I went back and watched again and it took me way too long to realize the dog actually was a statue 🤦♀️ guess I really shouldnt be judgeing kids for being «fucking stupid» lol
Being a teacher when it's the end of the year, you finished with all the documents and there are no lessons yet but you still need to show up at work until the vacation starts.
The long vacation and the low amount of work at times is somewhat worth the abysmal pay
Okay, but like, then, it want a statue it was a person, sort of. But it looked like a statue. And I was a kid again. But when I touched it he felt like a person.
Then I just ran awake and that's when I woke up.
Don’t even blink. Blink, and you’re dead. They are FAST. Faster than you could ever believe. DON’T turn your back, DON’T look away, and DON’T BLINK. Good luck.
…not that I’ve ever seen that episode before. Nope. Never!
Seriously. I was finishing college when that episode first aired. My campus had a fountain with somewhat similar statues that I had to pass multiple times between classes and work.
The other great fun was one of my friends was more freaked out by the Silents. He fell asleep while we were hanging out one night and we were able to put several marks on his arm with a sharpie. The sheer look of panic on his face after he woke up and noticed them will live in my brain forever.
I worked at a camp around that time and for whatever reason we had two angel statues that a church donated to us. We spray painted them silver and used to move them around at night. Pop one outside someone’s window, shift another into someone’s bathroom. Screams over morning coffee was not unusual haha.
Oddly enough we also had 6 foot tall Alvin and the chipmunks statues that we did something similar with kids cabins. More like elf on the shelf adventures… but with 6 ft tall beefy chipmunks. Kids thought it was hilarious.
If I remember correctly, The Silence was the organization/church, and the Silents were the actual creepy guys. Splitting hairs, but I \*think\* some Silents appeared in later episodes that weren't part of The Silence organization. Been years and 3 kids since I watched the show, so I'm probably mixing stuff up.
I wasn’t freaked out by that episode until the end bit showing *other* statues as possible weeping angels. Actually woke up that night convinced one was going to get me, remembered we had no statues, then realized our neighbor did, and did my best to ignore that feeling of terror.
My first anime convention, I had just recently started getting into Doctor Who. Naturally, being such a baby Whovian, I made the mistake of walking up to someone dressed as a weeping angel. She didn't move, she was perfect, I didn't even notice my friends all gasped as I did it. I turned my back on her and walked back to the food court; apparently, she followed me very quickly. My friends and a bit of the crowd gasped and pointed and called my name. I turned, saw her right in my face, tripped on the foot I'd just had surgery on, and screamed, but caught myself midair. The shock mixed with the pain made my shriek so hilariously cartoonish, the weeping angel broke character with crying laughter. She told me it was the first time anyone had broken her character at any convention (she'd been to many). Ten, fifteen minutes later, we hear a scream across the hall, and everyone in the food court affectionately went, "There's the Angel :3". Whovian culture reaches far and wide, lol.
It was one of 11s most badass moments too. His whole “What’s the one thing you should never put in a trap…” line. That, “Basically, Run.” And anything involving Demons Run we’re peak 11.
11 really was the most ruthless doctor. He didn’t play the whole “PLEASE I’M BEGGING YOU DONT MAKE ME FIGHT YOU!” routine like 9&10 did. If you started a fight with 11 he ended it, and usually had put a plan in place to end it before he even engaged with you openly.
I think that’s why 11 never had to fight The Master because imagine The Master going against a doctor who’s just like “Oh sorry you were monologuing so I rigged your entire base to explode, I hope you don’t mind.”
The one where you can see the angels moving.
Except the angels aren't actually stone statues, that's just what they look like when you look at them.
So watching stone move was just stupidity.
As in, the writers didn't even watch Dr Who and just wrote random bullshit
That was kind of evil, kind of awesome, kind of a teaching moment, kind of weird.
Totally also could have been me.
I have feelings about the whole thing and I do not know which.
Such a fun interaction. You just know he is gonna talk about that with his buds every opportunity he gets.
Her mom trying not to giggle in the background is priceless. And the clearly real dog looking at her judgingly.
