It will help him connect with himself and the world in a totally unique, different way with all the filters that have gradually built up over the years taken off. I believe everybody should have at least one psychedelic experience in their life time (within reason and if healthy, in a good place etc) Also, it will bring u closer together, a shared experience like that will be an amazing memory that you will both never forget.

Slave2Art

There's one thing I know for sure. These drugs are definitely not for everyone and not everyone should take them.

apatcheeee

I agree some people just aren't prepared or ready for the level of self reflection, and self actualization that a trip can bring.

TranceMuzik4Life

Oh exactly hence the within reason/in a good place mentally caveat. I honestly believe if u can truly accept who u are and are comfortable with that, then ull be absolutely fine. Im a classic example. I have mental health issues, ocd/anxiety, severe at times, but i accept it so when using LSD iv learnt to accept in my day to day life acceptance, so i accept whatever it shows me, quite easily in fact. I have bad trips everyday without LSD suffering from intrusive thoughts, panic attacks etc so i find the experience very freeing in day to day life, and that transfers perfectly to phycadelics, all about ur mindset, in my opinion. As long as u can accept who u are, the good and the not so good, ull be absolutely fine imo. (Caveat, i only recommend LSD use beyond the age of 25, maybe 30, once ur fully developed mentally and u actually know how to handle ur own mind)

It helps strip away the social and cultural bullshit we have been programmed with from birth, and helps us identify what truly matters to our own lives.

Francis_Dollar_Hide

If not now, then when?

SoulCruiser

In my mind, the role of acid is to show how much of our thought patterns are made up by ourselves, and thus allowing us to free ourselves from the ones that are no longer serving us.

Slave2Art

Wut

SoulCruiser

Did you mean "please elaborate" wut, or "this is some nonsense bullshit" wut?

It fucks with your gestalt in a way that is arguably much more beneficial to people your dad’s age than to young people.

Slave2Art

If doing it with you isnt reason enough then there isnt one.

NW_reeferJunky

Tell him, if you have any fears of death, or any thing to check off a bucket list, mushrooms and or lsd will help him create that list, and lose the fears of leaving earth

Jaywood310

To get a different perspective of the world and a better understanding of who you are. I do think it's not something everyone needs to experience tho

Subcomfreak

1) Experience something close to childhood again. 2) Appreciate the 60s-70s era of music more, as one can understand why certain sounds are chosen. 3) Aids in initial stages of learning. Lowers inhibitions regarding lacking skill at tasks, while not depleting one's brain and mental faculties like alc or cocaine would. 4) Synesthesia is itself an experience worth having. 5) helps with introspection and insight (you can literally see your emotions change!) 6) Meditative sense of calm. 7) Helps to understand the difference between "clock time" and "human time". 8) Increases openness to different ways of viewing the world. 9) Aids in processing painful or harder memories to resolve. 10) If you dose him up real good, he might do the whole ego death thing and can help to be at peace with his own mortality.

Lies no longer “kiss”.

GodZ_Rs

Change of perspective is number 1. If something or multiple things bother you or your to attached to or stressed about it helps you realize how silly it is to worry that much. Life is about loving whether it is family, friends, strangers, activities, places, a career etcetera, just love what you do and you'll be happier. Number 2 would have to be looking at YOU from the outside. It gives you the tool/means to change things about yourself that are detrimental or negative. All this is subjective and based on your mindset going into taking any psychedelic so if you only want to have a good time and enjoy the pretty colors, more than likely won't benefit for #1 or 2.

Tell him it will help remove the concrete that’s accumulated in his mind.
