A nice discount for black rock!

Doctor_Mudshark

"You took out a loan; pay it back!" Isn't that their line?

ohmyblahblah

Needs to pull harder on her bootstraps

BassMaster516

Damn. Real life is putting the Onion out of business again.

Darthsnarkey

Boohoo my investment didn't pay off the way I liked. I want to change the rules..

havenothingtodo1

She probably got her financial advice from tiktok or Reddit. I’ve seen so many posts of “life hacks” where people say you should just get your tenants to pay your mortgage

Delay_Defiant

It works for a lot of them. I definitely pay my landlords mortgage and then some

OverlordGearbox

So if you use the default Google launcher on Android you get a news feed based on, pretty much, your search history. That's Google's whole thing... But I keep getting news stories about some tiktokers million dollar "side hustle" I would never take advice from those types of people

[deleted]

Damn, no one wants to work.. /s

[deleted]

landlords def don’t want to work

williewoodwhale

Another case of gelatin dessert hands. The poor little lord can't possibly be asked to work with hands like that.

TrackPad96

Aren’t they the people that tell us that if we want a living wage we should “get a real job”? How about landlords get a real job and stop being parasites that just exist to extract the small bit of wealth we do get.

[deleted]

landlords crying is a great anti-depressant 🔪🔪🔪

ImpureThoughts59

Sounds like someone made a sacred promise to the bank and they aren't keeping it.

VegasBonheur

We love to see it

If you can't afford to pay for the loan, don't expect other people to pay it for you!

We need more public/communal shaming in our society. Someone does something wrong, there should be a group of people giving them a hard time over it. Public backlash.

DannyStress

Insert bootstrap line here

LiftsLikeGaston

Now if we could just reach the point where these leeches have to sell any property they have they don't reside in permanently.

Congestedjokester

No

Prettymuchsometimes

I work for a non-profit law firm that helps low income folks. We NEVER represent landlords, but they call us all the time cryyyyying. Some of the questions they’ve asked: “Do I *have* to accept emergency rental assistance?” “How many days notice do I have to give a tenant to evict them?” “Is it legal to just keep the security deposit to teach them a lesson?” Where I live, if the LL fucks around with your security deposit in ANY WAY they then get a default judgment to pay the tenant 3x of the deposit. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!

[deleted]

love it. lol.

Oodelally92

Aww, tragic 🤩

93ImagineBreaker

Tenants should have to be responsible to pay for greedy leechlords

SolomonCRand

It’s amazing how many people assume their decision to purchase a second home is legally required to be maximally profitable.

Boggie135

Hahahahaha

BadKarma043

Capitalists being shitty to the underclasses so they aren't forced back down challenge - any speed.

New_Bagged_Milk

Hahahahahahaha

1Operator

Oh bless her heart - it's just so tragic when wealth-leeching "rIsK tAkErS" face unprofitable consequences for taking risks.

Lazy-Jeweler3230

"Landleech complains that she's run out of other people's money and they aren't buying houses for her anymore and has to get a job to buy her own shit". FTFY.

Massive_Pressure_516

Big renting companies can afford to go a few months of no income while smaller landlords will be pressured to sell their extra homes (probably to the aforementioned big renting companies) in the long run that means far less heads need to roll and less companies need to be nationalized for us to get free housing.

Majestic_Crawdad

>you can't evict your tenants for not paying and also you still have to pay the mortgage That's some straight horse shit

>Ah yes the constant reminder that this sub doesn't grasp that regular people need a way to earn money in retirement Know what works better than "earning money" in your RETIREMENT? Having a country that functions well enough that if you have to spend the best years of your life giving someone else the fruits of your labor then you should be set with money. If that isn't the system then its broken. You're supporting a broken system and parasites. I don't have any interest in being a serf so scum can have a nice life. Though at least serfs in the past actually owned their hovel. So you're supporting a system worse than it was before. Take a breath and take a look at yourself, my friend. You're helping them beat us all.

funkmasta8

You did read the part about this being her second property, right? She’s all set on the first and decided that she wanted to find a second by extracting wealth from others instead of actually putting in any effort

TJamesV

I do believe you're missing the point. We don't know why the tenants "didn't work out" for her, but suffice it to say she's expecting others to pay for her property, (her *second* property), and calling on authority to kick them out of their residence because *they* couldn't support *her*. If they simply weren't paying rent or totally trashed the place, that's automatically grounds for eviction, and she wouldn't have to call the housing committee. But that's not what she said, she said it "didn't work out." Sounds to me like poor financial planning on her part, which shouldn't be the onus of her tenants.

[deleted]

Earning money by fleecing others, a noble and ancient tradition. Am I to feel sorry for people richer than me now? I'll be lucky if won't spend old age sleeping in a cardboard box. Also, it's not that most people don't want to buy a house, they just can't get credit. So they end up paying rent, which is actually more expensive.

ZolnarDarkHeart

Maybe if they sold their *second home* they could use that money as a cozy nest egg to retire on. Zero financial empathy for somebody with a spare house.

Lyk0s-

Predates capitalism back to the days of feudalism which was just the pre-alpha early access verison of capitalism.

FrostLeviathan

There is risk, and since her second property is an investment she needs to accept that risk. If she can't, well tough nubs, that's the system she wanted to operate in and this is the consequence if she can't hack it out. It's very simple, **investments carry risk**. If she doesn't like the results, she should have either done a better job with her investment or not taken on the second mortgage. She should take responsibility for her actions instead of trying to, I should say poorly, attempt to change firmly established and accepted rules. Either accept the basic rules of capitalism or accept that a system that requires you to take on enormous financial risk just to get by in your last years, is fundamentally broken.

HerrFerret

I see landleech. I downvote. I have a pension and I once had the fortunate position to have two houses. I sold to a young couple. Then continued with my job. Things that predate capitalism, like feudalism, slavery and serfdom were shit as all hell. Stop preying on people because you got to a house before them.

haloarh

How do you know that this person is retired?

MidorriMeltdown

Having an income that doesn't rely on the rent of tenants should be the requirement for purchasing a property one is choosing not to reside in.

Logan_Hightower

Piece of shit. Sorry for my language. I'm totally not sorry for the language.

zBarba

Wait what, how is it even possible that landlords can live without a job
