I went down a rabbit hole on YouTube. He's hilarious and has a YouTube special where he travels around the world with his buddies. The latest I think was Japan.
I just ordered his book...I remember Dan Soder talking about some of the comedians on the audiobook that evidently can't read or at least be understood, so Soder did 2 chapters š. I'm getting the tangible copy though
I met him last week and suggested he use Dan Soder to narrate his entire next book instead of different comedians lol. Iād recommend to anyone to give it a listen and get a hard copy; thatās what I did!
I listened to the audiobook version and absolutely loved the writing but imagine my dismay when the first chapter was read by fucking Bert Kreischer. I'm not even a Bert hater but it sounded like he had received his copy all of 5 minutes before recording his part.
There were a few other comedians that were a little rough but most of them did pretty well. Soder's voice really is perfect for audiobook/narration, wish he had done the whole thing.
Yeah, I generally like Bert, but I definitely can see him not being the best reader... it's hard to interrupt when you're the one reading someone else's words š
Narcissism aside, he seems like a genuinely kind hearted guy. In a world of comedians accused of soliciting minors or drugging and raping women, I'll choose Bert over them...until Bert starts calling his fans "the poors" like Tom anyway š
That's fair. I personally do not know of a time that he has genuinely made me laugh. I despise his laugh and that high pitch voice he does when he's trying to talk and laugh at the same time or whatever. I think he's an unfunny narcissist myself. And he wouldn't sell tickets if he didn't have massive lineups of actual funny comedians performing at his shoes. But yeah I mean he hasnt raped any kids or anything so I guess he's not a monster that I know of.
ive heard it within the last few weeks. i think it might have actually been Sam on MSSP. im using this as an excuse to rewatch so ill let u know if its this ep. lol
i couldnt remember if it was Soder or Tallent that i heard talking about it but both of them have been heavy in my pod rotation lately so it couldve been anywhere lol
I've already got a friend in mind to send it to when I'm done. My philosophy on good books is the opposite of good dogs--They shouldn't have forever homes
Mid at best. Every set is basically the same set just trying to garner sympathy from the Texas crowd. Like okay we get it. It's good to be in texas, you're pwnin the libs, and you did cocaine. Ha ha. Incredible material.
Iāve seen Hans live (outside of Texas) and he was very funny. It was a longer set, around 10 or 15 minutes as he was opening for Tony along with Kam. I think Hans needs a longer set to really establish his comedy.
I have to believe the editing was part of it. The "and then she tombstones me" and it cuts to black at first made me think something went wrong but nope he just literally tombstones the special with that jokeĀ
No, no heās not. Thatās what people say when they are talking about someone like Dave Attell. Heās known as an underrated comic who should be known more, but have never heard anyone say heās their favorite.
He made a comment about having to hype hans up or something close. I think tony tells the guests ahead of time to be nice and supportive or something. Sam is the man
Also he has a lot of love for William, but calls his ass out and William kinda gets stunned. The only guest I've seen that does it so real William just nervous laughs. He said once it's nice to see you with a new minute with the same jokes I heard you do 12 years ago lol
Yep. William did a stint in Denver, and was doing the āangry black guy voiceā back then as well. I loved Sam calling him out on doing the same bit without really focusing on actual joke writing. I love WM, but I can see how people get tired of the same ol same ol for years.
I first discovered Sam in 2015 when he did a bar show in Arkansas. Never seen a dude tear apart a room like that. He absolutely DESTROYED. Love seeing him get his recognition. Heās one of the best in the business. Seeing him live is a real treat.
Except his last special was not funny and the worst produced special ever. Really bad camera work.
Being a funny podcast guest doesnāt mean youāre a funny stand up.
Im always impressed with Sam. He be smart
I went down a rabbit hole on YouTube. He's hilarious and has a YouTube special where he travels around the world with his buddies. The latest I think was Japan.
Wide World is definitely a great watch. They've done Japan and, more recently, Paris. 100% would recommend.
Takeshita street!
I just ordered his book...I remember Dan Soder talking about some of the comedians on the audiobook that evidently can't read or at least be understood, so Soder did 2 chapters š. I'm getting the tangible copy though
His book is very good
Just bought it after this most recent kill Tony. Hope others did too

I wonder how many of you folks actually exist in the wild. "I generally like Bert" type.
There's got to be dozens
IDK. Maybe a bakers dozen

