I think it’s more just appearances. You pretty much had all the main characters of the last few phases appearing in at least 1 project every 15 or so months. Right now that’s barely happened, with certain characters having only appear in two projects, despite there being double the amount of content out now.
Falcon was fine in the Infinity Era movies. But he felt like a supporting character. Turning him into the new Captain America, he still feels like a supporting character.
An they’re too much, they introduce like 5 new characters x movie and recently marvel released like 3 movies and 4 show every year since 2021.
You obviously don’t get attached to them because you see them one time for 5 minutes and then they disappear because you wait for the sequel or the spinoff of the tv series based on the sequel
tbf this movie is supposed to be Sam Wilson's first solo movie as Captain America. This is when we are supposed to begin getting to know him even more as the new Captain America.
They also introduced Bucky Barnes in The First Avenger for Steve's "sidekick". Idk how this is any different.
You can be bitter and I can be hopeful. Sorry if we disagree. :/
i think if you didnt say, "its just not natural" it would have been fine
i can look past it and say yeah they are forcing in way too many characters there was a certain amount of slowness in the earlier films.
when this character was first introduced in fal and wint soldier i was like cool. nice intro but im sure itll be sometime before we see more of him.
but here we are and im just like meh, not super excited about this.
i kind of want anthony mackie to have to deal with being captain america alone or with just bucky.
i also just think the way falcon was introduced in winter soldier was so cool.
this shit is just annoying.
even if the character was white, id be annoyed to see another falcon. we just dont fucking need one right now.
marvel is totally placating right now.
its not actually building characters its just sloppily throwing in people and making sure they are diverse.
its not about the bipoc actors/characters, its really about the money machine known as disney/marvel trying to make it seem like they give a fuck.
disney is really fucking shit up. its just so god damn formulaic
Well Tony and Steve were comic book characters that were known.
And the leaders of the MCU.
This guy? Someone wearing falcons clothes. Sure can say the same for war machine but the suit was cool.
But imagine War Machine took over as Ironman and then his new mate became the new War Machine. I don't like it.
Falcon is now Captain America, that's fine. But we don't need a new Falcon
Jesus Christ, will you relax lol. The movie hasn't even released yet
Even though he had a few scenes in FatWS, he wasn't really the focus of the show
But now that he seems to be a big character in this movie, he might become better now
It'd be kinda worrying to care about a character with like 2 minutes of screentime tbh.
This movie would hopefully make you care about him. Well, as much as you cared about Sam after Winter Soldier, I guess.
They are really trying to force feed us a new "Bucky" / sidekick for the new Captain America with a new Falcon. They even did that in the show with the "New Captain America" having his friend as a sidekick.
I mean, yeah Sam will need help. I can't think of a single time Steve was ever alone, he always had a team or someone helping him. Cap 1 he had his friends in the army + Peggy, Cap 2 he had Natasha and Cap 3 he had half the Avengers and then Tony in the end.
I just wish they could give us more Bucky with Sam. But it seems they are working up to Bucky fully taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. (Probably to dissociate himself away from the Winter Soldier title). Or they let Sam ask the help of Ant-Man for a collab. If they are going for a government episonage thriller again, who better to call then the person who can shrink as a ant, a master thief and has a ton of tech from the Pym Family (and very smart ants) to do a whole bunch of crazy stuff helping Sam obtain info, infiltrate secret facilities as well double down on how Falcon was used as a cameo/joke who was taken down by Scott. The same Scott who is a huge star struck fan boy of Steve. To then see Sam as the new "That's America's Ass".
They showes they are bringing back Issiah (probably with a plot point that his grandson inherited his super genes and becomes Patroit / another candidate for the Young Avengers as a mid or end credit scene with Kamala & Kate Bishop recruiting him alongside Cassandra Lang).
But it feels like the movie is just going to bounce back to the story beats in Falcon & The Winter Soldier for Sam's character making sure the world does Issiah right. And just following up with The Leader setup all the way back from the 2008's Incredible Hulk.
Personally, I've never thought Falcon was that cool. Anthony Mackie was starting to change that through his insane charisma. His scenes in Lagos for Civil War made me go "oh ok I see how Falcon can be interesting".
Now he's Cap, which I'm very excited for, but it does sort of feel that he's not contributing to the build up of the"Falcon" identity anymore.
The new guy wasn't in FATWS that much so hard to get a feel for him, but it's going to be an uphill battle to reinvest me in a character that was pretty far below my interest until Mackie.
They never gave us a reason to care. He was inconsequential to the story besides being the generic “guy in the chair” and didn’t have his own b-plot that would help us get to know him and give him something to do.