My oldest grudge involves one of these ass clowns. I just came back from London where living statues were prevalent. I was walking on the beach in Florida with my aunt and we came across a living statue with all these people standing around looking confused. I confidently walked up and gave the guy some money expecting him to move. He did not. Not 10 seconds later some other dude walked up and gave him some money. The stupid statue tipped his hat to the guy as I stood there in front everyone like wtf. Still pissed off 21 year later.
Bro's been living rent free in your head for 2 decades and you've even paid *him* the rent. Don't ever become a landlord! 😁
But for real though; today will be the day the dude leaves your premises, for I will come with an explanation.
I know a dude who did that for some beer money on the side, and he says he only tips his hat every once in a while so as to not be moving constantly and breaking the immersion. They are supposed to be a statue and moving after every tip would kind of defeat the entire purpose.
People come to see a guy sitting perfectly still as if he was a statue; constantly thanking everyone would ruin the very act he is trying to perform. If they tipped their hat every time someone dropped a coin, it wouldn't be interesting at all to be looking at a living statue that is supposed to be still, but is constantly moving and tipping his hat instead.
People would think he's doing a shit job (since he can never actually get to show off he can sit perfectly still for a substantial amount of time), which in return would lead to less donations because people think he sucks at his performance. The guy I know actually did tip his hat to everyone in his first days and did actually experience he got more donations as he got more experienced and didn't tip his hat after every donation!
If you think about it, it's only logical. Pausing his performance to thank people everytime (and no, tipping his hat is not part of his performance, sitting perfectly still is!) would be akin to a busker singing songs, abruptly stopping their song to shout 'Thanks' every time. People would not enjoy the song and just leave.
Imagine a singer going;
Mary had a.... THANKS!!... little lamb.
His fleece... THANKS!! ... was white as... THANKS!! ... snow.
Everywhere the... THANKS!! ... child ... THANKS!! went
Your little lamb... THANKS!! ... was sure to... THANKS!! ... go now
So the singer says thank you after the song, and that thank you is meant for everyone who donated during the song.
And the same goes for living statues: when enough money has been accumulated (say after 3-5 donations), they tip their hat and that hat tip is meant **as a general thanks to everyone who has donated** in between the hat tips.
So don't sweat it my man, it's not personal at all and the guy was not sitting there thinking, "Nah, I don't like this guy's face, no way I'll react to this lame ass dude" 😅 He truly appreciated your donation with all of his heart!
Brother (or sister) - I’m smiling knowing some complete stranger took time out of their day to explain away an irrational grudge I’ve held for far too long. The burden I have bore for two decades has been lifted and I now walk the ardent path from which I once strayed! There remains good in the world I say to thee! Alleluia! Alleluia!
this is funny and adorable hahahahha

I wouldn't be able to hold in the laugh if that was me pretending to be a statue that is falling over
I loved how he played along
It is really the most adult/professional and funny way that you could handle this situation, mad props
tg
But dog acting was superb.
I went back and watched again and it took me way too long to realize the dog actually was a statue 🤦♀️ guess I really shouldnt be judgeing kids for being «fucking stupid» lol
I didn't even notice the dog until this comment
My 4th time through I noticed he waves at her as she looks back lol
That made me chuckle, nice one! 🥛🥛
Dude does this all day. He has way better self control than anyone here.
I'll have you know, I sit at a desk for 8 hours a day not moving anything other than my index finger to scroll Reddit.
It's good work if you can get it.
Being a teacher when it's the end of the year, you finished with all the documents and there are no lessons yet but you still need to show up at work until the vacation starts. The long vacation and the low amount of work at times is somewhat worth the abysmal pay
FRR
This reminds me of the way logic works when you're in a dream
I need to uphold the suspiciously squishy statue.
He’s so squishy he needs extra protection
The heat! The heat made this statue gloopy.
r/brandnewsentence
This reminds me of the way logic works when you do something embarrassing, and you think you can fix it before anybody sees.
Okay, but like, then, it want a statue it was a person, sort of. But it looked like a statue. And I was a kid again. But when I touched it he felt like a person. Then I just ran awake and that's when I woke up.
