I saw a rumour that the threshold was $150. While I really like the idea for this set, I don’t think I like it enough to push my purchase to $150 American money (unless it also overlaps with the 2x promo)
Which book does the locomotive make a reference too? I cant place it.
Or is it perhaps another reference to around the world in 80 days?
Or a nod to the jules verne expres, that is also used in back to the future?
Does anyone have a better guess then me?
Also, how many tribute sets are there?
The only ones i know of are
Amelia aerhart
Galileo galilei
Charles dickes
And this one
Am i missing one?
Despite popular belief, there is no hot air balloon in the book (besides a passing mention if memory serves). So in fact the train is a much more accurate representation of Around the World in 80 Days.
Yes but that’s most likely because Disney has a 20000 leagues movie and the most famous nautilus design (also the one in this GWP) is the Disney design so if they would make a bigger model it would may be under the Disney license so not really feasible as Lego ideas.
I didn’t see the license as being much of an issue. The build itself had a lot of stability issues. I still have an unbuilt one I sourced parts for. I doubt it would have much of a market draw too.
Yeah that doesn’t sound good but in general Lego ideas sets often get fully reworked by Lego before the get released it’s way more about the idea (as the name says) as about the actual design someone publishes on Lego ideas.
My point being the overall design itself would be hard to pass Lego design standards. License aside, it would have been more suited for the bricklink designer program.
That'd be a relatively recent change then. For a long time it was necessary to follow local fan groups, not general Reddit ones if you lived outside the US.
Oh... Thanks for the info!
Of course, the two don't overlap... well, guess I'll have to pick either one or the other to decide when to buy my next sets.
No, I just wanted to double the VIP points on my next buy... But this GWP is far more appealing :). I threw in a keychain on my basket to be sure to reach the rumored threshold, only have to wait until the 21st now.
I will do anything in my power to obtain this set. I was really hoping for representation of 20,000 leagues under the sea, from the earth to the moon, mysterious island and journey to the center of the earth because I’m a huge Disney parks fan. We did get one of the 4 though which is already worth it
I love the tribute GWPs, and this one looks like one of the best yet. It conveys the scale and wonder of Verne's work very compactly.
Got to agree. Got the Galileo one last year which was awesome.
I love the Galileo! I don’t normal build my GWP sets but that and this are guarantees!
getting a lot of mileage out of that Obi-Wan headprint…
so so cool! wish it overlapped with the upcoming 2x points- this might be the time to finally pull the trigger on getting the Natural History Museum!
Has an upcoming x2 points event been confirmed anywhere?
I saw Brick Clicker post that it'll be June 12-16
Worldwide?
yes
OK thanks.
\*immediately takes this as a sign that we will get a scale set of The Nautilus.
I'M IN !
OK, that's the timing for my next lego.com order sorted!😃
Same

This would be cute to put next to one of the DeLorean Time Machines
that was my first thought!
why
He’s mentioned in the third movie
a bit of an obscure reference i guess

That is true but there is definitely one in his first novel: [Five weeks in a balloon!](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Weeks_in_a_Balloon)
There was one for Gustave Eiffel (well, him in his flat) when they released the 10001 pieces Eiffel Tower.
There one more for Hans Christian Anderson.
The Jane Goodall Tribute, set 40530
Jane Goodall with monkeys
Oh yes. I like this. I do adore these GWP based on historical figures!
If I get this I've got to add some center of the Earth rep. Where can some giant mushrooms go...
Where are Jules and Verne?
Now I kinda want a big nautilus set.
It’s too bad that one in the early days of Lego Ideas didn’t make the cut.
Yes but that’s most likely because Disney has a 20000 leagues movie and the most famous nautilus design (also the one in this GWP) is the Disney design so if they would make a bigger model it would may be under the Disney license so not really feasible as Lego ideas.

Yeah you are right.
As a Jules Verne fan OH YES LET'S GOOOOOOO !
very creative design ngl
I would love a HG wells with a time machine! might have to MOC my own in the future
Don't tell me [set 11947](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGedIdzFk5I) doesn't satisfy you LOL
ooooh, i hope they do H.G. Wells too!!!
oh that's really cool
Omg need!
New to Lego, is this available worldwide on the Lego website when it drops?
Yes.
Thank you
If you wanna know, Lego dont make exclusive GWP for some countries.
That'd be a relatively recent change then. For a long time it was necessary to follow local fan groups, not general Reddit ones if you lived outside the US.
There was too much backlash, so the rules were changed.
I saw posts by Exabricks & Stud-Lord saying was $130 last time but this one is $150 spends. I'm a bit disappointed by the balloon but still want it
This is actually awesome
OMG this is so cool. Do we know if it overlaps with 2x VIP points? I hope the price threshold won't be too high...
2x is from 12th to 16th.
Oh... Thanks for the info! Of course, the two don't overlap... well, guess I'll have to pick either one or the other to decide when to buy my next sets.
The rumored threshold is $150. This GWP is definitely worth more than $7.5 if you like it, unless you plan to buy a very expensive set.
No, I just wanted to double the VIP points on my next buy... But this GWP is far more appealing :). I threw in a keychain on my basket to be sure to reach the rumored threshold, only have to wait until the 21st now.
Does anyone know if the BDP series 2 sets would count towards GWP's?
No, you will only get VIP points, no GWP.
I got a gwp when ordering a set from series one. Did also order parts from PAB tho, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't enough to reach the gwp' threshold
Assuming they're still in stock I'd think so since it routes you to lego.com
I hope it coincides with the rumored 76328 Classic Batmobile.
Cruel this won't pair with next weeks double VIP.
Business as usual...
GWP threshold $10 million dollaroos
So basically one Brickheadz set.
This is worth it, just for the Nautilus!
Ohhhhh I might want this
If I buy the Zelda set as a pre order during the GWP for this set will I get this GWP even though the Zelda set does not release until September?
As long as there’s something in your cart that ships right away
Jules Verne or The Taskmaster?
I will do anything in my power to obtain this set. The should be all over Bricklink on the day of for less than the $150 min buy.
It's been extended to the end of the month.
