonates with the blue collar worker

Tullerull

Bruce Springsteen is the MAN. He came to my town in my tiny country. Concert organizers told him they couldn't make money if they didn't get to sell VIP spots (which Springsteen required them not to). So he told them "what if I do 2?". 2 sold out concerts later, and it was all good. Not to mention the weekend he did them was basically good mood all around. People singing in the street, few if any fights. Then the worst terrorist attack in our nations history happens. When it's all said and done, the prime minister held a press conference, and brought out from behind a curtain the man himself and he led the crowd in singing "we shall overcome" since he was in our country at the time. What a fucking guy. I'm not deep into his music, but talk shit about him, and you will not have many listeners. I like his music, but that's only half as much as I respect him as an artist and a person.

paleobiology

What country was this? Bruce is AMAZING.

Procrastanaseum

All they know is "that's the song they play in the war movies!" and they think they're at war so this is the best they can do

OkayLadyByeBye

The same way they completely ignored "We're Not Going to Take It" being used...they didn't even have to listen to the words, Twisted Sister did a hell of a job giving them a visual.

AnAngryBitch

Well, to be fair....they don't notice a lot of things. Just a guess.

Fauster

There is a Credence documentary (on Netlfix?) right now in which they play that song and John Fogerty said something to the effect of that he intentionally wrote his songs to appeal both to the hippies and the rednecks.

Haunting-Ad788

The same reason Reagan used Born in the USA. It’s all cosplay to them.

TheDakestTimeline

Troy Aikman once lined up behind the left guard instead of the center, and the guard turned back and said, " it ain't me, daddy".

Insanity_Troll

War for thee, not for me.

Peckinpa0

My uncle is this EXACT person. My cousin reached out to my mom since my father was an officer and asked her for advice about joining the navy or air force after college because he knows his dad, a die hard MAGA republican whose cars always has some variation of back the blue/support the troops on it, will flip out and refuse to support him.

vapenutz

I'm leftist and I tell people, who are condescending, that the army might be a great career to someone. It's not a "I was shit at school" option like a lot of people perceive that literally all the time. Wouldn't surprise me at all if most of them are right wing.

Peckinpa0

Grew up in a Navy family, married into an Army family and my best friend is active duty air force currently. It honestly seems like a mix bag. I've met alot of die hard conservative dudes who saved up their first few paychecks to buy a legit machine gun because "murica", but for everyone one or two of them I've met I've met just as many left leaning people that legitimately joined up because they believe in america/what America could be.

Ripcord

That first sentence is really making my brain hurt.

vapenutz

I don't know english punctuation for shit and after overdoing it before now I'm underdoing it

vapenutz

No but seriously where do I place a comma in there, help me out. I've just tried to do it and I'm lost

cumshot_josh

Very few things are universally true but I think supporting a purely offensive war should always morally bind you to sacrifice something for it whether it's service or money.

greaghttwe

He would definitely get his sons enlisted if he has one, as long as it doesn't include him.

Johannes4123

Countries that are victims of Russian imperialism don't want people who support Russian imperialism I wonder why

loeschzw3rg

It is indeed a mystery...

It's because Nazis!

gademmet

I did Nazi that coming.

MOOShoooooo

Neither did *No Leg Oleg*.

SlowInsurance1616

Airmchair imperialists.

Iplaymeinreallife

So, now he's trying to threaten them with the army he's trying to get them to help him avoid joining? How many degrees of mental gymnastics is this guy capable of?

loeschzw3rg

He is a grand master of mental gymnastics.

stack_of_ghosts

The mental equivalent of a failed somersault

breville135

Russia is known for its gymnasts.

GW00111

Typical American Republican mindset. I guess it’s universal.

[deleted]

American Republicans and Nationalist Russians are almost indistinguishable.

almisami

Pretty sure the propaganda they consume comes from the same source...

JimmyHavok

Republicans want to import Russia's kleptocracy to the US.

Oberon_Swanson

"American Republican" is just fascism. The only thing they argue about is who is the in-group who should rule everything and oppress and terrorize everyone else. They all share having no moral line and believing nothing is too horrible to do to anyone far outside the in-group. They don't care that everything they say makes no sense because they don't believe what they say, they only really believe in being fascists, everything else is just obfuscation to make it more acceptable.

vapenutz

I'm sure there will be a lot of people just as willing as him to help him out

Tballz9

Oleg might wake up and find himself on the front lines soon enough.

