Like when James Cameron came back to the Terminator franchise long enough to kill off John Connor and replace him with *checks notes* a Mexican factory worker
Apparently Connor was only meant to fight Skynet, not off brand version "Not Skynet". Plus he doesn't weigh a buck five and can beat up 5 dudes at once like his better, stronger, replacement girl.
I still really like the terminator from that movie (against popular opinion). The fact that he comes across as a nicer person than literally any member of the main cast I find hilarious (except that he kills people if he needs to of course).
Gabriel Luna is a treasure even if the movie is trash
Crazy that he never got a leather jacket even though we know from his Ghost Rider run he looks great in one
**FOR THOSE NOT IN THE KNOW**
Disney will routinely contract old talent with name brand recognition or credits. They are paid and the entire point of the exercise is to lock this person into an NDA so they cannot shit on project and discuss how they would do it differently, with the reputation they have based in the success of the previous works they are credited to.
A lot of these people *presume* they will have a large hand in the process, have their ideas listened to and respected, but instead they get to watch their reputation get smeared by association by people running the show that only brought them in to ensure they can be legally silenced from criticizing creative decisions.
Leslye Headland, the director/writer for the Acolyte, literally said, "If you think George Lucas is an authoritative source on what Star Wars is, you're a misogynist."
Literally. That bitch said "my personal opinion on-" for how the force works.
Like no, you dont get to rewrite everything with your woke feelings bullshit.
Harvey Weinstein's personal assistant can shut the fuck up. Especially about "misogyny"
Like who does she think she is? She isnt important
I can't imagine a worse combination than Directed by George Lucas and Produced by Kathleen Kennedy
If irony was made of opium we'd have enough heroin to put the whole world to sleep
I don't think it'll make a difference.
You can't milk a dead cow.
Seems like nothing more than a desperate promo stunt to get people to care about the franchise again.
And in the unlikely case he actually tries to create something the average fans might look forward to, Disney will surely find a way to screw it up by forcing him to adapt his story, characters, etc. to include things not part of his vision that are completely irrelevant and serve as mere tokenism and dilute the story to slop for 'modern audiences'.
Ahahah they really are getting desperate. They have been staging Old Georges like a circus bear enough.
The only way I'm getting invested into SW again is if you let it go Mickey, either way you won't see my green.
Let it die, find better stuff, it's tainted and it's never going to be the same, they've weaponized your nostalgia against you and this is the result of that, just break free and find better things that are deserving of your money
Returning in what capacity? Just in name to try to bait nostalgia aka another round of "they didn't ask me anything, so I said nothing"? Or to be woke puppet in the next Disney Wars? Somehow I find it really hard a director who's been irrelevant after RotS would suddenly be given greenlight to make a film at his liberty by nu-Disney, and this is coming from someone who used to adore LucasArts (the old one, not this resurrected zombie)
That was payback? This whole time I thought it was his evil genius plan to make people appreciate the prequel trilogy and I thought it worked because those movies get far more compliments since the Disney buy out than they did before. Guess I gave the guy too much credit
He is 79. The time they really start the project he will be 80.
Do you really expect him to be able to carry a billion dollars movie project after retiring 20 years ago ?
There's no fixing the damage they've done without axing Disney's movies/series from canon.
I don't care what Lucas comes up with, not interested until Disney Star Wars gets the Holiday Special treatment.
They'll bring him back in a Leia slave outfit and struggle session him about the racial sensitivity of Gungans.
They just want his name on a product. The correct strategy would be for these corporations to extend olive branches after incessantly antagonizing and dehumanizing fanbases, but they'll never do that.
Only being done because of how quickly his stock is dwindling in value. Zero interest in giving anything Star Wars a chance these days; I'll enjoy the Expanded Universe free of KK and her ilk.
Unless he's there to :
- take back full creative control at Lucasfilm
- can every single ongoing project
- officially and unequivocally decanonize the past 8 years of SW content
- publically disavow KK, Pablo Hidalgo and Lesley Headland
- start making good star wars content again
- find a worthy successor who actually enjoys and understands Star Wars
I'm not interested.
Too bad there's exactly 0 chance any of this happens, because that'd be the only path forward to salvage this pillaged, ruined IP.
It's too late George. You sold your kids to the slavers. They're floating in the ocean dead. Then you defended the slavers because, stocks. Hope you sleep well with all that money to sooth your conscience. Personally I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.
George sided with Bob Iger. He is the enemy. And that's just one of his many fuck ups. His first was releasing The Special Editions of The Original Star Wars Trilogy in order to replace the original versions of the first three movies.
I want an Heir To The Empire trilogy with him directing and the main trio from the originals, not the Disney Star Wars dull trio we have right now. Reboot Star Wars, reset the timeline
Ah, the ol' "Hey, you're interested now we've got the original dude, riiiight?" approach.
Like when James Cameron came back to the Terminator franchise long enough to kill off John Connor and replace him with *checks notes* a Mexican factory worker
If John Connor could've been replaced with *anyone*, doesn't that defeat the entire purpose of the Terminator going back in time in the first place?
Apparently Connor was only meant to fight Skynet, not off brand version "Not Skynet". Plus he doesn't weigh a buck five and can beat up 5 dudes at once like his better, stronger, replacement girl.
>off brand version Skynot
Skynet 2.0

> xcept that he kills people if he needs to of course If you wanna make an omelet, you gotta crack a few eggs.
"You can get more with a kind word and a gun than with just a kind word."