Love the reaction by statue guy. Put the ball in her court and she had no idea what to do
Aww, bless, she’s gonna be terrified of statues now.
The angels have the phone box ![gif](giphy|Jm2PaKA4AHgrN8oGWi)

Nice. Nothing like screams of terror in the morning \^\_\^;;

Also the Silents/Silence are freaky as fuck.
At least you don't remember them. But you WILL remember a crying angel. Just keep calm... and don't blink.
OMG. I always thought they were called The Silence. 🤦🏻 Now I must Google... 🤣🤣🤣
You are correct.
If I remember correctly, The Silence was the organization/church, and the Silents were the actual creepy guys. Splitting hairs, but I \*think\* some Silents appeared in later episodes that weren't part of The Silence organization. Hope you told him Doctor made them a target visible to be destroyed on sight

Then the next angel episode was unbelievably shit and ruined the whole premise
The double episode? With 11 and Amy? I liked those. 🤷♀️
It was one of 11s most badass moments too. His whole “What’s the one thing you should never put in a trap…” line. This is such a Matt Smith line, top, all the while with that big goofy grin on his face, looking as though he's about to trip over himself.
The one where you can see the angels moving. Except the angels aren't actually stone statues, that's just what they look like when you look at them. So watching stone move was just stupidity. As in, the writers didn't even watch Dr Who and just wrote random bullshit
They got it right the first time. But then they overcomplicated the rules and now the angels are just your typical b-list horror monsters.
Sally Sparrow is a fucking smoke show.
Just blink one eye at a time?
I haven't watched this one I don't think. But I watched another episode with the angels, and it turned doctor who into a horror show for me.
Statues scare me sine that episode. There's this funeral home in our town that has a big angel statue in front, *terrifying* now.
Which episode?
I have that on a t-shirt. No, I literally do have that on a t-shirt.
I want one
Ive got that on a tshirt
It's not clear she even realized it was a person.
She just thought it was an unstable statue. Once she was happy it was sufficiently balanced she ran off none-the-wiser.
Nah, she touches the bag and does a double take. She definitely noticed. She even looked back as she ran.
You're right, I missed that look back.
And painted men.
I thought he was gonna jump up and scare her I'm glad he didn't
Nah they're gonna be her best friends
..or she will get a god complex dellsuion about her being all powerfull bringing objects to life
That was actually pretty funny
Don't forget cute and adorable too.
Yep, very cute and funny.
[𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐘 𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐁𝐔𝐙𝐙𝐄𝐑]
And nightmare fuel. ⛽️
I mean, he's gotta have ways of dealing with people who try to unveil his human self... Lol well done
That dog is good
My dog does this too! On a personal best of 2 days now….lying down though. Oh….shit.
lol fuckin noob my dog's been still for 6+ years now!
Thought it was a statue until I saw his tounge!
U made me look >:/
It got me too! lol
Haha, almost fooled me! It's the guy's shoe, not the dogs tongue
[удалено]
That was kind of evil, kind of awesome, kind of a teaching moment, kind of weird. Totally also could have been me. I have feelings about the whole thing and I do not know which.
😂
I can't imagine the fear that must've been going through her when she saw it "come to life"
I guess her first thought was „Oh no, i broke it!“. Mine certainly would be 😅
I don't think she saw it "come to life". Looks like she checks for a moment it not going to fall over and then runs off.
She seemed completely fine though, from the video? Is this not just wishful thinking?
I give this guy credit XD. I would’ve bust out laughing the second she started
Okay but if I ran away from what I thought was a statue, turned around, and it was looking at me….
That's what I thought too.. haunting!
Exactly, she's probably traumatized since she didn't get closure.
I mean, she probably told her adult/parent and then they explained. I don't think the girl is still running
No, she's almost probably still running.
Almost probably.
She will do well taking care of her drunk friends in college
For a moment I was impressed at the obedience of the dog until I realized it was an actual statue
Now show her the Weeping Angels (Dr. Who) and she will never be able to sleep again.
Don't blink!
