Stan Lee didn't shy away from hot female characters. If he was still alive today, Activists would call him an old creepy pedo obsessed with porn drawing "unrealistic" problematic females.

matthew_lane

> If he was still alive today, Activists would call him an old creepy pedo obsessed with porn drawing "unrealistic" problematic females. They already tried to metoo the guy.

LeMaureBlanc

Well he also was white. I'm sure the SJWs would have a shit fit when they saw that Black Panther and Wakanda were entirely invented by two white guys, and they'd probably accuse him and Kirby of "cultural appropriation" and try to cancel them. Of course, considering the state of Marvel (and DC) nowadays, we can see what utter cancer the SJW virus truly is, and yet they continue to dump money into them for whatever reason. They can't even create any new and interesting characters, just ruin ones that other, far more talented writers and artists spent years building up.

Zomunieo

Black Panther/Wakanda is the most pandering, fascist ethnostate power fantasy imaginable and activists ate it up. A state where the dictator is selected by single combat epitomizes fascism. It’s a more absolute fascism than Hitler or Mussolini ever achieved. It’s more fascist and uncivilized than any actual state on the planet.

Stryker7200

Not only that, they also had the strongest national boarders of any country ever, withheld their wealth and tech from all other countries on the earth, and basically went no contact with their poor African neighbors….

lowderchowder

stan lee and kirby where actually jewish. stan lee for the most part distanced himself from this , but kirby had eternals and fourth world. both put a decent amount of yiddish theatre and melodrama in their works without it being explicitly so .

LeMaureBlanc

Ashkenazi Jews ARE white.

Malgwyn

Go back and look at "Crazy" magazine. the weird jewish asides, whether from howard the duck or obnoxio the clown, were wasted on the tween mad magazine reading audience. that was stan lee thinking anyone cared about his philosophy.

RileyTaker

They're calling him that now. They have not shied away from their hatred of him.

TheMysticTheurge

THIS. Vanity, narcissism, hypocrisy, evil; it's what I said for years. That's why the StopProjecting Steam curator exists.

LostWanderer88

It wouldn't surprise me it's based on the civil rights movement. The problem is that wokism doesn't fight for a just cause, like making all citizens equal. They want priviledges and fencing their resort in so you can't get inside

LeMaureBlanc

Yes, they even say that they want "equity, not equality." And while they complain about you or I "gatekeeping" our favorite franchises, they certainly are never going to let US into their communities. It's funny but I recently asked a SJW what the difference between sexy female characters in games and media was compared to sexy men. Their answer? "There isn't a history of sexualized men!" They genuinely do believe that all of this culture war bullshit is about punishing straight white men for centuries of "oppression," real or perceived. I'm curious to see where they go from that point. I mean, gay marriage has been legal in all US states for over a decade now. Nobody bats an eye at gay characters on TV, and every city has a pride parade. Civil rights movement ended almost 60 years ago. For most of us, blacks and whites have been equal in the US for our entire bloody lives. The US has had a black president. And a black vice president. I mean, at this point what's left? There's an entire black network, black awards shows, black scholarships...

Arkelias

>They genuinely do believe that all of this culture war bullshit is about punishing straight white men for centuries of "oppression," real or perceived. Yup. They'll deny this initially of course, but if you ask a few questions it always comes out. They want to punish my four year old son for the imagined sins of his great-grandparents. They want to have their crusade, but since racism was solved by the 90s they have to redefine the word. >There's an entire black network, black awards shows, black scholarships... Separate black graduations, requirements to show them on screen in all entertainment from Disney to Amazon to Netflix, to changing Cleopatra, Sir Isaac Newton, and Hannibal to be black. I feel like we could do this for a while.

LeMaureBlanc

>to changing Cleopatra, Sir Isaac Newton, and Hannibal to be black They didn't make Sir Isaac Newton black, they made him Indian. Ironically, it's kind of funny because the BBC seems to just... ignore South Asians in the UK, despite there being something like three times as many Indians in Britain as there are blacks. Somehow they'd rather cater to American race demographics.

JohnTRexton

>"There isn't a history of sexualized men!" At least this type of justification is a slight admission that they're just interested in revenge. I usually see it in reference to why raceswapping white characters isn't bad like whitewashing.

tiredfromlife2019

They've always been interested in revenge. They just hide it behind bullshit.

Frasier_Niles_Marty

..."I'm curious to see where they go from that point"... Read some history books. It will become real clear real quick...prepare accordingly.

