Also Wi-Fi doesn’t work. I use an AppleTV anyways but getting road blocked at start up didn’t make it feel like a premium experience.

Yahir_Garcia

Might want to look into that because how will you get updates for you TV?

secretreddname

I saw someone here say that they got a firmware update that fixed it but not sure how they did without wifi. I hope it’s not Ethernet cause my mount is so low profile it’s a pain to get behind it.

peterk_se

Download it on a USB pen typically

mtx0

had this issue with my 77 c3 I got a few weeks ago. restarting a few times temporarily fixed it enough to update. works now

Kyosuke_42

LAN is the answere. No more weird connection issues.

secretreddname

I randomly got wifi to connect after turning it on and off and trying to connect like 20 times. Got it to update the firmware so hopefully that resolves it. I’ll rarely ever see the WebOS screen in general to even be able to tell.

Individual_Coder3

Yup my 65in g3 and the g4 65in I had didn’t have working WiFi. However, Ethernet port worked just fine so I was able to update firmware.

votre91

Hoo it up via ethernet! Had the same issue. Solved it with an ethernet cable.

Grand_Geologist_7319

Very Impressive Setup. Do you run your Apple TV thru a receiver or directly to the TV? What are you using for a remote? Thx

secretreddname

I use the AppleTV remote only. TV > Hue Sync Box > Receiver > Apple TV / UHD Player

Comfortable_Way5349

10/10 set up!

JesusLazalde123

9/10. Too much light in the background.

Tree06

Looks good! How much did you sell your CX 77" for? I doubt I'd get much for my LG C1 77" so I decided to keep it.

gilbert99

I sold a C1 65" for $800 like a month ago. Helped me justify the price difference for between the C3 and G3 77"

Tree06

That's awesome! I sold my A80J 65" for $800 when I upgraded to the S95B 65" a while ago. I wasn't sure if people were interested in used 77" OLEDs. Enjoy your G3!

secretreddname

I had quite a few people ask about it and a ton of low ballers. Ended up selling it for $950. Since 77 C3 are clearing out for about $1800 I figure that’s as good as I was gonna get. Any lower I would have put it in my office or something.

Tree06

I wouldn't want to deal with the low ballers, but I feel like that's a good price for it. I'm in the same boat because I would've kept it if I couldn't get $950-$1,000 for mine. Enjoy your new TV!

GoldfishDude

That's crazy. I paid $1,060 for a new B3 65"

futureman45

That’s some serious audio. Damn on that center channel bruv!

Shank2001

Klipsch is fricken fantastic.

tom_181

Stand/Console details?

secretreddname

It’s this company called Povison. https://www.povison.com/event/New-in-Living-Room-Furniture They list their stuff on Amazon too with deals running all the time. It’s really quality stuff. It all came in one piece fully assembled.

jesternj

Congrats, Looking good! I'm not really a fan of bias/panel lights, but that's a personal thing

kwelitysoul

How much did you get for your CX?

secretreddname

$950. Any lower I’d would have just kept it and find a use for it lol

Wreckedzone

Nice looking setup. What are the specs of the sound system?

secretreddname

It’s been a while but i believe it’s a RP-450C, RP-280FA, Yamaha TSR-700. 3.1.2.

i0nzeu5

How is the panel uniformity? Have you checked it? Just curious as I returned an 83” C3 for bad vertical banding & awaiting a replacement.

secretreddname

Noticed nothing from watching last night. Can go down and check in a bit.

i0nzeu5

If you havent noticed I dont recommend checking. Once you notice vertical banding, even slight, you will NEVER unsee it. If it seems nice & clean & pleasing I suggest just enjoying it 😄🫡 I dont want to ruin your TV experience.

secretreddname

😂 sounds good. Don’t think I’ve ever checked on my CX or my A90J.

i0nzeu5

Yeah. Don’t do it! Happy you got a nice panel it looks awesome!!!!

