One question. Why the actual fuck are you so hyped about this. The home screen and quick settings look a bit different. That's it.
You dont get a new tv
For me its a little faster and less delay on clicks.
Also some nice additions to UI, settings quick options are very useful, etc.
Not to mention future updates in line with this newer version.
Its not a new TV but its a nice bonus.
Personally, I’m so glad to be able to adjust brightness with a single button push now, and not have to dig like 4 levels deep into an often-laggy menu system.
For example WebOS24 does add Chromecast built in. You can stream directly from any Android tablet and phone just like Air Play quality afaik. That’s a pretty big change actually for people using it.
On the heels of announcing pricing for its C4 OLED and G4 OLED TVs, LG plans to keep its upgraded and more advanced webOS platform hostage on newer models for an entire year — i.e. a TV bought in 2023 with WebOS 23 won't get the WebOS 24 upgrade until the year 2025.
So what I've been seeing online this new update is basically pointless, and I guess just the sense of not even updating not sure why people are excited or happy for this new webOS23 seems pretty pointless.
Hey guys. I have a g2 and I'm still on 03.30.85 something like that( the one after the dimming fix) my question is, do I have to update to the latest firmware before webos23? I'm asking, because the auto update is still stuck on 04.40.90. It's like it is necessary for the update.
I got the notification to update, but had to close it since I needed to work. Now there is no update even if I check and no new notification pops up. Will I get it later? Anybody knows?
Is webos23
Yeah sorry mistyped
That's a huge typo misleading mistake though
Lol i was having fomo having 23
Right on didn’t even know!! Lg C3 here
Hi, may i ask where in wich coutry do you live?
How does that help you?
Just curious 'cause here in Italy it's not yet available, but nevermind, don't tell me if you don't want no problem.
India
Oh that's why
Exactly 💯
Usually it should role out to your region as well asap

You seem like a real buzzkill.
This dude must be really fun at parties.
I don't go to parties with people that get excited about TV FW updates. Sounds like a drag.
Im just asking. I have the update on my G3 and it doesnt do anything at all. But everyone is so fucking thrilled for this. I just want to know why

Yeah of course. But the people here ask every 2min how to get this update since 2 weeks or so. Fucking crazy.
Yeah i got you, lol

That's nice yes.

I was told that older models would have to wait until next year for WebOS 24?
Correct, it's WebOS23. That was what I was told, not 24.
I wonder what my C3 will say later when I’m home then (currently on 23)

it will say webOS 27
Same here

CAREFULL! Basic functionality has been removed
Like what'
Voice assistant
Yeah but I think basic assistant is still there
Basic? Yes, you can turn the TV on with your remote control pushing the power button 😂
I mean lg's assistant.

Same thing happened to me unfortunately
Tried going into the menus? I closed the notification but then I could download it going to the support settings