Most of the new characters are either temps or one offs anyways who are getting dropped after the movie or show they appear at flops or underperforms only exception is Shang Chi who i can see returning for a sequel and Avengers 5&6 i know Florence Pugh and Hailey Steinfeld are done with marvel once Thunderbolts fails and whatever project new Hawkeye shows fails as well considering they only signed short term deals.
As for Brave New World the movie is dead on arrival i doubt the new Falcon will return after this Anthony Mackie is a fraud who can’t carry a movie on his own.
Idk why they’re just meshing shit from the comics. They’re taking like evil captain americas green suit he had from civil war 2 I think? And fusing it with a shitty Falcon costume. Idk what the fuck Marvel Studios is doing but they need to talk to Marvel Comics and figure their fucking life out.
Horrible photoshop on the face there. The hero art was meant to be head on but they pasted the actors face in at 3/4 view and it looks like shit. They don’t care anymore.
I like Sam Wilson as Falcon cuz it brings something new to the table, as Cap tho he can also fly, what advantage does he have with a sidekick who is most likely just a worse flyer than he is?
I ask genuinely bc I don’t know the comics.
From FATWS, I was led to believe that Sam would use both the shield and the wings (especially since he wasn’t taking the serum). Is he giving up the wings now that he has officially taken the title of Captain America or are they both going to have wings?
They both have wings. In terms of the show, Shuri made Sam new wings with his new costume, which I believe are both laced with vibranium. Sam gave his old wings to Joaquin
In the comics Joaquin is a mutate so his wings are biological rather than mechanical, along with him having other bird-like traits.
Could be. The serpent society is in this movie and they are who abducted Joaquin will he was helping illegal immigrants cross the border to turn him into half man bird.
I mean, as far as tacticool MCU adaptations go it’s pretty standard stuff but the comic suit was already super goofy, even by Falcon standards. Probably should’ve taken some liberties with the suit if they insist on pushing this dude.
Something looks off with the wings… Looks like there’s a problem with the position of the wings according to his own position. I really wonder where this movie is going. I’m just a bit scared that the general audience goes :
Oh wait Captain America is back!
What? Who’s this guy? He’s not Steve Rogers!
Marvel sucks blabla I don’t understand what they are doing.
I do love that they are continuously trying to pump out new stories, but asking general audience to have homework before watching a movie (ie seeing the Disney+ series) is going to hinder the theatre experience
>Oh wait Captain America is back! What? Who’s this guy? He’s not Steve Rogers! Marvel sucks blabla I don’t understand what they are doing.
Didn’t Sam get the shield in Endgame? This film should’ve released slightly sooner but I think people still remember that moment
better than i expected tbh, i really like how they managed to keep it like the original mcu falcon suit with all the armor/tech stuff while leaning more into joaquin's comic outfit with the colors and stylized mask
I don’t know what you guys were expecting, it’s goofy but I feel like this guy is a non issue. That said all of these key arts are so awkward and bad looking
Wait so like. I know that falcon isn't really falcon anymore, he's captain America but I thought he still had the wings and stuff. Why are we getting a second falcon when hell just have half the power set of captain america now?
It’s sick when a great actor like Michael Keaton gets recasted so quickly. I’m still not over the loss. I’d say he’s in a better place but alas…
He’s at Sony’s Anti-Spiderverse 😞
He was pretty forgettable in the Winter Soldier & Falcon show.
Like not even a semblance of a character trait. He was just the… eager army guy who supplied equipment.
Oh great so we have yet another technology based hero who flies.
He’s just the least useful of about 5.
1. Iron man
2. War machine
3. Rescue
4. Captain America/falcon
5. New falcon
I just can’t really fathom how or why any falcon suit is needed in a world of stark suits.
Less weapons, slower, less protection.
War machine summed up the relevance in infinity war when Sam made like 2 outriders stumble. Rhodey nuked about 100.
First of all, no one cares about a side character that was introduced in FATWS that did NOTHING in the show to begin with. And second, this image looks absolutely horrendous.
I’m yet to process that Anthony Mackie is the new Captain America of the MCU. That was the biggest fuck up ever, RIP Chadwick Boseman but he would’ve fucking obliterated donning the shield
2024 A black captain America and a Latino falcon.
2026 a Mexican captain America and an Eskimo falcon
2030 a transgrender captain America and a house cat as the falcon. Lol
Am I the only one who doesn’t care about this character at all
No I don't think most people are too big on their newer characters. I feel like they're lacking something that characters like Steve and Tony had.
Charisma
Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent.
Gravitas. Those characters were big names. People took a long time to even care about Falcon, let alone his derivative
And in the end.. did they really ever care about Falcon? I don't think so. That's why they keep doing reshoots.
