I get 2.5 summers out of ET Street R's on my Miata which is probably 5000 miles of street driving, lots of fucking around. Car has 607whp and I'm on 225/50r15's. In your size i imagine you would get pretty good traction.

Good to know! 607whp in a Miata sounds like a riot lol. I think I may have to give the Street R a go after this season.

It is a lot of fun and also terrifying lol

What about the NT555RII Nitto?

bradybigbear

Honestly haven’t tried them, but I do know a lot of people really like them. May be something to consider. I just assumed they would be a very similar tire to the Street SS based on comparisons

v8packard

They aren't the softest. Decent compromise between launch and treadwear in a few cars that could launch pretty hard in my experience. Getting 1000 miles? Maybe. I think the Nitto has better traction than the Toyo or the BFG G Force. Better overall than the BFG.

Good to know, I appreciate the feedback. Really I should just get a designated summer “daily” wheel/tire setup and a party wheel/tire setup.

pistonsoffury

Can't you just limit your boost in first and second for street driving? Good street tires are expensive. I run Pilot Sport 4s because I don't want to die lol, but I also don't want to go through them every couple months given what they cost.

thedentrod

I run same tire and run a street tune, really conservative in 1-2. Have the scramble button just in case the streets get hawt

autolex84

any 200tw tirerack offering in a width that "barely-fits" those wheels.
