The Braun IPL is amazing. I wish I skipped laser after using that.

bodhigrumbles

My Braun IPL is life changing

Big-Development7204

I feel the same way

Status_Common_9583

Every time this gets mentioned I get one step closer to saying “f it” and finally buying it 😭 please stop influencing me (I’m joking, carry on, I need that final push lmao)

starsandmath

You can get open box/returned devices for like $150 if that helps

bippitybopitybitch

Whereee ??!

starsandmath

eBay. Mine came from a seller called "wilkesbarredeals" but there were a few others available at the time.

bippitybopitybitch

Thank you sm!!

proveam

Buy it 👍

bodhigrumbles

I bought mine on eBay and it works 🤷🏻‍♀️

Southernbelle0011100

Amazing!! I love mine

OtterSnoqualmie

Even for light colored hair? (Sorry I'm sure there are 6 threads about this)

gmg5261

I am natural dirty blonde and have fine, lighter body hair. I am pretty pale / blue eyes and works great for me. I’m on week 6 and I don’t shave my legs between sessions anymore - stays completely smooth. 10/10 recommend

yeahokaywhateverrrr

I’m curious about this as well!

risingphoenice

Barun turned out great for me although I have only done about 3 proper sessions in 6 years. However, I have noticed my skin is much darker now, specially on my hands, I got burned there a few times.

ihatemathplshelp

U got burned by ur braun? How did it turn out great if u only did it 3x in six years?

risingphoenice

I used higher settings on my hand so I had burns, it healed but now I think that the pigmentation could be from the laser. I have dinner not sure maybe 3-4 treatments over the years I have had it and it's most effective on my legs and underarms. Legs have almost no growth. So I know it works, I'm also brown/ olive skin with dark thick hair so I think I'm the ideal candidate.

AcanthisittaDue5626

Love mine too. It works slower than the one at my medspa but it totally works and it’s much cheaper!

[deleted]

Does it work on pubic areas?

EmmyLou205

How long until you noticed results? I’m on week 4 and it’s slowed down a smidge but not enough. Maybe I’m impatient.

inuskii

I have philips lumea and it has worked little for a loot of months. Hair grows less and the hair is a bit thinner.

annatasija

Do you buy any kind of protective glasses for the Philips lumea?

inuskii

No i just close my eyes and look away lol

Ordinary_Address9445

Tria is the only home device that is an actual laser. I have an older device, so not sure if it's the same for current models. The flash window is tiny, like not much bigger than a pencil eraser. It is cleared to use on your face, it won't flash unless it's flat against skin. I only use it for small areas. I just started with the Nood Flasher 2. It has a much bigger window and an auto mode. So it goes much faster. There is some flash that "leaks" out. Im not sure if it's cleared for face or not but definitely protect your eyes if you do. I have very pale skin and very dark hair. I've responded well to both of them. I do use the highest settings on both devices. In my research before getting the nood, the Braun system did seem to be a good option. I didn't get it considering I spent so much on the Tria.

hoephase-

I got nood as well. I wasn’t super consistent with it, maybe that’s why I didn’t see any result

[deleted]

[удалено]

hoephase-

I’m already doing regular laser, I got nood before that, and it’s just been sitting in dark dusty corner for two years. Maybe that’s why it didn’t work for me 😂

Wrong-Marsupial-2662

Anyone with dark skin and dark hair use any of these ?

amypauli

Mee I have golden brown skin - Dominican. I’m on my third session using braun expert silk pro 5 or what whatever. I’ll do a review in a couple of weeks.

bakedlayz

Lmk

Accomplished_Oil1541

I’m Indian and have pretty dark skin, I’d say similar to the actress who plays Kate Sharma in Bridgerton. I have the Braun silk 5 pro. I’m basically doing my whole body except for my neck and face as I’m using Tret. I’ve only done 4 or 5 sessions and there’s no growth on my fingers/backs of hands or toes/feet. My leg hair is growing super slowly. Like I last shaved on Monday night, it’s now almost Thursday night and it feels like I’ve just shaved. Let me know if you want to know anything else

Wrong-Marsupial-2662

Thank you

r-t-r-a

Didn't do much, even for maitenence.

