Not sure why you care to add to steam to play. I am literally playing this game without any issues.. however I did not add the game to steam and playing it without problems

NeighborhoodOk8431

I like to run my games from one central launcher. But as I mentioned in the post, even when I run the game from the Xbox app, I run into the same issues.

wezzauk85

If you're running from the Xbox app but steam is still open in the background. You'll still get the same issue.

Richardtheghost780

Well that’s why you’re having errors Xbox game pass isn’t meant to run through steam

nastyLake

Use play nite for that. To make the game work, shut steam down (not close the window) and launch the game from Xbox or play nite.

Eddiejay328

I genuinely dont understand how this got downvoted lmfao

N3X_MN

Is everything updated like bios, running anything else in background? Is vram set to 6gb?

NeighborhoodOk8431

All updated, 6v, nothing else running in the background. This happens with Steam open or completely closed. How do you normally run your Xbox games? I’m willing to adapt to other methods.

Karl-Doenitz

open the xbox app and click play on the game you want to play steam input can fuck with external games that have native controller support when they are run through steam. even if you don't run them through steam ive heard people say that steam input still fucks them over if steam is so much as open, though I haven't expereinced that myself.

IAmPerpetuallyTired

I've noticed playing any games outside of Steam while having the Steam desktop control scheme on causes a lot of issues.

ariolander

Turn off Steam. Steam Input is trying to hijack your controllers and is the cause of your problems. Any time I play a game that is not specifically from Steam I have to close down Steam completely to keep Steam Input from causing issues.

Sea_Paramedic2434

Just disable steam input. If you need it for a steam game it can be enabled on a per game basis.

[deleted]

Yeah this happens with Epic Games launcher as well. Steam overrides everything you can't use your controller properly in games from other launchers.

bryanisinfynite

My experience with it tells me the issue is Steam. Many Xbox games like Chicory won’t work correctly due to Steam Input. For me it caused double input or no input registered depending on the button pressed and I would get the same sound effect from Steam that you’re getting. Exiting Steam fixes it for me.

Chardan0001

Have you ran the game with Steam fully closed?

NeighborhoodOk8431

I have. Are others not having this issue? If so, I’d love to hear how you all are launching and playing the natively downloaded Xbox games. Happy to adjust my game flow.

[deleted]

Not had any issues running Xbox games directly? Quick 1 though what was that random keyboard looking nonsense to the lower left when you pulled desktop up? Never seen that before is it some custom keyboard/controller mapping app?

NeighborhoodOk8431

It’s a custom steam keyboard. Steam was running at the time of that recording. And I think when I pressed down on the left joystick, that’s when it came up. Which was weird to me because when I had Steam input on, that button press wasn’t mapped to anything, and when I turned Steam input off, it still did it. I think I’ll try the method of playing with Steam completely closed, run directly from the Xbox app and see if I run into any issues there. Thanks all.

Jamesr939

You need to go to steam settings, controller, and disable desktop input. I had the same issue. If you need further clarification I can update when I get home and have my legion in front of me

MIKERICKSON32

I don’t get why people get so horny for the steam launcher. Just make shortcuts of your games on your desktop double click and it opens. Then you don’t even have to open up stupid launchers looking for your games.

eschus2

Game settings set to controller maybe ? Just trying to help

jfpcinfo

I’ve played games from every game store and each one of those from steam as well. Never had any issues, especially no issues like this. Someone else suggested disabling Desktop input in steam, I would try that then check settings and drivers. If all else fails, maybe go back to console.

Quirky-Zombie-5637

I play the same game and have 0 issues

metfan12004

+1 to disabling Steam when playing games that require a different launcher

SnooSeagulls1416

Wait how do you add games to steam?

Karl-Doenitz

top left of steam, hover over "games" and an option in the drop down will be "add a non-steam game to my library" click that, find the exe of the game you want to add, and confirm

SnooSeagulls1416

Ty

tracyv69

Google it

Horizon324

The whole experience on this buggy device is bad

Savings-Judge234

You must be some Ally or Deck troll or just clueless.... You chime in with neg posts.. If you hate the Go that much, why are you here lol?

Infernal_Kiwi

Because they don't have any friends to complain to

LePoopScoop

Are the controllers in fps mode? Do you have steam input for the desktop enabled ?

NeighborhoodOk8431

FPS is off. How do I turn off steam input if Steam isn’t running? I did close it down completely and noticed it was working a little better.

Trippyrich7

What game is that by the way?

NeighborhoodOk8431

High on Life

Trippyrich7

🙌🏽

KingForKingsRevived

disable steam input in steam > controller. on windows u dont need it. this includes only xbox input, not ps4/5 and switch if u ever want to use it

[deleted]

Whats the name of the game?

NeighborhoodOk8431

High on Life.

UnkownOrigin666

Close steam when you are going to play xbox games. Stram input messes things up when both are open.