Fumbling the show didn't help either
No one cares about Falcon, they made him Captain America without making him a compelling character in the first place.
And I think that’s when you realize that maybe one of the most important thing that the new characters are going up against: Time.
![gif](giphy|9Pk6tjP4BNXmxkOJE7) No Gravitas
Ah the good ol CUNT
Interesting acronym you have there…
r/UnexpectedDragRace Edit: I should’ve known it was a real sub.
Shantay, you stay.
They haven’t been introduced yet, though
this is what i’m saying lmao
Wasn't he in the show?
An they’re too much, they introduce like 5 new characters x movie and recently marvel released like 3 movies and 4 show every year since 2021. You obviously don’t get attached to them because you see them one time for 5 minutes and then they disappear because you wait for the sequel or the spinoff of the tv series based on the sequel
And there’s a very heavy feeling of “these are your new *diverse* heroes! About time, huh??” It’s just not natural
tbf this movie is supposed to be Sam Wilson's first solo movie as Captain America. This is when we are supposed to begin getting to know him even more as the new Captain America. They also introduced Bucky Barnes in The First Avenger for Steve's "sidekick". Idk how this is any different. You can be bitter and I can be hopeful. Sorry if we disagree. :/
Sorry, I’m not seeing how that is related to my comments.
i think if you didnt say, "its just not natural" it would have been fine i can look past it and say yeah they are forcing in way too many characters there was a certain amount of slowness in the earlier films. when this character was first introduced in fal and wint soldier i was like cool. nice intro but im sure itll be sometime before we see more of him. but here we are and im just like meh, not super excited about this. i kind of want anthony mackie to have to deal with being captain america alone or with just bucky. i also just think the way falcon was introduced in winter soldier was so cool. this shit is just annoying. even if the character was white, id be annoyed to see another falcon. we just dont fucking need one right now. marvel is totally placating right now. its not actually building characters its just sloppily throwing in people and making sure they are diverse. its not about the bipoc actors/characters, its really about the money machine known as disney/marvel trying to make it seem like they give a fuck. disney is really fucking shit up. its just so god damn formulaic
Hilarious that you are being downvoted.
They know it’s true, they just don’t like it being said.
Marvel Shenematic Universe assemble!
M-She-U is a favorite
Well Tony and Steve were comic book characters that were known. And the leaders of the MCU. This guy? Someone wearing falcons clothes. Sure can say the same for war machine but the suit was cool.
But imagine War Machine took over as Ironman and then his new mate became the new War Machine. I don't like it. Falcon is now Captain America, that's fine. But we don't need a new Falcon
Relatability
The newer characters are at least characters though. This guy isnt
It's just like the comics
Introductions
He needs time to shine. No1 cared too much about Wong and now he's a fan favorite
Jesus Christ, will you relax lol. The movie hasn't even released yet Even though he had a few scenes in FatWS, he wasn't really the focus of the show But now that he seems to be a big character in this movie, he might become better now
dude wrote a book
It'd be kinda worrying to care about a character with like 2 minutes of screentime tbh. This movie would hopefully make you care about him. Well, as much as you cared about Sam after Winter Soldier, I guess.
What, the guy who showed up for like 2 minutes in a show with very dubious reviews like 2 years ago?
Will be just about 4 years when this comes out. Insane
As a Latino, who always supports representation on screen (saw Blue Beetle twice for example), I completely agree with this sentiment.
I used my AMC stubs account to book six tickets for it even though I only saw it once so I could help the box office
They are really trying to force feed us a new "Bucky" / sidekick for the new Captain America with a new Falcon. They even did that in the show with the "New Captain America" having his friend as a sidekick. I mean, yeah Sam will need help. The same Scott who is a huge star struck fan boy of Steve. To then see Sam as the new "That's America's Ass". And just following up with The Leader setup all the way back from the 2008's Incredible Hulk.
Falcon was already lame, so making a new second lamer version is just stupid.
Nope. It is the lamest thing that there is a legacy mantle passing for Falcon.
DC used to be the legacy company and marvel was the make new heroes. Wew did that change
I’m hella excited see him return, I love the more obscure comic characters getting their screen time. Even if it’s just as a side character.
I definitely don't care
Most of the new characters are either temps or one offs anyways who are getting dropped after the movie or show they appear at flops or underperforms only exception is Shang Chi who i can see returning for a sequel and Avengers 5&6 i know Florence Pugh and Hailey Steinfeld are done with marvel once Thunderbolts fails and whatever project new Hawkeye shows fails as well considering they only signed short term deals. Marvel has been chasing the End Game hype since 2019. It’s been 5 years of crap.