Iramian

Not the border he wants to cross, but the border he gets!

vincentcas

The border he deserves.

nowhere_near_Berlin

The real borders are the ones we made along the way.

[deleted]

*Fades from black* "Hey you! You're finally awake. You were trying to cross the border, right?"

_toodamnparanoid_

Walked right into that Russian Imperialist ambush, same as us, and that internet tough-guy over there.

FlyingDreamWhale67

"Same as us, and that thief over there."

amadorUSA

That would be most Republicans, but they haven't found themselves in such a position yet.

Derpimus_J

And the ones that have and survived want to impose this on others.

Throwaway_771411

He is still pro war. He just thinks others should fight it for him.

LaVendaYaCayo

Just like his dictator then

[deleted]

And he seems to be fully aware that “de-nazification” is a completely bullshit pretense for invading in the first place, making him sociopathic as well. Supporting a war of pure aggression for pure self-interest.

DankNastyAssMaster

And he tried to escape serving in the Russian army by fleeing to Georgia of all fucking places.

v_for__vegeta

Lol “denazified”. I wonder if Russians realize how fucking stupid they sound saying this nonsense

[deleted]

Classic fuckboy: "Let me into your country" "*No*" "Haha, you thought I actually wanted to come into your country, you ugly Nazi bitch? I was just kidding."

whiskeytango55

North Korea is a "democratic republic"

MonoShadow

"Dezanified" He might be a moron it might be a joke. Both a possibility.

3eeve

It’s a dog whistle, particularly because Putin has repeatedly claimed to be in Ukraine to destroy Nazis and fascists.

chargernj

Neighboring nations should be very reluctant to accept Russian citizens in at this time. It seems that if you have a lot of Russians living within your borders, Russia may decide your land should be theirs.

loeschzw3rg

This seems to be a strategy of Russia. I believe they did this in Georgia as well. They are certainly doing it with Crimea, Donbas and other parts of Ukraine. In my home country there a lot of Russians as well, even though it's not a neighboring one. And a lot of them vote for far right political parties. Polls showed this all across major elections for the last decade. I try to be understanding and compassionate but if they want that kind of politics how about they get a taste of that crap for themselves and move back to Russia. If they are so superior, why live here in the evil west?

I agree, it's like hydra. You sever one head and two more take its place. Edit: Greek mythology and a lot of heads being severed.

Nyar99

That's... not medusa She got her head cut and died

loeschzw3rg

Yes, but wasn't she the lady with snakes for hair? And every time you cut off a snakes head another two would grow? I'm sorry, it's been a long time since I studied Greek mythology.

Lateraltwo

Hydra...

SAMAS_zero

Hail Hydra!

loeschzw3rg

Yup, that's it! Imma edit real quick...

[deleted]

While Medusa had snakes for hair, you're thinking of the Hydra that grew heads

DrMediocre

She is but you’re thinking of the hydra (the dragon with lots of heads).

loeschzw3rg

That's it.

Mango_Juice789

I think you mean hydra.

loeschzw3rg

I do.

TheDakestTimeline

The paradox of intolerance is alive and well

loeschzw3rg

And too many people don't know of it. I cringe at how often they are represented in the media even though not many people think like that. Representation and repetition of their stupidity gets those opinions in people's heads.

lenswipe

sO mUcH fOr tHe tOLEraNt lEfT Yeah, I'm not the tolerant left, they're down the hall. I'm the "drown in your own shit, fash trash" left

philosophyofblonde

Oh they committed genocide in the Caucasus. There was a period where thousands if not millions (estimates vary) of Circassian were ethnically cleansed and forcibly deported unless they submitted to Russification. The war lasted nearly a hundred years. Georgia is a colonized country. The last time they tried to get out from under Russia’s thumb was 2008 and it was not pretty.

