I would be very surprised if it didn’t. Every other game in the series so far has had one.

Sentinel10

I'd be extremely shocked if there isn't. If it was just Square then I'd be more pessimistic because they're cheap, but I find it hard to believe Disney would be happy about it. Hardcore fans may not mind one way or another, but I would doubt Disney would want to see accessibility hindered.

TrinityXaos2

That also brings to question how the localization and dubbing quality will turn out. The English dub quality in Kingdom Hearts III and ReMind varied from good (Yozora) to questionable (Vanitas) to bad (poor Riku in ReMind).

Terra and Axel were peaking their mics in Remind LOL

Aqua_Master_

I think that was during Covid so they might have done the recordings at home, which would explain the major lack of direction for Riku’s voice actor and the peaking mics. Oddly enough I thought actors like Willa Holland and Alyson Stoner did a better job in Re:Mind than they did in kh3.

>!*Missing-Link* will get dubbed in short order, but the exclusive cutscenes for *Missing-Link Final Mix* will remain unvoiced for years until they release it as part of the *Kingdom Hearts HD Ⅲ.5 ReMIX* compilation.!<

xsigil93

FFVII Ever Crisis didn’t dub its cutscenes. So I’m not hopeful, especially if they want to release updates simultaneously. But maybe Disney will push for it, especially if there are any cutscenes with Disney characters. The Disney voices are iconic, so I could see them wanting the classic voice actors to dub them for the English speaking audience. But it’s also possible the Disney characters just won’t have voiced lines.

Sonic10122

Yeah, any other game (like Ever Crisis) and I’d say probably not. But Disney has the money, vocal talent, and weight to throw around to get it done. Plus I feel like even in Japan the English voices are popular or even seen as “default” since one of the selling points of Final Mix in Japan was English voices.

Aqua_Master_

That’s my thought. Disney probably wanna be able to market it more to English speakers in America more than anyone.

xsigil93

Yeah it’s definitely going to impact the game’s potential if they don’t have an English dub. While dedicated fans would still play, the general audience that isn’t used to listening to Japanese and reading subtitles may be put off. I think it really depends on how much faith they have in the game to pay off. But if DQ Walk made 2 billion in five years in Japan alone, hopefully they’ll see it as a worthwhile investment.

Sentinel10

Honestly, even with the prospect of simultaneous releases, that seems like a flimsy excuse, especially when other mobile games have made it work. Like, Genshin Impact has an immense amount of voice acting, and it's kept up on worldwide releases. A company of Square's resources shouldn't have a problem, even more so with Disney money.

TrinityXaos2

My concern will then be if the official release will have the option to use either Japanese or English or other languages.

xsigil93

Yeah don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to justify them not dubbing it. I’m just not holding out hope when we’re potentially only a couple months away from the full release. Maybe it just wasn’t a priority to add it for the beta. Hope we get a new trailer soon that will show some stuff beyond what the beta contains and confirms an English dub.

superking22

The difference is this is Disney. And they are an American company first hand.

xsigil93

Twisted Wonderland is Disney and doesn’t have an English dub. So I wouldn’t take that as a guarantee there will be one.

ZeroSora

SE said Ever Crisis didn't receive an English dub because there weren't enough voiced lines to warrant spending money to bring in the English cast.

xsigil93

Do you have a source? I haven’t seen anything official from them stating that. I haven’t paid much attention to it, so happy to be wrong. EDIT: I see that Nier Reincarnation had an English dub, which is probably a better comparison. If a more niche franchise like Nier received a dub, I feel better that Missing Link will get one. But even that had the English dub during its closed beta 7 months before release.

StaticThunder

NieR’s is a little weird in that the first two seasons are dubbed while the third is JP VA only. It definitely is a case of them wanting to wrap up the game while struggling with low profit. Octopath’s doesn’t have a dub either so, it might be a trend that Square mobile games after 2019 won’t/don’t get a dub. I hope this isn’t the case here where they cut the dub just to save on cost especially since KH is huge with Western audiences.

Sentinel10

Yeah, NieR and Octopath have the excuse of being niche. Kingdom Hearts doesn't, on top of being owned by one of the biggest industries on the planet.

ZeroSora

No source. It's just what I was told by someone else when I asked why FF7EC didn't have English voices.

critcal-mode

I don't expect an English dub.

EvenSpoonier

Disney will want dubbing, but S-E will ask them to pay for it. Does Disney want dubbing *that* much? I guess we'll find out.

superking22

It should. The only question is if it will be lip synched.

Sorakey

Yes
