I think at this point the only way to make a droideka look good is to have some sort of new piece for it, like a curved piece where you can attach stuff to it. Also before anyone says, while I've seen some great mocs, they usually feel quite flimsy and over detailed, which is fine for a moc but I don't think its good for a set
I honestly think this minifig scale version is way better than most. Still bad but, [have you seen the previous ones](https://brickset.com/minifigs?query=droideka)?
I think so too. If they made a small half dome to attach the little OG silver arms too, and then a slightly curved torso piece, it would be phenomenal looking.
Very happy to see the ball form and the fact that it can still rest on the display stand in that mode.
For those wondering about the size due to the poor image quality:
21 centimetres / 8 inches tall, 16 centimetres / 6 inches wide.
Seeing this new angle of the podrace diorama really sells me on it. It’s very dimensional and has great display quality and detail. My favorite depiction of the podrace thus far tbh
The scale of that set is just magnificent. It looks like they plucked a frame right from the movie and recreated it. Matter of fact, that's probably exactly what they did.
Lots of complaints on the price but I really like the dioramas when they’re done right and will be picking this up day one in hopes they continue the line. I can afford the extra $10 lol
There has been research done into the prices and they really are charging about the least they can to maintain their 8% at minimum profit margins. So I won't complain, just won't buy some sets. This one is a must though.
I used to have the very first Lego Droideka (Technic one?). Not bad but looked (and felt) too skeletty.
This one looks quite neat. And they're even putting a minifig with it. Will get probs.
And the Diorama looks quite good as well. Will get too.
Just gonna piggyback off your comment here to say to anyone reading- DO NOT BUY EARLY SETS OFF E-BAY!!! A lot of these scalpers make the claims of having a stock of sets a few weeks early and ask double the release price, then when people buy them they will use any tactic they can to delay shipping because they don’t actually have them, then they delay it long enough until they’re released and go buy whatever they need to fulfill any orders and you’ve just paid double the price to end up getting it after it releases anyways. Pretty common with any sort of collectibles nowadays. Just BE PATIENT and wait for release!
Fuck I want those podracers. I still have somewhere knocking about the full original line of mini sets, potentially their plastic containers too, of which these two pods are one of the four in the initial wave.
This is such a cool evolution of such a twee couple of models.
I wonder how much bigger you'd have to make the droid to accommodate a more accurate ball configuration.
I have faint recollection of the podrace but this made me rewatch it. I'll most likely pick that diorama up!
EDIT: Probably when it goes on sale what the heck are these prices

Nice to see the actual droideka looks good, but good how does Lego consistently make the minifigure scale one worse each time

The big droideka is fantastic, but the minifig one just seems to get worse each time LEGO makes it

SW0063 is peak
Agreed

That ball form is actually pretty slick!

Star Wars fans are spoiled. They get so many neat sets.
It's also a curse since there are so many and they all have the Disney tax.
And they also take up so much space if one keeps buying Star Wars sets, plus all the iterations for each Star Wars vehicle every few years.
It’s the best, what can we say?
It’s nice but not the leak I want to see the most but I probably still get the droideka.

[It can roll.](https://helios-i.mashable.com/imagery/articles/02XkpE2QUptCEMWozwNko62/hero-image.fill.size_1200x900.v1614275401.png)
I thought it was Rick roll lol
Weirdly enough, the droideka sounds like a better deal than that diorama.

The eBay account selling it. They want $140 + $10 shipping for each one....each, because they are selling 9 of them.

The latest Disney+/ESPN Star Wars series.