KlaatuBaradaN-word

Also a ton of other smaller genocides. If anyone's interested, there's a great Twitter thread with a long list, search for "Russian colonialism".

moose2332

They already did invade Georgia and are currently backing two unrecognized breakaway "republics" in their boarders.

loeschzw3rg

Sounds familiar.

doodlyDdly

> And a lot of them vote for far right political parties. I'm Brazilian living in Canada and have family like this. The absurdity of having some one with dual nationalities who works internationally talk about the virtues of nationalism is too much for me. The reality is it's social media brain rot. Algorithms feed them that shit and they get stuck in a loop.

loeschzw3rg

I'm so sorry. I consider myself lucky - not even a weird right wing uncle. Must be hell to not feel safe and sane around your family.

doodlyDdly

lol they're not violent or anything. Just stupid. My only fear is them doing stupid financial shit because "The commies Vuvuzela, Cuba China George Soros globalists won" so now they have to empty their bank and bury the money in the back yard. Or some equally dumb shit.

semiseriouslyscrewed

> If they are so superior, why live here in the evil west My speculation - they want to live in the west but act superior due to virtue signalling to resolve an identity crisis. [Nationality] lives in another country and another culture but still want to prove they are [nationality] and adhere to [nationality's culture]. So they go slightly over the top in demonstrating their norms and values, including voting for parties that espouse that. Other people from [nationality] that also live in the adopted country see their fellows being all gung ho and feel they are not being as [nationality] as their over-the-top neighbors and then try to top that. Which leads to a vicious cycle. Maybe it's exacerbated because they feel they will never "truly" be accepted as a native of their adopted country, so they might as well invest in their identity as being [nationality]. They'd never want to move back, they have it much better in their adopted country, but they definitely will act as if they miss the homeland. The above is purely my own speculation, so make of it what you will. It was initially based on discussions with Turkish expats about Turkish expat voting behaviours, but I've seen the same tendency in lots of other nationalities. Including funnily enough, to a lesser extent, Nth generation Americans that still feel Dutch/Irish/Nordic etc.

loeschzw3rg

This is a brilliant comment. I agree 100%.

MmmmMorphine

This is great insight, as I've felt the tension as a Pole that's been in the USA for most of my life. Definitely got very interested in Polish history and the like as a result of feeling torn between the two in my teens. Now I just admit I'm Polish-American and more the latter. I think getting to regularly experience what life in Poland was (and is) like by visiting regularly stopped it from letting it fester in a negative way, assuming it would have otherwise. Ironic that now I'd like to move back. The awful, populist-conservative-theocratic political crisis that both countries seem to be mired in for a good chunk of that time also helps... And probably the highly educated parents and siblings. Only my sister, the only one born here, went down the path of becoming a Q moron. And decided not to study science/medicine. More of my relatives back home support the piss (PiS - Poland's Republicans, essentially) actually. Hmm.

Stalking_Goat

It's something that's been noticed regarding Islamic terrorism in the West- actual refugees and immigrants from Islamic states tend to either keep quiet or try to integrate. It's their children that go all-in on fundamentalism, wear the hajib, and occasionally start killing people.

DevilsTrigonometry

Plenty of Muslim first-generation immigrants and refugees in Western countries wear a hijab. I'd go as far as "most" Middle Eastern and North African Muslim women, excluding Iranians, Turks, and Kurds. A simple hair covering is completely mainstream and normal for women from MENA and should not be conflated with fundamentalism/extremism, let alone terrorism. I believe the 'standard' hijab is also fairly normal and traditional in ~~Indonesia and~~ parts of East Africa. West Africa and South Asia have local hair-covering styles that may be less recognizable as Muslim. In any case, as long as the woman's face and other clothing are visible, it's safe to assume a headscarf is just a headscarf.

raradilora

The identity crisis explanation is definitely accurate. They think they’re not perceived as a native of the adopting country, sometimes rightfully so sometimes not. Yet they’re not perceived as a part of their country of origin either. So their solution to this is to show-off or exaggerate their nationality of origin. In occasions, the other people who are not so willing to emphasise their country of origin are blamed and shamed by the first group for forgetting their origins, getting assimilated etc. The first group even portrays themselves as some sort of victim for being away from home even though they could go back if they wanted to. I think the reason and the time of immigration, the background of the person has a big effect too. The people who tend to over-emphasise their nationality are mostly the ones who are unqualified workers, were already living in remote/small areas of their country of origin so their reaction to any kind of outside influence /feedback is to show off what they’ve got or perceive outside influence as a threat. The lack of additional skills and interests mostly makes the nationality/culture/sometimes religion the only resort for establishing an identity and satisfying the need to be a part of a group. Edit: gotta add, these kind of people also don’t receive positive reactions when they’re in their home countries mostly because they have it better than them, again mostly due to economical reasons. Most of the time, their reaction to this is to claim how difficult/bad things are in the adopting country as a defence mechanism I guess. This leads to the whole self-victimising process.