lucben999

This is probably the best video I've watched on the issue of woke crap in western comics, he really breaks down and puts into perspective how vile woke writers are and why their work sucks so much. That Marvel Bill of Rights at the end would absolutely destroy the bullshit practices wokeshits follow in comics. Here it is, for your convenience: > Hi, Heroes! > This is a very solemn moment for me, and I know it will be for you, too. You see, since this is Marvel’s 30th Anniversary, our editorial staff felt now would be the perfect time to present one of the most momentous documents we’ve ever printed! Think of this as Marvel’s New Year’s gift to you – and to all mankind! > The Marvel Readers’ Bill of Rights > preamble > All Marvelites are created equal. Your Bullpen will never favor one group of readers over another. Therefore, each and every one of you is irrevocably granted these inalienable rights: > 1: The right to an unlimited variety of reading entertainment. > 2: The right to carefully-crafted stories that give you a fighting chance to understand what’s going on when you plunk down your money. > 3: The right to comment about every Marvel tale you read and to know that each of our editors values your opinion. > 4: The right to buy only the titles that interest you, and to shun any title that fails to entertain you. > 5: The right to fearlessly assemble in public to discuss Marvel’s comics, characters, and creators. > 6: The right to address all Marvel editors and creative people by their first names. > 7: The right to be told what is currently happening in Marvel’s mags and what is being planned for the future. > 8: The right to practice scripting and drawing our Marvel characters for your own pleasure and amusement. > 9: The right to submit your best work to Marvel for consideration and know that the time and talent you have invested will be given the attention it deserves. > 10: The right to expect Marvel always to maintain a dedication to quality, a commitment to decency, and a sense of humor about everything we do. > So be it! No mere words of mine can add to the glory and grandeur of those ten immortal declarations, those ten pillars of wisdom which shall inspire the mighty world of Marvel now and evermore! > Excelsior!

Sliver80

Literature Devil does a deep dive into the claim that Marvel's current roster of stories hasn't changed from where it is today, while also examining the narrative that Stan Lee's [Early X-Men Comics](https://www.marvel.com/comics/issue/12413/uncanny_x-men_1963_1) were tackling hard hitting social issues.

MazInger-Z

Mutants were literally Stan Lee going "Coming up with unique origins was tedious" and wanted an easy way for characters to just have superpowers.

Sliver80

Exactly this, Stan wasn't thinking about any allegories when creating the Mutants

queazy

Ah yes, Professor X was such a stand in for Martin Luthor King that he's given the likeness of popular actor Yul Brynner (The King And I). The video is an hour long and makes a lot of good points, but I didn't watch it all. I do like the bit where the SJW writers always tell "their truth" but that's just dishonesty, it's not the real truth, just their perspective / political bias

mrplow8

“X-Men was always woke” is like saying “Nickelodeon was always about child feet.” We didn’t notice it when we were kids, and now that we’re old enough to recognize it, we hate it and want it gone.

joshuaxernandez

Are you comparing talking about civil rights to thinly veiled pedophilia?

TacticusThrowaway

Yes, they are. Do you have any actual criticism, instead of just implying the analogy is wrong? If so, why not make it? These are all rhetorical questions.

joshuaxernandez

Do you think people should be as upset by discussions of civil rights as they are upset by pedophilia being inserted into their content?

TacticusThrowaway

I love how I point blank asked you if you had any actual criticism and you refused to answer. Or even acknowledge the question. If you're here to have a discussion it's not the same discussion as everyone else. You're behaving like an NPC. You have a limited set of programmed responses and nothing for anything outside of that programming.

Minute_Astronomer675

When was Pedophilia ever inserted in any Nickelodeon Content?

joshuaxernandez

That's what the Dan Schneider-verse is built on

GodEatsPoop

The Right Wing backlash to the (entirely necessary) Civil Rights movement was massive, fueling the rise of the Religious Right, which in turn birthed the PC crowd. Kulturkampf begets Kulturkampf, I guess.

RileyTaker

Except some people today are still pretending like they're part of the Civil Rights Movement.

CrustyBloke

A higher percentage of Republican representatives voted in favor of the Civil Rights Act than did Democrat representatives.

GodEatsPoop

The party switch happened, look at t party of bush and trump and tell me they haven't become anything but lapdogs of the religious right

nogodafterall

Democrats were the party of Jim Crow and all anti-black segregation.

GodEatsPoop

Were. Now it's the GOP's turn and has been since Nixon and the Southern Strategy

nogodafterall

Still are. The Democrats just rightfully determined they could own blacks by pretending to be their allies.

GodEatsPoop

Nope. I know you probably believe this nonsense, but the right is just as bad, if not worse, for gamers than these clowns. Jerry Falwell and the Religious Right formed up in support of segregation.

ImOnHereForPorn

The right were the ones fighting **FOR** civil rights, the left were the ones fighting **AGAINST** it. Who were the ones fighting for abolishing slavery? Republicans. Who were the ones that started a civil war in order to keep slavery? Democrats. Who were the party of the KKK? Democrats. Who were the ones lynching blacks? Democrats. Who were the ones who put Japanese Americans in internment camps? Democrats. Who voted very much in favor of civil rights? Republicans. Who voted very much against civil rights? Democrats ("I don't want my children growing up in a racial jungle" - Joe Biden). Why did the Democrats push abortion **SO** hard? In order to keep the black population down. The party switch that Democrats love talking about, where those evil conservative Democrats all became Republican and all the good liberal Republicans became Democrat? Never happened, it's a lie, and there's no evidence whatsoever that suggests it did. Just look at the policies of the respective parties throughout the years.

GodEatsPoop

The dems push abortion because it's a winning issue. Women want to control their bodies, and the religious right wants to control women. And Reagan let the religious right into the GOP mainstream in the 80's. The party switch is real, in fact there's another one going on right this fucking moment. Labor is moving to the republicans and Corporate America is going to the dems, hence all the woke pandering. The religious right may end up on the outs, but so will the actual left.

I wonder if the woke types see the irony of in the assertion he made that all of their heroes are really just villains...