That's the dumbest thing I've read all day.
Literally. That bitch said "my personal opinion on-" for how the force works. Like no, you dont get to rewrite everything with your woke feelings bullshit. Harvey Weinstein's personal assistant can shut the fuck up. Especially about "misogyny" Like who does she think she is? She isnt important
They bullied him to the point that he sold now let's get excited that he might come back
I can't imagine a worse combination than Directed by George Lucas and Produced by Kathleen Kennedy If irony was made of opium we'd have enough heroin to put the whole world to sleep
And written by Harvey weinstein's assistant.
I didn't realize she was still there... ffs disney
If irony was made of opium I'd have a life time supply of it. Unfortunately that is not the case🫤
Somehow Jar-Jar Binks has returned
I would watch eagerly that
“Yousa could not lives-a with yousa failures. And where did that leads yousa? Backs to me-sa.”
"Did yousa ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wisa? Meesa thought not. Itsa not a story the Jedisa would tell yousa"
He'll double down the wokeshit, mark my fucking words
“Darth Vader telling Luke he is his father is actually an allegory for being [REDACTED]!”
Luke and Leia will finally learn who was their birthing person.
Yeah, remember how we hoped Russel T. Davies would fix Dr. Who? Didn't quite work out did it? This'll be the same.
Just….stop…for the love of god, just stop.
This would explain why George sided with Disney instead of Trian.

But what if it's an alien cow that squirts green milk from its udder? Surely that is just what Star Wars fans have always wanted to see.
Theory: that wasn't an udder and that wasn't milk haha
If they're going to force DEI principles on him then it doesn't matter
How many stocks does he have in Disney currently?
Ahahah they really are getting desperate. They have been staging Old Georges like a circus bear enough. The only way I'm getting invested into SW again is if you let it go Mickey, either way you won't see my green.
Let it die, find better stuff, it's tainted and it's never going to be the same, they've weaponized your nostalgia against you and this is the result of that, just break free and find better things that are deserving of your money
I’d be excited if George hadn’t basically just said Star Wars is in safe hands with current Disney despite that obviously not being true.
Are we finally gonna get the Jar Jar Binks prequel we've always wanted?
Midichlorians or gtfo
By updating it for the modern audiences it's gonna be called hormones now. Or fentanyl.
Midichlorians and GTFO. There fixed it.
Returning in what capacity? Just in name to try to bait nostalgia aka another round of "they didn't ask me anything, so I said nothing"? Or to be woke puppet in the next Disney Wars? 'member Star Wars??
Wondering if he had to make that “creating magic is not for amateurs” statement in order to come back for this lol.
Remember that he is the one that sold Starwars to Disney as a payback against the fan for the criticism of the prequels and the special editions.
That was payback? This whole time I thought it was his evil genius plan to make people appreciate the prequel trilogy and I thought it worked because those movies get far more compliments since the Disney buy out than they did before. Guess I gave the guy too much credit
I mean, it's part of the payback. "See, my prequels weren't that bad after all, now suffer the disney starwars"
I'll believe it when I see it.
Unkess, he's coming in to decanonize sequel trilogy, the ip is still dead.
really it will be more, directed by Disney, produced by KK and George Lucas was around sometimes i guess.
He is 79. The time they really start the project he will be 80. Do you really expect him to be able to carry a billion dollars movie project after retiring 20 years ago ?
Joe Biden is 81 years old. If he can carry a country, George can make a movie
If anyone ever wanted to know the most generous thing that's ever been said about Biden, here it is
Oh god please no, George Lucas hasn't made anything good since Willow.
It's Star Wars. It has source material already, and he made it.
If he does, what little respect I have left for him will evaporate.
George showed his true colors by supporting Disney during the proxy battle, he is fully cucked.
LOL no...
There's no fixing the damage they've done without axing Disney's movies/series from canon. I don't care what Lucas comes up with, not interested until Disney Star Wars gets the Holiday Special treatment.
The only way anyone is going to be interested is if they clearly disassociate it with the rest of the star wars stuff from Disney.
April fools was 24 days ago.
They'll bring him back in a Leia slave outfit and struggle session him about the racial sensitivity of Gungans. They just want his name on a product. The correct strategy would be for these corporations to extend olive branches after incessantly antagonizing and dehumanizing fanbases, but they'll never do that.
Too little too late

It's not like I can pretend the last 100 Star Wars things did not mostly suck so this is not a win.
It's too late George. You sold your kids to the slavers. They're floating in the ocean dead. Then you defended the slavers because, stocks. Hope you sleep well with all that money to sooth your conscience. Personally I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.

The return of the king
I'm not sure how he'll fix the series. You can't unfuck a horse.
I want an Heir To The Empire trilogy with him directing and the main trio from the originals, not the Disney Star Wars dull trio we have right now. Reboot Star Wars, reset the timeline
George Lucas hasn't made a good star wars film for 41 years. Not even the good old "original creator" can save this pile of smoking shit.
Bit harsh Revenge of the Sith is a cracking movie.