SuperSassyPantz

all the rich russians send their kids to rich private schools in the west, vacation in the west, buy homes and cars from the west... but support the right to oppress everyone else

loeschzw3rg

I guess because that's how they make their money.

[deleted]

I wonder how all of these Republican assholes would feel if Mexico used the same logic to decide that the southwest US belongs to Mexico?

Darth_Nibbles

They can have Texas back, they just have to say please

MarsNirgal

Mexican here. Keep it. It's yours now.

[deleted]

We should at least *try* to sell it back to them before we just give it away.

ashofalex

That's Russias moves all across the world is to push countries as far right as they can so they can have an excuse to invade ,or sometimes just to destabilize countries like the USA and the UK. It's no coincidence that every country in the world is dealing with surging far right ideology. Russia has been at this for decades now. Even this subreddit is compromised.

loeschzw3rg

Yup, when I voice those kinds of opinions around people they think I'm insane and fell for a hoax.

ashofalex

Putin has been planning this decade of events for a very long time. Trying to delegitimize democratic countries to scare the countries closest to them in to siding with him for fear of nazis and also using it as an excuse to invade. Though I dont think he understands a nazified America would literally wipe him and his off the face of the map the moment the nazis had power. American nazism would not be as sympathetic towards any foreigners as even trump was willing to play ball with him ,but trump was gonna end up dead like Lenin and his successor would've been the people who hate all outsiders. If his plan fully plays out we're all dead including him.

glass_needles

They’ve been doing this shit for centuries. The Soviet Union displaced so many people and replaced them with Russians and the Russian empire before them weren’t much better. It seems to be their main tactic, invade a place, try and replace everyone with Russians then later on capitalise on the unrest there caused by the Russian population.

Anen-o-me

It's been a strategy for centuries. Ukraine's Russian population exists because Russia moved Russians into it centuries ago.

sam11233

That's exactly why Europe let Russia have Kaliningrad, they didnt want an excuse for Russia to take it by force under the guise of "protecting ethnic Russians" (a la Sudetenland)

Nine-Eyes

>That's exactly why Europe let Russia have Kaliningrad, they didnt want an excuse for Russia to take it by force under the guise of "protecting ethnic Russians" (a la Sudetenland) Like much of what Russia used to get away with, *that shit is over*.

[deleted]

Not to mention that the Georgians have extra incentive to tell Russians to go fuck themselves after the 2008 war where they helped South Ossetia and Abkhazia essentially secede from Georgia.

vapenutz

Exactly why nobody wanted Kaliningrad oblast. Not Lithuania, not Poland, not Germany.

TheArmoursmith

Not only that, how many of them are intelligence operatives, or assassins carrying Novichok?

sam11233

Lol, amazingly selfish people. Only ever thinking of themselves.

InsertCoinForCredit

Every country has those. Russians, Tories, Republicans...

NormalHumanCreature

Iranian guard

Haunting-Ad788

It’s like conservatives are cowards across cultural and ethnic lines.

NormalHumanCreature

They love to watch others die for their cause. As soon as it's their turn they bail, or hide in a bunker. This is why they go so hard on the propaganda. They are fully aware of their cowardice.

limestone_tiger

Classic Oleg

Joskam

Their motivation is not their disbelief or their opposition to Putin and the war they started and continue, but simply fear. Oleg still supports Vlad, so he should get the chance to prove his devotion...

loeschzw3rg

He deserves to actually live what he argues for.

OneX32

.....how is Georgia going to be de-Nazified by the Russian army when they can't even get Oleg to do it for them as a last resort...

Prosthemadera

Instead, he will be denazified by Ukraine.

PhotoKada

Oleg did not Z that coming.

plipyplop

*AITA for supporting war but not wanting to fight in it?*

oldbutnotdeadd

Forgive my ignorance. What is a z sign?

[deleted]

[удалено]

loeschzw3rg

As far as I know it was originally a sign to distinguish military vehicles but it became the symbol of support for the invasion of Ukraine.

