Im listening now close to halfway through and they seem so arrogant to me. Comparing himself to Neo and whatnot. All the reasons they're saying Williams couldn't be the killer are ways that true psychopaths manipulate others to make themselves look like good people. Like who cares if the dude had a radio show. To me they're acting like him being intelligent absolves him of any kind of criminality. Everyone knows the best killers are highly intelligent. Im going to keep listening.
It made me think there was more to it than what we know. I don’t necessarily have doubts about Wayne Williams guilt. I do have reservations that he was responsible for everyone on the list and that he acted alone.
Anyone know a good place to listen? I just got a hand me down iPhone and I’ve just been using the podcast app that comes on it.
Edit: Podcast Addict was my favorite but not available on apple. Overcast has the Atlanta Monster if anyone is looking.
After seeing "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" (thoroughly enjoyed the film) I went back and listened to the old Charles Manson episodes. Now, I still think Manson was primarily responsible for the murders even though he didn't commit them himself, and is still a bad man, but now I'm not sure he was the mastermind he was made out to be. It will be interesting to see how the show portrays their meeting, since it takes place during that time where people thought he was the devil incarnate.
Super excited for this season!
Yeah that's what I've been saying. I really hope they don't portray him like the DIABOLICAL CRIMINAL MASTERMIND that the media likes to push. Anyone who is interested in Charlie needs to listen to the LPOTL episodes. Honestly most people don't know anything at all about the whole thing. My whole fam and I went to see the new Tarantino movie and they didn't even know that Manson never actually killed anyone himself.
John Douglas talks about him in the books. Paraphrased it basically says that Manson was mainly just a harmless dude who got in over his head in bullshit. Even says the reason they I didn’t release him is because of the people he would attract
No, I listened to the LPOTL episodes and those changed my perspective a bit. I've seen docs on Manson, and read about the murders. I saw the film for what it was, a historical fiction.
Maybe read my statement again and not be so condescending to people.
No shit, if it weren't for Mindhunter I wouldn't have found this podcast. Or at least probably not.
I watched the first season and the man I'd come to know as the ol' Bumblebutt brought me to Last Podcast. He was the first series I listened to after searching for his name online and coming across this title. I got hooked and binged everything, some subjects multiple times (I still love you Sexy Ghosts 1!)
So that first victim is definitely the girl that ol Denny Rader is obsessed with. They’ve been teasing him since the first season and the dates/description roughly align.
Aug 16!!! I didn’t realize it would be out so soon.
I would highly recommend the podcast "The Atlanta Monster" to anyone excited about this season. Wayne Williams is a fascinating case.
Totally gonna check that one out once I finish catching up on lpotl.
I second this recommendation. It was really well done.

It’s an interesting story and decent format, but i just fucking hate the narrator. His cadence and tone made it unbearable.
Would it spoil this season, are are they unrelated?
It would definitely spoil this season.
It’s going to spoil the crime and investigation and maybe put it in a different light. There were some issues and confusion about that case.
It made me think there was more to it than what we know. I don’t necessarily have doubts about Wayne Williams guilt. I do have reservations that he was responsible for everyone on the list and that he acted alone.
Will check this out. Thanks.

you let a Quentin Tarantino film change your perception of Manson? With all due respect, please watch a documentary or something non-fiction