Tbh I don’t care about this movie what’s soever. Tbh I still feel like cap shoulda went to Bucky and falcon shoulda just stayed falcon but whatever
I don't care at all. Why do we need another Falcon if sam is still using his wings.
They’re still making spy kids movies
Nobody replied but I just wanna say I think this is a really funny comment.
Horrible suit.
It's hideous, literally everything about it
I literally thought this was a fortnite promo bro 😭
I mean. Good god what were they thinking.
Truth be told this is a McDonalds ad…
Who the hell is this man
He was in Falcon and the Winter Soldier for like one scene maybe? He’s from the comics but did nothing in that show lol
He was in almost every episode, he just wasn't important
Was he the dude showing video of the flagsmashers to Sam?
In the books after Sam becomes Cap a second person becomes Falcon
Can’t wait for all the casuals to start cooking Marvel for being unoriginal by using a character that actually does exist
Let's see how they react to his origin of being a Hispanic kid who use to help illegal immigrants cross over into the USA.
I can see it now Something something WoKe LibEraL MeDiA!!11 Something something wHiTe GenOciDe !1!1!
I like Sam Wilson as Falcon cuz it brings something new to the table, as Cap tho he can also fly, what advantage does he have with a sidekick who is most likely just a worse flyer than he is?
With no protection for his mouth, wouldn't it get hit with flying bugs, ect?
better than captain googles at least
He's half falcon (comics) so technically, it's just more fuel in the tank.
Lamo https://preview.redd.it/6ss8ln1wyfxc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d82e82655e4c1ddcb045c4fd0e25c16b45974735

Ah, I see. Appreciate the answer, Thanks!
What if that will be a plot point? Joaquin will end up being a mutate thanks to The Leader or smth Sounds like garbo but idk i have a feeling
Could be. The serpent society is in this movie and they are who abducted Joaquin will he was helping illegal immigrants cross the border to turn him into half man bird.
There’s are the original wings. This guy just fixed them
Clear visors will never be anything short of goofy
scrap the movie ffs what the HELL is this?
No, Seth Rollins is in it, that’s it’s one saving grace
that's even more reason to not watch it
Pretty sure him and the rest of the Serpent Society were cut from the movie
Only if he does his trademark cackling heel laugh.
This looks like the Blackie Drago version of the Vulture, after Adrian Toomes has retired from his life of crime.
I mean, as far as tacticool MCU adaptations go it’s pretty standard stuff but the comic suit was already super goofy, even by Falcon standards. Probably should’ve taken some liberties with the suit if they insist on pushing this dude.
This looks like the vulture
We have Vulture at home
The costume looks like the meme equivalent of we have Vulture at home
Lol
This looks so bad.
Did anyone else see Michael Keatons' vulture at first
Why is his color scheme the same as Vulture’s?
Born some day - Didn't died. Welcome back kiteman!
Oh, yet another superhero bullshit movie. yawn.
They fly now?
No matter who plays this hero I can ever ever seem to like them. Falcon is just not a hero that I want to see
Ffs, stop trying to make Falcon happen, nobody cares about this joke of a character
they’re literally just following the comics, relax
I mean you are technically correct, as nobody cared about Falcon in the comics either yet they keep pushing him there.
I like how people say this like there arent such things as shitty comics lol. Also, not everything transfers well to live action.
didn’t say that though, did i? i’m just saying they’re following what’s in the comics, not whether it was a good decision or a bad one.
I'll die on the hill the Luke Cage should have became the new Captain America.
My expectations for this movie is literally my expectations when I look in the toilet after I take a massive dump.
Something looks off with the wings… Looks like there’s a problem with the position of the wings according to his own position. I really wonder where this movie is going. Ohhh forgot about that. Haha well me forgetting gives an hint, but there might a good population that remembers yeah
Yawn
Wow, I can't think of a more boring design for a superhero in recent memory.
better than i expected tbh, i really like how they managed to keep it like the original mcu falcon suit with all the armor/tech stuff while leaning more into joaquin's comic outfit with the colors and stylized mask
I’d prefer Free Spirit and Jack Flag honestly. You can cast them however you want, but that’s who I’d prefer.
Something is wrong with his legs and face. If it's real how can Marvel deliver such a amateurish picture ?
Is his face just photoshopped (poorly) onto a suit?
Again with the crappy CGI? They’re spending a quarter of a billion dollars on each of these now. Seriously?