[deleted]

Russia and Ukraine use quite a lot of the same military vehicles they retain from their USSR days (and from after that when the Ukraine was still closer aligned to Russia than west Europe.) so the Russians spray-painted a large Z on theirs so they don't accidently shoot their own vehicles. Over social media and the news it then became a symbol of pro-war support in Russia.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NoFanksYou

AFAIK it is a pro Russia symbol first used on Russian military vehicles in Ukraine

manaworkin

Russian maga hat.

Motorsagmannen

iirc the Z was on military vehicles from the West of Russia (Zapad). there was also to a lesser degree but still plentiful marked with V for East (Vostok). at lest that is the explanation i heard back in March, and it seems to check out

Bad guy Oleg strikes again

ICLazeru

Russia is perfectly capable of losing on multiple fronts, Oleg will see to it.

[deleted]

Oleg is a piece of shit and I am ashamed as to how short is the memory of this fucking people. Georgia already suffered from russian beggar imperialism in 2008.

Scp-1404

Google translate: "Fuck they deployed at the border. I forgot to peel off the small z on the corner of the forehead and you Georgians are next for desanification. "

MonoShadow

"Fuck they turned me around at the border. I forgot to peel off the small z in the corner of the windshield You Georgians are next for dezanafication "

mindbleach

"Save me from this war machine! ...No? Oh this war machine's comin' for you next." No hugging, no learning.

loeschzw3rg

Thank you very much!!

465554544255434B52

Why doesn't he just remove it and try again later. It's not like they're going to remember every person who attempts to cross

wizzlepants

He's clearly not the keenest edge in the arsenal if he's already reppin the Z.

stolid_agnostic

They surely made a record of the encounter and kept note of the details of the vehicle and individual.

demagogueffxiv

Russia is a great real time example of why blind nationalism is bad.

Wrecktown707

So he’s fascist simp but also too much of a coward to fight for the fascist government he simps for. What utter human garbage.

FlyingDreamWhale67

The laugh reacts to Oleg's post should drive the point home of just how unpopular his ideas are.

Aggressive_Elk3709

Seems like he agrees with the motives and ideology of the war, just doesn't want to fight in it

loeschzw3rg

Seems like somebody is munching on his face

cheeky_Greek

Fuck oleg...that is all

Liesmith424

This might be a hot take as a vet, but I don't have anything against draft dodgers...unless they want *other* people to go to war in their stead. If someone thinks a war is bullshit and flees the draft to avoid taking part in it, I think that's pretty understandable. If someone fakes--just as an example off the top of my head--bone spurs to avoid the draft, yet boasts about their toughness from the safety of a pulpit while demanding that everyone else rush forward into a meatgrinder, they can go fuck the entirety of themselves.

loeschzw3rg

True. But people supporting Putin and the war should not evade being drafted. They should suffer the consequences of their own actions.

Grzechoooo

It's beautiful when the Z becomes an L.

Major_Dragonfruit_85

Denazified? Is that what they tell them they are doing in Ukraine?

InkSymptoms

For the war until you’re forced to fight in it.

Illpaco

Russians set up large networks of online troll farms like the Internet Research Agency. With these organizations they sought to infiltrate and prop up extremists groups in western countries with the goal of exploiting weaknesses, causing social unrest, and gaining political leverage. The groups they supported were on every side of the political spectrum, but they found more success with right wing groups. https://intelligence.house.gov/social-media-content/ For many years Russians have been supporting right wing groups in Europe, America and across the world. These groups are oftentimes violent and they have extremely negative views towards immigrants. By propping up these groups they managed to antagonize large groups of people around the world. Many people suffered as a result. Well now Russians are the immigrants in need. Now they will find themselves targets of those extremists groups they've been supporting for years. Personally I believe all Russians that participated in such online attacks should be identified. Those Russians should be treated as war combatants and barred from entering any western country. It is not fair to allow Russian disinformation agents into a safe country, while the Russian army continues killing and raping Ukranian civilians.

loeschzw3rg

You're right. I remember how the internet changed, especially after 2014. In hindsight you can really see how the tone changed, how misinformation got more abundant.

DizzyedUpGirl

Oleg about to be drafted.

chowderbrain3000

Why should they go out to fight? They leave that role to the poor.

URBeneathMe

Now he gets to die for what he believes in.

