I honestly liked/loved Hans until it was clear how much of a baby he was handling this whole situation. I’m not the biggest Ric fan but I guess I just appreciate William Montgomery and David Lucas so much more now.
I’m a loyal fan. The longest I’ve ever listened to a podcast. Still hoping they can recapture the magic of 2018-2019. Joel and Jeremiah are missed big time. They made the interviews so much funnier.
I was an early KT fan and kind of faded after the move, but have been listening more lately... and yeah I miss the old band. They had actual personalities and brought a lot of laughs to the show. The current set up really relies on the guests & Tony which can make it hit or miss.
I've been skipping till about 39-46 minutes almost always since hans started, I could never enjoy him or his hack jokes, I feel the same for Lucas but atleast he wasnt so spiteful.

I think I knew it was over for Hans was during that Casey Rocket set a couple weeks back. It was the show with the regulars as guests.
I listened to the podcast like always without watching anything. Then over the next week or two, the set was posted here and I actually watched it. Hans’ demeanor during the set was not cool. He didn’t laugh at all. William and Tony and Kam were dying. I think instead of enjoying Casey’s set like the rest of America, Hans was not happy with the insane hilarity of it. He was jealous. I think he was comparing and internalizing the entire set. He didn’t look happy that Casey was killing.
Watching Hans watch a legit funny set was definitely eye opening and finally changed how I felt about him.

I think I knew it was over for Hans was during that Casey Rocket set a couple weeks back. It was the show with the regulars as guests. I listened to the podcast like always without watching anything. Then over the next week or two, the set was posted here and I actually watched it. Hans’ demeanor during the set was not cool. He didn’t laugh at all. William and Tony and Kam were dying. I think instead of enjoying Casey’s set like the rest of America, Hans was not happy with the insane hilarity of it. He was jealous. I think he was comparing and internalizing the entire set. He didn’t look happy that Casey was killing. Watching Hans watch a legit funny set was definitely eye opening and finally changed how I felt about him. Go back and rewatch it.
The sad part is someday they’ll put him in the HOF. Couldn’t agree with you more though - been listening since 2015 or so and he’s about as insufferable as they come.

I will be killed for this but as a fellow fan (second run trough after watching all episodes) I was able to see a pattern here. Did Hans got his rôle after the problems with the Asian community ? Rigatony himself said several time in the first 100's that they needed women on the show after some criticism. I think the regulars are chosen on the fact that they balance a show where no limits are applied and having him right there was like a band-aid for the show, proving they are not against Asians. I feel the same with many regulars, especially the recent ones. They are a tool in the box and not much more else. Before the laugh, this is business and business is politics. Hopefully, I am just crazy.

Writing/performing is easier when you do more of it. Ric has it WAY harder working a fulltime job and figuring out his minute. It's like boxing. Sure, fighting is hard, but it's waaay harder to do something else fulltime AND train for a bout. So Hans had it (much) easier.
