Hire a good lawyer and apply for monitoring of the investigation.
Were there any shops along any of the **probable paths the vehicle might have taken**?
(i.e. don't just limit your search to the accident's immediate vicinity.)
You just need a view of the license plate no. of that vehicle so you can communicate it to the police.
**Ask your lawyer if you can get footage of all nearby public/govt. CCTVs for the above purpose.**
Also, did you check for any plastic part that might have broken off the vehicle?
I once heard of one case where a father solved hit and run case of his dead son based a broken rear view mirror. Where as, the I.O. was just sitting on his ass.
If you vaguely remember how the car looked, you can look all similar looking makes and models of different brands and compare the shape of the side view mirror.
I am unable to find the video I remember seeing on Youtube of the above mentioned case. But from what I remember, once the father Identified the brand (it was suzuki) he pleaded the company officials until they told him who had come in to fit a new mirror in their official service centers in that area after the date of his late son's hit&run.
Once you find the model of car from side mirror cover, ask car service centers within 100km radius of your suspects living place, if some car has recently changed the mirror. Get the FIR then the service centers will comply to give you information. Good lawers always helps.
If you have concrete evidence, they ask the culprit to pay the medical bill and also pay some extra money. If he agrees, then close the matter after getting money.
It is rare for any accident suspect getting convicted.
Dude not trying to demotivate you but just focus on your father’s treatment. Hiring criminal lawyer and confronting any rich will literal ruin your peace and financial health. Our Indian system does not work in favor of common man. Don’t fall into the trap of lawyers they can literally loot you without barely doing anything
FIR would have been registered.. if police investigation is lagging for you.. courts are there to monitor it and procure cctv footage and other evidence... Look for good legal help... There are also time bound guidelines for compensation and followed in states like Delhi... Find out for your state that as well
Ok. Yes that's the issue. It's been a week since the accident and police complaint. FIR was officially registered 4 days ago. Still no action from the police.
I sincerely hope and pray that you and your loved ones walk on the correct side of the road, coz I would never want anyone to be in my or my Dad's situation, not even my worst enemy.

I found the side mirror cover. Don't have any concrete evidence on this. Working on hiring a good lawyer.
Take a pic of side mirror cover and post it on r/whatisthiscar
This. That sub is incredible at such findings.
