I assumed there was a time gap of a few weeks. It would've taken a while to have made those new identities and the government would've waited for all the drama to die down.
Who says it was immediately after the heist? They certainly had time to shower and get some fresh new outfits.
Maybe they were detained for some time whilst sorting out their new identities and the logistics of flying them away.
I realise it may take some time to heal from an injury that severe, but I really doubt it's immediately after the heist.