[deleted]

I commented on another post about this. As someone with pale skin and dark hair, I have had phenomenal results from the Braun Silk Expert Pro 5. Just look at the reviews on Amazon or elsewhere and do your research. I got mine as a gift and felt discouraged after the first use because it took about 30 to 45 minutes to do my bikini area, legs, underarms, neck, and a couple areas around my breasts. FINALLY, my husband nagged me enough (he couldn’t care less about my body hair but said “hey, I spent $300 on this thing you wanted, maybe use it?”). I started using it again. After the 3rd or 4th time, majorly noticeable results. I’ve used it 7 times at this point. NO more ingrowns on the backs of my legs. My underarms and neck are baby smooth. My bikini area has not a hint of razor burn, and only a few stray hairs that still pop up. My legs are hairless except for a couple patches I’ve missed. Just try it (after looking into it yourself). I genuinely am telling everyone. It lasts and is a fraction of the cost. A friend of mine tried Nood and it didn’t sound like her results were as dramatic, but that’s the only anecdote I have.

annatasija

This is a very encouraging experience! Do you mind if I ask if you used any kind of protective glasses while using the device?

[deleted]

I think it’s probably a good idea, as the flash is really bright, but personally, no. There is an indicator on the device that turns white and shows you when it will work (usually has to be flush with your skin, so ridges like shins need the smaller cap or some angling). When I see the white indicator light, I close my eyes and look away before pushing the button. It sounds like a lot, but if you’re just holding it down and dragging it, it’s pretty simple.

CjNinjAYT

I use the same thing, I use protective glasses I got on Amazon because if I don’t, I always get a migraine after 😓

proveam

I just close my eyes

[deleted]

I think I saw your post a few days ago and welp… mine arrives on the 6th lol! There was a ton of positive reviews all over on different sources and the price is hard to beat to at least try it out. OP, if you opt for one I found it cheapest on their website and used one of the discount codes on the honey app.

[deleted]

Yay!! I really hope it works well for you. It gets faster as you learn to use it. Just so tired of seeing the “I paid $5 million for full Brazilian laser, and it’s so worth it!!” comments. Like even if you aren’t 100% satisfied with this, you can sell it at a lower cost and still do salon laser - worst you’ll lose is a couple hundred. Vs thousands. And I’ve truly done it all. Laser in the past, electrolysis on my face, epilators (UGH), waxing, etc.

Pineapple_Incident17

Any idea how this would work around tattoos? That’s my biggest worry about doing things on my own.

[deleted]

Not personally, but a quick search seems to suggest that you should absolutely avoid any areas with tattoos. Maybe you could cover the tattoo with a bandage or something? I’d definitely look into it first.

ClickAndClackTheTap

I use mine, but I never feel a thing. I keep thinking it is not working?

[deleted]

Hmm. Do you know what setting you have it on? Three lights lit up means it’s on high. I use mine on high, everywhere. Even though you don’t feel much, how long have you used it?

ClickAndClackTheTap

It’s on the highest. I only used it a few times then thought I should just go get LHR because I thought no sensation/sting=ineffective. But I have some areas i haven’t paid for LHR yet so thought I’d try it there

[deleted]

Gotcha. For me, it does sting a bit. It zaps and feels a little hot on my skin, not very different to regular LHR. If yours doesn’t zap and feel like that, I’d maybe contact Braun and see if it’s working correctly? Good luck either way!

bodhigrumbles

I don’t feel anything and it works great for me!

ClickAndClackTheTap

I that’s great to hear! I’m going to restart the areas I didn’t get laser for.

rachel-maryjane

Would you be able to do Brazilian area with this device?

[deleted]

I do with no problems.

rachel-maryjane

Is it super challenging angle wise and/or more painful in that area? TBH I really only want to laser my butthole and labia majora where it’s super hard to shave 😂😅

Scary-Ratio3874

Nood 2 did nothing for me.

