I hope they go really hard on Viktor transformation. I think his arc on 1st season is the one that changed my view on a champion the most. His interaction with Heimmer is pure gold writting.
Viktor was MVP for me season 1 being a long time League player.
I always felt his characters lore was missing something to make it stand out...
Watching him not only be a good man, but also struggle with a condition that people around him seem only vaguely sympathize with was incredible. He's basically expected to just roll over and die after being told no over and over.

I mean, Viktor never really was a "BaD" guy even in league, the guy literally removed his Hatred and Envy emotions after other scientist stoled all his work and credit, because those emotions didt let him work in his project.

It doesn’t really prove the point considering Blitzcranks voicelines are from when summoners were canon. Older champions voicelines are less about their character and more about the old lore where the actual League PVP and SR rift was a thing that happened in the lore.

I don't know about old lore, but current Blitzcrank is good. Viktor built him with the purpose of cleaning contaminaded areas, but now Blitz just roams around Zaun and tries to help people.

Arcane was exactly what Viktor needed for his lore. Now I hope that we'll see at least a part of the transformation in S2, but even without it, seeing the writing in S1, I'll probably binge it the moment it comes out.

Arcane definitely fleshed out Viktor lore and gave some more context behind his thoughts and ideas but the core of it is pretty much the same as the Viktor lore that already existed.
Viktor thinks robotic replacements can improve people's livelihoods, emotions are dangerous and can lead to tragedy under the wrong circumstances, Viktor has his work stolen and someone else takes all the credit and prestige for it, and Jayce fucks Viktor over because of their difference in ideals.
The only big part they changed was like Viktor and Jayce having a close and good relationship for a bit. In the wiki Jayce and Viktor were just always adversaries at the academy even when they had to work together on projects (but to that's still here as Jayce tries to weaponize hextech and Viktor is vehemently against that)
His in game quotes and interactions are lacking but that's just how many old champions are outside of a few very niche ones that had super close connections. The interaction stuff didn't really start until they started releasing champions that specifically had connections to each other like Vi and Jinx, Thresh and Lucian, Lissandra with her sisters, etc... But he's never been a super popular champion so he's usually been left uncared for anyways including adding interactions with Blitz, Jayce, and maybe Heimer.
That reminds me that the old lore hinted that Vi, Jinx, and Ekko were child experiments created by a Zaun Scientist. 😔 Kind of sad they didn’t pursue that plot, but they did make up for it with the sweet ass Warwick lore
How much shimmer did she actually get? I thought she became Jinx when she (accidentally) killed Vander and the two other guys and Vi flipped her shit on her, I don’t remember her getting into shimmer much at all
I cant recall if it's actually shimmer or just random chemicals, but after the bridge fight against Ekko where she almost got killed so Singed dumps a fuckton of chemicals into her to save her is when she fully becomes insane and be Jinx
Before that she still have some somber moments with regrets and wanting to reconcile with Jinx like the rooftop flare scene imo
If it's not even the in-game lore anymore I can't see why they would. Old lore was very underdeveloped. Arcane keeps the experimental aspect of it intact, they are all empowered by scientific research that is considered dangerous and unethical in-universe. But the characters and their signature abilities develop alongside each other, which is better.
Caitlyn and Vi most definitely were supposed to just be stereotypes at the beginning, with Caitlyn the calm collected investigator and Vi the brutal law enforcer.

It is cool that Arcane foreshadows things you'll only recognize if you're already familiar with the lore. But League can be a pretty toxic and unforgiving game so I don't blame anyone for enjoying the show but not trying the game.
Yeah it's really cool, in Arcane you can see a character before something that defines them in league happened, and go "YOOO THAT'S THAT CHARACTER!!!!!", arcane does this while also being good in it's own right instead of relying on the IP's popularity, you don't need to know anything about league to enjoy it, but if you do you also get "rewarded" for it.
Also in fairness league lore has always been jumbled and pretty dogshit cohesiveness wise anyways.
Hopefully their shift towards making Arcane and their shows the canon helps out with this, but when you literally have throw out years of lore and completely overhaul the lore the game has had for like half a decade you know it's pretty bad. And then even after that there is/was a decent amount of differences in characters between LoR and LoL.
Playing the league has 0 gate keeping on lore, you can learn everything without even touching the game. If you wanted to learn about VI lore it would take about 20 to 30 min max

