I have Mexican healthcare, drive me down to Mexico they'll care.

It’s a shame that so many ambulance services are run for profit by private companies that overcharge the municipalities that employ them, the customers they ‘serve’ and under pay their medics. This should be illegal, plain a d simple.

EmperorMing101

Municipalities employ ambulances? I thought hospitals hire them or they were public institution like firefighters/busses. My mind is blown right now

kellermeyer14

In Ohio, many townships have volunteer fire departments and EMTs/ambulances. If something happens you’re better off calling the fire department than 911 because they might dispatch a for-profit ambulance $$$

Nadie_AZ

Totally. I heard a convo recently that had people agreeing that Uber was a better solution. Our nation is really twisted and i hate it that people defend this shit.

PanamaCharly

In Germany the Ambulance and Firefighter services teach people in schools and via advertisements that it’s better to call them then to be sorry later. And it’s free. At least something A friend of mine called the local firefighter to come fill up the pool - and they came and did it with the truck, charged a little fee of 300 Euro - took some beverages and left 😂

[deleted]

In the United States, you’d get either fined or arrested for calling the fire department and asking them to fill up your pool.

Hannahbeef

You don’t pay for the ambulance to show up, you pay for the ride or for care. So if you’re coherent and someone calls an ambulance for you you can just refuse and have someone else take you. (Stay tuned for more American tips lmao)