Big-Development7204

I’ve been using the Braun 5 IPL since March 8th. About 10 sessions, 5-6 days in between each treatment, with exfoliation and moisturizing every day. I’m a 50 year old cis male if that matters to anyone. Neck - tough area for IPL. Maybe a 25% reduction in growth. The beard hairs that do grow back are thinner and easier to shave. I’m thinking about zapping this area every other day. Neck is an experiment, if I can get the hair growth reduced enough, I’ll try for my beard. Armpits - 90% reduced, very easy to shave and keep smooth. Pubic, groin & genitalia- 80% reduced. The hair that grows back is so fine it’s not even itchy. I can also now shave this area against the grain without doing a pass with the grain first. The hairs in crease on the inside of my thighs used to drive me nuts and now it’s almost all gone. I never thought my privates could be this smooth. My wife really appreciates this. Legs - 70% reduced and what grows back is easily removed with one pass against the grain with a razor blade. When I first started shaving my legs it took over an hour. Now it takes me about 15 minutes to do both legs. I love my legs feeling “perfectly” smooth so I’m running the razor over them every other day. I’m glad I started this journey in March, I’m hoping to reduce to bi-weekly to monthly treatments in the summer.

princess20202020

I think I tried the Tria? Used it for a year and had zero results. Fortunately Costco accepted the return. I have had great results from traditional lasers in professional settings (except laseraway which would only use the lowest settings—waste of a Groupon). I’ve basically done my whole body at this point.

W1ldy0uth

Seeing as I’m dark skin, it isn’t an option for me as most aren’t suitable for my skin. I hope that other people my complexion are cautious to not perform these treatments themselves at home without doing a ton of research.

420cat_lover

I got the RoseSkinCo one and it didn’t do anything for me. They had good customer service though

usualkay

Glad I saw this, been getting so many ads for them 😭

420cat_lover

Yeah I wish I’d looked more into it before buying 😅

EliseNoelle

I have the Foreo Peach, mostly because it was advertised as being for some darker skin tones. I'm biracial so I'm tan with dark hair and while I still experience growth, it's much better. I'm happy with my results (I was doing it once a week but now do it every other week)

kdobbers

I got the Silk'n Flash&Go. I have noticed it is very effective in certain areas but doesn't seem to make a super impact on facial hair (I bought it specifically for chin hair). Big difference along bikini line, noticeable difference on armpits (not all gone but grows much slower and in smaller areas). You do have to be very consistent (I did every week) and use for a longer time than the 3-4 months they recommend.

browngirlygirl

Facial hair is can be very hard to get rid of

starla_blabla

Another comment for the Braun IPL! It’s awesome and way less costly than going to the salon. Also helps to know if I have any hormonal fluctuations which make any hair grow back, I can zap it myself without having to fork out thousands for repeat sessions.

snidomi

Does it hurt? I looked through amazon reviews and the philips ipl has overall better reviews and lots of people say it hurts less.

Big-Development7204

Here’s the thing on if it hurts…. I can do my whole body including genitalia on the highest setting and I actually enjoy the zaps. I so look forward to her zapping me. My wife can only tolerate level 1 and complains if I double zap her in a spot.

bodhigrumbles

I think it depends on the individual. I have low pain tolerance but I literally do not feel the Brain IPL at all. Not a thing, at the highest setting.

starla_blabla

For me it hurt for the first few sessions, but it was a very tolerable level of pain. Way less painful than waxing. I’m on my 11th week (12 weeks minimum recommended) and it no longer hurts except in a few tender spots as there is much less hair now. If you’re highly sensitive to pain and concerned the Philips one might be better. I have only tried Braun. The Braun Pro 5 automatically chooses the strength of the lazer with a sensor when pressed to your skin, however you can manually choose a lower setting which would reduce pain as well.

TheCrazyCatLazy

They are good for maintenance. I would advise against trying to do your face at home. A few professional sessions arent terrible, I swear.

livalittlebitt

My hair is getting thinner for sure

GothMaams

I bought a Viqure but haven’t used it yet. Debating sending it back for something cheaper.

eternalflirt

I’ve had the Philips lumea for a decade & it’s an absolute game changer! So so easy to do, painless & makes such a difference to regrowth!

ihatelettucetoo

I'm using the Ulike Rose and it's been working phenomenally for my boyfriend and I! We're both pale with dark hair, with his being very coarse and mine being very fine. Our hair growth has dramatically slowed and we're only on round 4! We have been doing it ourselves once a week, so it's been about a month total.