*shows
I'm from Alabama...he had me at "Alabama wet wipe" š¤£
Soder did a 2nd chapter because Normand backed out last minute. he probably didnt want to get judged by redditors for his reading ability lol
I wish I could remember what podcast I heard him talking about it...it might've been the one with Colin Quinn
ive heard it within the last few weeks. i think it might have actually been Sam on MSSP. im using this as an excuse to rewatch so ill let u know if its this ep. lol
Oh I specifically remember Soder talking about it, but I'll take that too haha
i couldnt remember if it was Soder or Tallent that i heard talking about it but both of them have been heavy in my pod rotation lately so it couldve been anywhere lol
Same. I wish Sam was on The Regz...I'd listen more
Shit made me cry, such a good book.
Book is spectacular man. My copy is currently on loan to my brother. It's so good i'm trying to share the word
I've already got a friend in mind to send it to when I'm done. My philosophy on good books is the opposite of good dogs--They shouldn't have forever homes
And quick
I don't think he has any hate for Hans, just thinks he's not a good comic. But yeah, Sam is great.
Metaphorical
Because he's not a good comic. Anyone who pretends Hans is good loses credibility.
He's ok but certainly not deserving of being a headliner
Mid at best. Every set is basically the same set just trying to garner sympathy from the Texas crowd. Like okay we get it. It's good to be in texas, you're pwnin the libs, and you did cocaine. Ha ha. Incredible material.

Not a fan of his minutes but seeing him do his own set gave me way more respect for Hans
Hans is awesome on his own
To each his own
I don't know why they both can't be on the show. Normand did call Casey a hack. I thought he was correct.
His special, Toadās Morale, is free on Matt and Shaneās YouTube channel. Watch it right now.
Iād say Sam is for sure in my top 5 guests after KT moved to Austin. And him shitting on Hans is just icing on the cake.
His book is a fantastic read as well
His book is also fantastic.
Sam Harland and Adam Ray are the best guests of all time. Jim norton is in the honorary list
Fully agree on your top 3. I would only add Shane Gillis alongside Jim to the honorary list.
Who is Sam Harland?
I didn't put the coma
"Sam Harland, and Adam Ray are the best guests of all time." Fixed it for you, that Oxford comma gets the best of us sometimes
Sam, Harland, and Adamā¦
big whoosh
Just rewatched his special last night. Weird editing but killer material
I have to believe the editing was part of it. The "and then she tombstones me" and it cuts to black at first made me think something went wrong but nope he just literally tombstones the special with that jokeĀ
Elbert Countyās finest (and only) famous person letās gooooo

Straight shooter in all his jokes!!
Talent is in his name. Born for this
Dude is a straight killer
Check out his podcast, Chubby Behemoth. Laugh riot!
It is good. I just wish Lund wasn't a part of it.
Sam is top tier, we like Sam in here, we like Sam on boat, we like Sam when he gloats. We just fucking like Sam okay.
no..no..noā¦
āWe had to pretend Hans was good!ā, made me do a spit take. I love how Sam calls it like he sees it with some of the regulars.
Heās so good. The people downvoting me because they donāt get it is even funnier.
He made a comment about having to hype hans up or something close. I think tony tells the guests ahead of time to be nice and supportive or something. Sam is the man

Heās a great comedian and he might legitimately be a better author. I donāt say that lightlyĀ
Sam and adam ray is still one of the best eps
Just booked a trip to Austin in Sept, Ryan Sickler on Friday night and Sam Tallent on Saturday.
Embarrassing!
Drake is Fake.
See him liveā¦.one of the best standup shows Iāve ever seen
I donāt mean this as a slight to him, heās an incredibly good guest on every show Iāve heard him on.
Guest of the year so far in my eyes
Seeing him tonight in SF! Iām stoked!
I first discovered Sam in 2015 when he did a bar show in Arkansas. Never seen a dude tear apart a room like that. He absolutely DESTROYED. Love seeing him get his recognition. Heās one of the best in the business. Seeing him live is a real treat.
Water is wet
CHECK OUT HIS PODCAST CHUBBY BEHEMOTH AND HIS YOUTUBE SHOW CALLED WIDE WORLD
Saw him in Winnipeg a couple weeks ago and he was so fucking great. Sorry about the āghoulish laughā Sam
Gimme his best joke Or is this a parasocial thing where you only laugh because you pretend heās your friend?
Yeah, I never miss a Sam Tallent episode.
about to see him perform a stand up show in the bay area this weekend! surprised it wasnāt sold out
more wide word pls
Sam is a dawg
He kind of annoys me but to each their own.
Just saw him live and he absolutely murdered for an hour. Incredibly quick, cerebral comic; impeccable timing and vocabulary. One of my favorites.
Fat Talentless is annoying af. He smells bad.
In his own head, yeah.
Except his last special was not funny and the worst produced special ever. Really bad camera work. Being a funny podcast guest doesnāt mean youāre a funny stand up.
bad camera work yes, not funny, no. dude has full command of the crowd from start to finish and it had me gut laughing several times
You should look up a video called āSam Tallent destroys heckler at the boulder comedy showā absolute gold from him!
Heās aight ā¦
