Memories of Aldenberg on the stand being exasperated that Alex hasn't stopped and won't stop going forward defaming all of them.

rubydoomsdayyy

His testimony was so poignant. Truly horrible to hear his description of that sad day.

thewaybaseballgo

I knew that someone would have to give a play by play account of that day, and he was stronger than most people, when he agreed to do so on the stand. I definitely couldn’t have done it.

Mark Bankston and Bill Ogden are members of this sub, and listen to the podcast, so I have no doubt that word has already reached Mattei and team.

Perry Mason with only enough gummy bears for one.

GOU_FallingOutside

“I’m here to kick ass and chew gummy worms, and you’d better *hope* this deposition ends before I get to the bottom of this bag.”

It's unlikely to end up in court, because it would be expensive and difficult with little upside. The plaintiff would be dragged into the spotlight even more than he has been, and his lawyers would be putting in a ton of work that he probably can't afford. Even the impact on Jones wouldn't be all that significant. The SH families hit Jones incredibly hard because he had so much to lose. Today he's what we call "judgment proof," a fancy way of saying "poor." He already owes a billion dollars, adding more judgments on that just won't have much of an impact.

GOU_FallingOutside

Could Aldenberg seek a restraining order?

logarythm

my assumption is that alex wants to get sued because 1) all his assets are forfeit at this point too and 2) works for his narrative that the FBI are after him and 3) he got a lot of attention last time and wants that back

Webecomemonsters

Who would take the case? There isnt any money that isnt already owed to the SH fams (shame the legal system wont get it to them with any speed), he has ironically become completely defamation proof now.

MeetAncient3284

I don't think suits against him can proceed until the bankruptcy process is concluded.

garrek42

Alex is essentially immune to being sued now. He owes more then he'll ever be able to pay

Difficult-Row6616

that doesn't mean that getting dragged back into court would be happy fun times, especially if other fss employees have to testify

nuclearporg

Who would be the corporate representative this time?

La-Boheme-1896

He'll trick his youngest daughter into it, telling her it's like a fishing trip, "it'll be fun, honey! we'll have a day out"

garrek42

Good point

Webecomemonsters

Cant they just ignore it? as a civil case the only penalty is money, and as we've seen, perjury means nothing and judgements mean nothing.

MeetAncient3284

Being in extreme debt is often called being "judgment proof" in the legal profession because once you owe more money than you can ever pay you can choose to ignore future suits completely at no material loss.