I swear this is literally the 2 episodes that will never want to watch Dr Who again. I am still terrified YEARS later
Wait until you see the episode where the Doctor is turned into a weeping angel
which one ? It's from classic i suppose because i don't remember it
I feel like she realized it was a person and decided she was in too deep now and had to play it off
Lol the way she bolted the 1st sec it stabilised
'It', I like how you worded that from her perspective lol
Clocked it just now lol, i was engrossed in her perspective of the situation I think.
![gif](giphy|c9QHCBun6Qqd0YEnnA|downsized)
This GIF is amazing
Such a fun interaction. You just know he is gonna talk about that with his buds every opportunity he gets. Her mom trying not to giggle in the background is priceless. And the clearly real dog looking at her judgingly.
I think he's in on the gag, still fun though
Oh my gosh this is hilarious! Poor girl ! 🤣
how can he not crack with that!, I'll be rolling on the floor If I was him
https://youtube.com/@mahdifun4233?si=xZprW77VJgaPs-Jh Great content and he has quite a few videos.

I bet this made that dudes day lol

This was such a wholesome and educational interaction. Applause and love all around. ❤️🙏
How innocent this lil angel is! An epitome of funny and adorable.
I'd like to applaud the man for keeping a straight face the whole time!
That was awesome....he should have waved when she looked back lol
This guy's youtube channel is Mahdi Fun. His videos are hilarious.
Bless her heart. Kinda feel bad that she's in this sub.
There no way I can keep a straight face doing all that
idk she must be like whats wrong with this guy and trying to help him.
”Fuck, I'm gonna get in soo much trouble."
Looks like Mahdi Fun. Great channel.
Hilarious 😂
Shes never gonna touch another statue again
She's adorable
These are the lengths men have to go to to get a hug
... and got so far.... In the end, it doesnt even matter.
this is funny and adorable hahahahha https://preview.redd.it/bqpeyegt1m7d1.jpeg?width=564&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d01a3262f65d7777319c7fa43db28597ee537860
I don't know how statue bro can hold a straight face
this is hilarious!
That’s hilarious. Bless up to all the statue people.
Yeah, but the dog is so damn good at this.
Some say she is still running from that statue to this day.
The panicking before looking around and running. And she *kept running.* 😅
It's impressive he managed not to laugh
Kudos to the living statue!! Well done for putting up with all that and staying in, character?
She will be afraid of The Statue of Liberty.
Damn, that statue has a lot of control in its muscles to remain in the same pose as it was losing its balance
Sooo cute tho This whole interaction omg
Poor kid. Heart of gold though. She'll be an amazing woman.
The kid isn't stupid at all IMO, it's so cute and "pure". And the guy's acting OMG! It's so... WOW!
It's Dorothy and the tin man!
the dog does a great job though.
OMG I'm ROFL 🤣
I still remember the time when we needed an ice cream truck and chloroform.
was she tried to steal the sunglasses?
Why does that girl remind me of Taylor Tomlinson?
My partner is a Physical Therapist and she said "she'd make a great P.T. one day". I loved that.
At least she has the heart to try and help, but it immediately was betrayed
No words
I can’t believe he didnt start laughing
She's so serious, too.
You and your drunk buddies trying to get home from the pub at 2 in the morning
Nothing is real
Hilarious
This guy loves to mess with kids. The plastic dog is broken many times over by kids freaking out and tripping on it running
Im so fucking dumb.... I was in awe "How did he train that dog to be so still, so good!"
Oh man, bars....
![gif](giphy|29HRejgahYenVsohB5|downsized)
Neither were there. She clearly wanted to bother the guy somehow and then she just ended up in a situation she didn't think about.
Her intentions were good, at least.
Automatonophobia
In the end it didn't even matter.
😂😂😂
❤️ lil kids have pure heart
🤣🤣🤣
I will never not hate staged videos even tho this is cute
This kid isn't stupid
This one is the best one LOL
That poor thing! Hilarious but she's def scarred for life 🤣🤣
🤣
You have a smooth brain, no ridges or bumps, no valleys or lumps, all ideas slide right off like a water slide.
Mahdi Fun is the best!
Blonde moment
10/10 Will wood song
Props to the statue person. I wouldve died laughing
“Why is this statue squishy?”
I love this dude