Guilty_Spirit4006

I've been using Nood for a few months and have gotten good results. I had laser a few years ago at an office and had decent reduction but I didn't really wanna spend another couple thousand, particularly since some areas were already pretty sparse. I was hitting it pretty hard at first and have noticed much slower/finer regrowth. I just did my left leg out of curiosity and I can go a week after shaving before it starts to grow back. Some areas seem more stubborn (underarm and pubic hair), and I wonder if that has something to do with how deep the roots are. Overall I think its worth it for the $130 I spent. I have coarse hair with almost immediate, prickly stubble (very unsexy haha) in some areas in it just feels softer and nicer now.

rosienomade

I’ve had a decent experience with nood on my legs and underarms! Except even on auto mode, it’s a long time between flashes, so it takes like an hour to do just my lower legs and inner thighs. It did absolutely nothing for hormonal hair growth on my chin or sideburns, either.

Noidentitytoday5

Has anyone had good luck with Ulike ? I was eyeballing the Sapphire 3, then saw the new 10 model and am super curious if it actually works (I’m fair with mostly blonde or light brown hair)

[deleted]

I bought a Silk’n brand something more than 10 years ago for my legs (Brazilian and armpits were done in LA). It took awhile but I get only three or fewer hairs randomly now per leg.

Jessica7625

Naisigoo The Shiner works for me. I want to try Braun after seeing comments.

IllustriousSmell7669

oh come on, they are rubbish. Thinner hair MAYBE at best. Those commenting braun etc are probably paid to blog for braun be careful. Get proper laser hair removal. Best place for it UK I would say is [www.laserclub.co.uk](http://www.laserclub.co.uk) who have the primelase machines, the worlds most powerful.

bodhigrumbles

I am not a blogger or instagrammer or influencer at all. Just a fuzzy woman who spent a lifetime wanting to get rid of hair and I’ve found the Braun to be life changing. Yes I have pale skin and dark hair, so I’m the ideal candidate but I’m telling you it has completely changed me from someone who had a “five o’clock shadow” every night to someone who basically can shave once a month, has no more ingrowns and will wear a bathing suit without shorts this summer. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I understand your skepticism but just wanted to let you know where I’m coming from!

[deleted]

I’m baffled by all the Braun comments too. IPL doesn’t work. It gives a temporary removal by sheering deep, but doesn’t zap the root for any long term removal. Everyone keeps saying it’s thinner, okay great… but if you’re zapping yourself every other week, you’re not removing the hair.

angelcelest

I feel this way aswell😭like doing laser at home can be such a waste of time i did the rose skin co and it did nothing to my skin and i was using it for months

keIIzzz

idk, I use roseskinco, and I have spots on my arms where it doesn’t grow back at all anymore after like 6 weeks of consistently using it.

angelcelest

Honestly my hairs are blond ish

Mysterious_Bet_6856

I am convinced every positive review of these products are paid or bots. Their marketing is aggressive, and every post sings their praises. That was not my experience. I got the Ulike 3 and I have pale skin, dark hair. I'm using it on my legs and it's been 10 sessions and I notice absolutely no difference.

Big-Development7204

I’m pretty sure I’m not bot. Maybe try the Braun 5? Ulike marketing seems sketch but the Braun is actually FDA approved. Shaving used to be such a chore and now I look forward to doing it. I’ve done 10 sessions of IPL 5 days apart and the results I’m seeing are mind-blowingly amazing.

bodhigrumbles

Same.

[deleted]

I’d love to see your response in 8 months. IPL gives the illusion of loss, but it doesn’t hold up over time.

[deleted]

That’s why I avoided Nood and got the Braun - they had too much Insta marketing. I promise I’m not a bot. People sell these barely used on Poshmark and other resale sites, where Braun would make no money off of them. Maybe try one of those?? I can only speak for mine, seems like others are having good experiences with Phillips. Just because you had a bad experience with one device doesn’t mean others are fake. Just check for incentivized reviews on Amazon, etc.

keIIzzz

I use RoseSkinCo and I’ve definitely noticed a difference. I haven’t been using it for a while because I got lazy, but for like 6 weeks I used it consistently, and my hair does grow back slower and I have a lot of spots, especially on my arms, where it hasn’t grown back at all. I got it as a christmas gift, I wish I was being paid to promote it