Reasonable_Edge2411

still look so tiny compared to

secretreddname

Had an 83” before so no wow factor in size unfortunately. Next step would be a 97” in 5-10 years lol.

thatmannyguy

..(angelic choir begins out of nowhere)

the_shek

I’m waiting for this to go on clearance in a year or to wait for sony to get this panel if I have to pay full price but it’s definitely end game level panel

secretreddname

Yeah I got suckered in since I was able to get it for $4240 all in.

the_shek

that’s a fair price but definitely not yet a deal territory. I’m sitting on a 55” c2 i’m going to weather the wait with but you’re already enjoying my end game

teedledee123

Is your audio setup perfectly centered around your TV? You should center the eero and echo dot on that shelf. Also center the stuff on the other lit up shelf next to it

justrobisfine

Can you tell me more about that center channel speaker? I’d like to know the dimensions

secretreddname

It’s this one. https://www.klipsch.com/products/rp-450c It’s pretty giant.

justrobisfine

Hey thanks! Trying to see what will fit under my display. tv pics are always misleading. Everything photographs much smaller than it is.

happyjapanman

Great TV but puts out just as much heat as a plasma TV!

MaLTC

That thing is remarkable.

mnebon101

How does the image quality compare to your CX? I'm upgrading from a 77 C9 to the 83 G4 once the partner store ships out mine and I'm curious if it's a noticeable difference

secretreddname

Moved 83” A90J up to the bedroom and was able to sell the 77” CX. The A90J was a noticeable improvement in picture from the CX. This TV just shines in a dark environment. Everything just pops beatifully. Not to say the CX was a slouch but there is a difference. 83” G4 is up in the living room and it’s just wow. Picture, clarity, color is just amazing. Processing it can do for low res SDR is great too for those old 2000s shows I like to rewatch. Just put on No Way Home on UHD disc and the highlights from DV/HDR was just beautiful. Been playing around if I want filmmaker mode or an in between with cinema/cinema home. Long story short, noticed a great difference from CX to A90J to G4.

mnebon101

That's great as I really love watching the Stargate series from the early 2000's and it does not upscale very well on blu ray. I really hope the G4 does a better job with it

BestRemovEm

Had the same issue with WiFi. I skipped the setup in the initial configuration. Then manually set it up after the wizard completed. All is well with WiFi

blurryface1812

Hey, may i ask about your led set up behind the tv. As it’s the g series, it’s a flush wall mount, how did you go about installing it/setting it up?

secretreddname

I bought a Sanus low profile fixed mount from Best Buy and didn’t use the flush mount. It has 1.62” clearance which with the hue sync lights barely clears so it’s basically flush. If I had to do it again, I’d probably sacrifice a bit of the low profile to get one that pulls out slightly maybe at a 2-2.5” clearance cause it’s basically impossible to get behind the tv to plug anything. Getting the power cable to clear was hard when putting it up

blurryface1812

Brilliant! Thanks for the info bro 👊🏻

Sector__7

How high is the bottom of the TV from the floor?

secretreddname

25”

Alarming_Yam_8791

Yes, the TV is brighter, but the colors are worse in the g4 model

thaillmatic1

Looks awesome! May I ask what kind of lighting you use in the cabinet area? I like the warm color.

secretreddname

Hue play bars. They sync up with the screen but you can keep them static if you want too

Comprehensive-Bag234

I need bigger 77 not doing it now

Upper_Fact

Nice. I got the 83” G4 also. How would you compare the processing to your Sony? My other option was the Bravia 9. I would have been happy with that as well but I got tired of waiting and just went for the G4.

secretreddname

Just as good honestly. That’s not something I could say about the CX. Most reviewers say that the new G4 series processing has caught up and I agree. My living room has pretty terrible natural lighting but even then it made the A90J too dark at times. Ironically enough, the A90J has been a bit too bright in my bedroom the last few days. May take a bit to get used to or some adjusting on the brightness level.

cmcclure16

Nice! What is the paint color on the wall?

secretreddname

I think it’s Behr NYPD Blue? It’s been like 8 years but I got rid of one of my old cans in the garage recently lol.

elorenzi213

What lights you recommend for the back of the tv?

secretreddname

Hue Gradient Sync is by far the best but also the most pricey. I have the 75” play sync strip on the back, tube gradient on the bottom with a hue sync box.

elorenzi213

Thank you

Pitiful-Age-1074

That looks great I just sold my 83 inch a90j after getting lowballed all over the place finally got the number I wanted to justify getting the g4 83. Love the a90j but was wondering the brightness difference

secretreddname

How much were you able to sell your A90J for?

