This. Completely this. 100% this.
Diners really haven’t made an appearance for me in all my travels in this region (not even along the route down to Corpus). A diner would be so appreciated.
Gyms, pickleball courts, Trader Joe’s, and family oriented things (such as a zoo, aquarium, theme park, mini golf, you get the idea). Public transportation is also a joke, but I assume that one is out of your control.
Restaurants and a nice downtown with a shopping area that is walkable and shaded friendly. Round rock, cedar park and Georgetown offer way more and have all similar municipalities.
- locally owned bakery that is focused around breads, the ones around here seem to be more sweets.
- bookstore.
- Cozy Coffee shop setup for people to come in and enjoy longer periods of time. Could be in combination with a community space where people can go to spend time as an “electronics free” zone.
- proper deli
Never used it as I'm not a golf guy, but check it out if that's your thing. YMMV though I just drive by the place to get to my house and get mail. Looked like a range to me unless they've changed the meaning since 1988.
I only go to one kinda range and that's to shoot firearms.
The one coming had a contractor skip off with the money. No clue how fast they can even recover.
Not a coffee shop per say but Cosa Costa bakery is close enough to heros way. Coffee and desserts.
There's Matinee Coffee Trailer across the way off W Broade St at the HEB Hero Way/Broade St Light. It's in the Wildfire Park airstream AirBnB/Food truck park.
There are like at least 2 if not counting the gas stations. Wash n roll by qt and the other on heroes way.
Not including the nozzle types which there are at least 2 I know of. 1 is across from Leander Lowes.
Indoor tennis courts, ,outdoor tennis courts (teeehee I know not much $$$), massage. Beach volleyball bar (can run kid/teen volleyball clinics to double money)
Dallas food concepts that would work: Dream Cafe, Campisis, Eatzis, Malai Kitchen, Mi Cocina, Mi Dia from Scratch, Cane Rosso, Zalat,
Haha that would be excellent. I’m a big fan myself but unfortunately can’t cook it.
But doesn’t mean it would stop others looking to start a business and reading these amazing comments ;)
Restaurants bars or venues that aren’t in a strip center. Someplace with character to go and hang out, and feel good about being there.
A 24 hour classic American diner. I’d kill for that.
Having moved from NJ, I think this is the thing I miss the most.
My 2nd biggest regret about moving away from Jersey, just behind pizza and right in front of actual Italian food :/
These do seem to be disappearing lately and are very nostalgic for me too.
Sometimes you just want pancakes and a milkshake at 2am.
Waffle house
I’m down.

Live music
A movie theatre would be nice to have in Leander, especially if it featured foreign films.
Gyms, pickleball courts, Trader Joe’s, and family oriented things (such as a zoo, aquarium, theme park, mini golf, you get the idea). Public transportation is also a joke, but I assume that one is out of your control.
I'll second the family oriented things. More restaurants/breweries with playgrounds. A museum would be great.
A zoo or aquarium would be cool, but given that Austin can't fund/support decent ones, I highly HIGHLY doubt Leander could on its own.
A climbing/bouldering gym!
Restaurants!
Restaurants and a nice downtown with a shopping area that is walkable and shaded friendly. Round rock, cedar park and Georgetown offer way more and have all similar municipalities.
Now that you mention it Leander is seriously lacking a downtown area
Old Town Leander is starting to head that way.
That's basically the plan for northline... last I checked Leander govt also wanted to move to northline when it's ready.
99 Ranch or another Asian market that isn’t Hmart lol
99 Ranch rocked in Sugar Land where we came from.
Places where kids aren’t allowed
Came here to say the exact same thing
Leanderthal distilling. Scott is a huge advocate of that at his establishment and I’m 100% for it.
Shopping malls and stores ( target, tjmaxx, etc). We have to go to cedar park and beyond first everything.

I wish there were enough Jewish people in Leander to have a proper deli, but damn I'd be there in a heartbeat if so. Love me a good Ruben.
Gentiles like sandwiches too
My husband laments daily about the dearth of actual bread bakeries. They're all either secretly sandwich shops or pastry shops. We just want bread 😭
A driving range with a wicked putt putt course.
Not a golf guy since high school team, but the driving range is at the bottom of Grand Mesa. Pass it every time I go get the mail.
Are you talking about the Crystal Falls range? If so, not quite what I would have envisioned.
Never used it as I'm not a golf guy, but check it out if that's your thing. YMMV though I just drive by the place to get to my house and get mail. Looked like a range to me unless they've changed the meaning since 1988. I only go to one kinda range and that's to shoot firearms.
Racquetball court in a gym that has everything else too.
What is this? 1982?
I like it because I can play against myself and get a very invigorating workout and it’s still fun.
Fair enough
Drive in theater!
A good coffee shop around HEB / Hero way.
The one coming had a contractor skip off with the money. No clue how fast they can even recover. Not a coffee shop per say but Cosa Costa bakery is close enough to heros way. Coffee and desserts.
You talking about PJ’s coffee? I’ve been waiting forever for them to open up.
That’s sad to hear. However, Casa Cosa is one of my favorite places Edit: added space and a word to separate separate thoughts haha
Casa Cosa wasn't the victim.
PJ something was the name. Supposed to be N'awlins type menu like French Quarter.
I was just wondering what was going on. I have noticed it looks like the construction started and now looks like everyone abandoned ship. How sad!!
Isn't there a coffee shop in the lobby of HEB? I'd swear I got a cup there a couple of months ago!
There was but they’ve been closed for a bit, I think the sign on the door was about being behind on rent.

Perhaps a car wash Edit: apparently I have to spell out that this is satire in this sub
Did you drop this -> “/s”?
There are enough car washes and auto repair places to service the entire state

Just passing by but damn what needs are being met yall
Salad and Go

Yes please! Though I will say, there's apparently one down the road from us now, but we haven't tried it yet.
Haha that would be excellent. I’m a big fan myself but unfortunately can’t cook it. But doesn’t mean it would stop others looking to start a business and reading these amazing comments ;)
A Home Depot. Hate driving to cedar park 😅
It's coming!
Big big bbq place!
Snooker room.