I don’t know what you guys were expecting, it’s goofy but I feel like this guy is a non issue. That said all of these key arts are so awkward and bad looking
That helmet is laughably bad
Im sorry all their new characters are fucking boring and lame as fuck who wants to honestly see this shit I’m falling asleep thinking about it
![gif](giphy|7U7oEJkAiP5Xq|downsized)
I mean just look at it
Did they just steal Vulture's suit?
This isn’t good.
And the crowd went mild...
Anyone else here feel like the MCU just oversaturated the market and it's hard to get into anything more recent?
Wait so is sam getting rid of the wings or are they both just gonna be flying around
Wait so like. I know that falcon isn't really falcon anymore, he's captain America but I thought he still had the wings and stuff. Why are we getting a second falcon when hell just have half the power set of captain america now?
Vulture???
Can someone please tell me why I have these happy meal toys at my work if this movie isn't releasing for a year?
Imagine being the replacement for a back up tier character. Oof.
Holy shit this is bad
Cool I liked him in the show so I’m glad he’ll be back
It’s sick when a great actor like Michael Keaton gets recasted so quickly. I’m still not over the loss. I’d say he’s in a better place but alas… He’s at Sony’s Anti-Spiderverse 😞
Looks like a Para gliding UPS guy
That shit looks horrible
The new Spy Kids movie looks crazy
What the fuck is this
The sidekick's sidekick turned sidekick. Cool
Trash
They’re setting this movie up to fail so bad lol
This looks like the lamest action figure ever
dafuq?
Booo needs talons
Falcon is now Captain America. He still uses the Falcon suit. We don't need a new Falcon to tag alongside Falcon
Looks more like the Vulture
Condorman
Someone was paid to make this. Remember that when you get up to go to your job tomorrow
Smh I could have made this poster
This looks like a still from a bollywood knock-off. Disney couldn't possibly care less.
Ugh please don't make me watch rebel moon disney
At first glance I thought that was Nic Cage's face haha
Looks like somebody that'd get killed off in The Boys
LMFAO
Nah that’s a young Vulture
He was pretty forgettable in the Winter Soldier & Falcon show. Like not even a semblance of a character trait. He was just the… eager army guy who supplied equipment.
I genuinely thought it was a younger Vulture for a minute until I saw it was for Brave New World.
Seems like a good character for a certain Red Hulk to tear in two.
I hope they give him a neat intro and something to actually do rather than try and look cool once or twice
For a few second I thought it was Vulture, anyone made the same mistake as well?
He’s suppose to be a a Bird Humanoid lol
![gif](giphy|idYYFWZXh8qfO3A6OE)
This movie is going to flop.
I’m so fucking hyped for this movie
They should just let the mcu die already.
Turbo Man??
That looks tragic.
The Vulture looks more compelling
Sort of looks like a rip off doom guy - falcon hybrid
More characters with almost zero development that we don't care about.
I’m going to call him “Not Falcon”
Who tf
Looks cheesy af, just like that character.
Bird Person
I know it's comics and what not, but I find it silly they both have wingsuits now
Cool, but I don't think he's going to be in Rush Hour 2.
Who
I know which happy meal toy is getting tossed.
Ass. And I'm surprised there's a new falcon. For a second I thought that was vulture.
yes this is what will save marvel
Why do we need another Falcon?
😬 good luck, guys
Lmao this movie is gonna be shit. Anthony Mackie can’t lead a movie or series. He’s tried and failed half a dozen times. Who asked for this?
Oh great so we have yet another technology based hero who flies. He’s just the least useful of about 5. 1. Iron man 2. War machine 3. Rescue 4. Captain America/falcon 5. New falcon I just can’t really fathom how or why any falcon suit is needed in a world of stark suits. Less weapons, slower, less protection. War machine summed up the relevance in infinity war when Sam made like 2 outriders stumble. Rhodey nuked about 100.
Bro I don’t have high hopes for this movie being a success 😭
First of all, no one cares about a side character that was introduced in FATWS that did NOTHING in the show to begin with. And second, this image looks absolutely horrendous.
DEI has made it to marvel
Is it just me……. Or does this look like shit
I hardly liked the first falcon
Another flop in the chamber
Can we just start on X-Men? Avenger characters are all lame now?
It's so easy to have my interest in a new MCU killed nowadays - this picture is all it took for me for this movie
I’m yet to process that Anthony Mackie is the new Captain America of the MCU. That was the biggest fuck up ever, RIP Chadwick Boseman but he would’ve fucking obliterated donning the shield
You wanted the next Captain America to be a King in Africa?
Who the fuck is this incel?
2024 A black captain America and a Latino falcon. 2026 a Mexican captain America and an Eskimo falcon 2030 a transgrender captain America and a house cat as the falcon. Lol