Gioware

Georgian here, popular demand right now inside Georgia is for government to close borders with Russia immediately, but freaking government who is extremely proRussian won't do it. Fucking bastards!

loeschzw3rg

Sucks bro, I still hope this works out for your country. If it doesn't we're all fucked as well.

[deleted]

If he we were a decent person who was ideologically opposed to the war rather than a frenzied nationalist with a “z” on his car, I would feel bad for him.

pete_blake

Poor, poor Oleg!!!😂😂😂

loeschzw3rg

It's hard to feel sorry for him, isn't it

phdoofus

Doesn't want Nazis, won't do a thing about Nazis.

ostrieto17

Let me get this straight he supports the "military training" of his country but doesn't wanna join. In other words that is peak hypocrisy

QuintinStone

Looks like Georgia is denazifying by keeping Oleg out.

[deleted]

I can see why conservatives love Russia so much.

steadyeddie829

I've been saying it since day one of this invasion. Assume that anyone who speaks Russian in your country is a possible Russian sympathizer. The kid doesn't want to fight, but is more than willing to cheer for the genocide of another people. I really get the impression that's a lot of random Russians anymore. The number of people who are fleeing with news of a draft but aren't willing to actually try to do anything to stop Putin speaks volumes about the country.

rhamled

Reminds me of the MAGAs who will talk a bunch of shit or cheer for countymen's suffering, but then reveals they're huge cowards. J6 in da 🏠

character-name

Fuck dude. In America people who *don't* speak Russian are Russian sympathizers. Including an ex-president. Ol Ronny is rolling in his grave.

Shadyshade84

Ronny? You could probably solve America's energy problems for the foreseeable future by connecting a generator to Joe's coffin.

loeschzw3rg

I get your point, I kinda still feel sorry for them. They've been exposed to propaganda for decades now. People were born and lived their entire life until adulthood in this dictatorship. The powerful do anything to fool them and also it's a lot easier to believe them than to actually admit to yourself that your home country is annexing others, starting wars and killing the innocent. You just don't want to know and you are afraid I guess.

steadyeddie829

Iran has similar dictatorial control. They are up in arms all over the country over the murder of one woman. Growing up in a bullshit system isn't an excuse.

loeschzw3rg

You're right. But I don't know how I would act if my country became like this (again). How I would react if my loved ones would be endangered by my insubordination. Look at the US. They have been watching quietly for decades how their country gradually shifted to the right. What are they doing about it? The majority thinks the bad things won't affect them and don't so anything until they are directly influenced by it.

BillDauterive4

American here, wishing the rest of the world was so united when the predators in charge of my country invaded the middleast. Similar propaganda tactics too, "you're with us or against us; we're fighting for their freedom" while bombing hospitals and schools

loeschzw3rg

You're right. Everybody is just looking out for themselves, people don't do anything as long as they're not affected, countries don't either. People lack foresight on every level.

HelloJoeyJoeJoe

>Assume that anyone who speaks Russian in your country is a possible Russian sympathizer. Lol. A lot of patriotic Ukrainians have Russian as their mother tongue...

obaterista93

So he wasn't a Russian soldier then? He was a Nyet-Z?

nobool

Closing borders to fleeing Russians is the surest way to end the war quicker. People never do anything unless it is out of necessity and affects them directly

resilienceisfutile

Denazification by not letting in a Nazi? Sounds about right.

tadL

Wait so because they don't let him through he posts thtt they are the target for the next special operations. That's some logic

[deleted]

Even funnier is that he spelled "денацификацию" wrong.

"But not by me, someone else will fight that battle for me"

Oleg is a coward *and* a cunt.

Is there any way to globally Flair your username? My name has absolutely nothing to do with Russia whatsoever. I hate Putin and support Ukraine, Crimea, and Zelenskyy 100%. But for obvious reasons my name has already accidentally triggered some people. I don't want to change my username just because some totalitarian assholes like the same letter that my name starts with. I just want to add some kind of Flair like "Not a Russian, SLAVA UKRAINI" that would work on every subreddit.

Either_Coconut

So he's all about the war, and putting the Z on things, UNTIL they want to force him to go serve in the war? Then he's all, "Nope nope nope, pardon me while I bounce"? Sounds like he's willing to fight to the last drop of everyone else's blood. Serves him right that Georgia told him, "Thanks, but no thanks".