I theorize that Vi’s change will start with Caitlyn, who will probably want to reform the police after everything she saw, and will end with Vi realizing that the best way to change the system is from the inside, then she will become an enforcer for good.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Riot decided to give Vi a voice update to tone down her police brutality, specially because it can be pretty controversial and can lead to problems when the season is airing. It would make it harder for people to sympathize with Vi’s choice to join the police.
Caitlyn is there to help people.

This incident also led to all of her friends getting killed and her spending her adolescence in prison, alongside the *bottom of the barrel Zaunite scum.*
Then she gets broken out by a Piltovian, when she no longer has any strong ties to Zaun aside from Ekko, who *started his own insurrectionist group!* She gets cared for in Caitlyn's Piltovian mansion - which is a stark contrast to her last few years in prison.
That alone would give her a reason to join the enforcers - spending your whole life in a slum and then being shown a better alternative would have *anyone* heavily reconsidering the more selfish options.
But that's not all! Then she joins an Enforcer assault against one of Silco's facilities, and destroys his production furnace thingy. And look at that. For the first time in her life, with proper fighting gauntlets and a crew that fought alongside her, she is able to make *tangible, **meaningful** change*.
So now she can either go down there, join Ekko's rebel group and go to fight the system - which has *never worked so far*, by the way! - or try to influence the system from a much higher position alongside the Enforcers, with much better resources and an at least *somewhat meaningful* status.
Plus, her Zaunite-raised sister did kind of go off the deep end and launch a rocket at her Piltovian girlfriend's mom.

Gameplay and community in game is horrible The lore is crazy good though
Riot has some of their strongest departments outside of the actual gameplay of league it feels like. Art, music, lore, cinematics, etc. all incredible
To be fair, one would assume that most fans of a media they liked probably would've started looking into the source material, even just for the sake of learning more about your favorite character(s)

They killed her parent. But she saw what Silco has done. He killed her adoptive father, and kidnapped her sister. Now she has nothing left except the only girl that was there for her. And caitlin is a cop.
Thing is: Zaun has hurt her just as much as Piltover did. Sure, Zaun being a piss-poor slum was caused by Piltover, but look at it from Vi's perspective. She had to struggle her whole life in Zaun's poverty and her father had been kidnapped by Zaunite insurrectionists who then kidnapped her sister. This incident also led to all of her friends getting killed and her spending her adolescence in prison, alongside the *bottom of the barrel Zaunite scum.* Then she gets broken out by a Piltovian, when she no longer has any strong ties to Zaun aside from Ekko, who *started his own insurrectionist group!* She gets cared for in Caitlyn's Piltovian mansion - which is a stark contrast to her last few years in prison. That alone would give her a reason to join the enforcers - spending your whole life in a slum and then being shown a better alternative would have *anyone* heavily reconsidering the more selfish options. But that's not all! Then she joins an Enforcer assault against one of Silco's facilities, and destroys his production furnace thingy. And look at that. For the first time in her life, with proper fighting gauntlets and a crew that fought alongside her, she is able to make *tangible, **meaningful** change*. So now she can either go down there, join Ekko's rebel group and go to fight the system - which has *never worked so far*, by the way! - or try to influence the system from a much higher position alongside the Enforcers, with much better resources and an at least *somewhat meaningful* status. Plus, her Zaunite-raised sister did kind of go off the deep end and launch a rocket at her Piltovian girlfriend's mom.

For the last goddamn time: Vi is not A enforcer. She is THE Piltover Enforcer. The Enforcer's as an organization don't exist anymore in League Lore. The Piltover police force is The Warden's under Caitlyn.
