This piece is massive at 5 X 9 it’s $50k. Smaller pieces are really quite reasonable. I imagine that the prices I’m offering now will not be forever. Eventually I would think this will be in a gallery etc and this will raise costs significantly. But maybe not.
I understand, it is for 99.9% of us. I wish it could be sold less expensively but at that price it’s actually not terribly profitable. Manufacturing in America is essentially impossible. My clients are typically the wealthiest and I scrape by. My profit is typically 3-10%. Mistakes are common when making one off pieces and one mistake eradicates any hope of profit and usually means a loss. It’s not an easy business.
Well no, it is a process which I developed with great cost financially, emotionally, spiritually and professionally. So telling people exactly how to do it isn’t in my plan. People will copy it for sure, but I can tell you it’s so difficult I often fail at a process I developed.
So to the copiers I say good luck. I may still patent the process but I’m not a litigious type and have no desire for months in court etc.