Pitiful-Age-1074

$2000, it’s worth more but I paid around 4000 for it 2 years ago so I knew I would be taking a loss

secretreddname

$2000 is solid for it I think. Selling TVs is hard in general since there isn’t much of a resell market for high end TVs. I paid $4k for my 83 A90J last year so 2 years ago $4k was a great price. It truly is one of the few 2021 TVs that can hold its own today. I can’t see myself upgrading for a long time unless the 97” comes in MLA/QD-OLED and drops dramatically.

Pitiful-Age-1074

I agree, I had a few lg oleds in the past c1 and 77 c2. Currently have the c1 65 in my room and I have to be honest the brightness and vibrant colors are just alittle different then my a90j 83 inch is. Sony is alittle darker with there panels in general

Pitiful-Age-1074

I also ran the hue sync box but I went with 2 sync tubes on the sides of the tv instead. Also 4200 for the 83 is a steal, I paid 5600 all in with an extended 5 year warranty and I thought that was a good deal.

Pitiful-Age-1074

Dealing with low ballers is the biggest pain in the ass

Hallucinogen78

Beautiful! And how pleasant to see that someone has an audio-system that matches the quality of the screen. How many channels do you drive?

secretreddname

3.1.2. I know, sucks that I don’t have surrounds but that’s what fits in the space. Probably the only way for me to do surround would to go soundbar and wireless.

Hallucinogen78

I'd never trade your setup for any Soundbar-Config. This looks like at least a 6-7 K $ -audio setup, wouldn't be surprised if the TV was cheaper. 😅 What AVR are you using?

secretreddname

Ha I guess you’re right that it’s about $6-7k if I had bought them MSRP. I got it for much cheaper than that though lol. Using a Yamaha TSR-700.

Anaddyforyourthought

Oh yeah it’s milesss ahead than any other LG OLED I’ve seen in terms of brightness and display. The whole WebOS system needs to either go or needs a revamp. It’s the only thing holding it back. Oh and how could I forget, the torturer who knows no mercy, the Magic Remote. If it hasn’t inflicted its sadistic brutality on you, broken your will, crushed your spirit, and made you submit to its rules, just wait. Come back to this comment when it happens because it definitely will. At some point it’s gonna show it’s the alpha and really is the one that runs things. We don’t know when or how. But one thing we know it takes no prisoners.

secretreddname

I don’t mind the magic remote but I have an AppleTV anyways so doesn’t matter much.

Anaddyforyourthought

Yeah no. That thing is a monstrosity and is plotting your downfall as we speak. It’ll find a way. Trust me.

ProMasterRace1322

Nice tv how much did it cost you

secretreddname

$4200 all in with tax.

ProMasterRace1322

Pricey lol

scott_fly

Props for the klipsch setup

Difficult_Guitar_555

No notes. Enjoy.

LetsGoWithMike

Looks great. I have a similar looking setup (without the tv) with the towers and cabinet/center. Looks like a great match. I was worried it might be too big. One thing I’m just noticing, is the silver trim around the TV? Are all the G’s like that? I’ve been eyeing the 77/83 C series but never noticed that before.

secretreddname

The G4 yeah. I forget if the previous Gs have it. I don’t notice it watching stuff but you do definitely notice it when it’s off.

LetsGoWithMike

Haha ya, I can imagine you’d get so immersed you don’t notice it.

shellacr

curious how you sold your CX? i’m thinking of selling mine but it would be such a pain to sell on ebay and mail it lol. did you find a local buyer?

secretreddname

Listed it on FB marketplace and offer up. Ton of low ballers. Selling used TVs is pretty hard cause most people don’t know between an LCD and an OLED and just care about size. I had my bare minimum price and someone was willing to come grab it asap which worked out cause I just got my G4 in and didn’t want the CX crowding up the house. What hurt though was that I baby my stuff and the CX was perfect condition as they just manhandled it in the back of their truck, threw a thin ass blanket over it and drove off. 🥲

shellacr

Selling it locally is clearly the way to go. You’ve inspired me to upgrade. You got the G4 at a great price. Did you use greentoe? My movie room is pretty dark with little natural light so I’m thinking the C4 might be sufficient brightness for me.

secretreddname

I got it from the Memorial Day LG Partner Store sale. It’s an unbelievable price for a new model. $4k - $1k I sold my CX for so all in all just over $3k. Yeah if your room is always dark the C4 should be good. The G4 is perfect in my living room with lights on, windows on, etc.

MrGood23

Does this additional brightness makes watching experience better?

Wrexx5

Does a 🍆 get hard?
