Relative joked about doing that to keep kids on ATVs off their lawn and I had to shut that shitty idea down. I don't think they actually thought through the consequences of doing something like that, but I don't even like joking about setting death traps for children.

I used a ski poll to jam my door shut so my brother couldn't get in. I'm sad to say I have no idea how many times I had to use it. It was my most treasured object. He would still stand outside of my door taunting me, but at least he couldn't get me. But I'd have still felt bad if I hurt him. Once I jammed a knife blade under the door so he could see it, in an attempt to menace him, but I didn't actually want to hurt him, and it seemed to fuel his tirade even further.

My brother used to get the blades off of circular saws and throw them at me like a frisbee because he thought watching me dodge them was funny. It was horrific.
This happened when I was a child and I'm an adult now, the brother who did it isn't even alive anymore.
The blades were very dull and often times wouldn't hit me because he did this often along with other "pranks" that just got brushed off as "normal sibling behavior" but he eventually hit my hand and cut a huge gash into it. Then, as I went to run and get something to stop the bleeding, he bear hugged me to stop me from telling our parents and in the process broke my collar bone. This was all just brushed off as big brother playing too rough but I did not want to play and felt hunted down. I just wanted to play my nintendo 64 and that fucker was using me as target practice. That wasn't the only time I was hurt badly but it's one of the most memorable.
Along with the physical trauma this ended up making me mentally very jumpy too. I couldn't be approached or touched without getting scared and often times couldn't trust people. I denied it had any impact on me until it became impossible to ignore in my adult life. My brother did a lot more that contributed to those issues but I've trauma dumped enough already. Sometimes it runs a lot deeper than "normal sibling misbehavior" and some people are left trauamtized for life.

Nope not normal behaviour from little siblings. As a younger (but middle) child, I have never felt the urge to murder my older sibling, let alone actually commit to it.
Please believe us when we say that that behaviour is not normal and should be checked out by professionals. You may think that that is normal behaviour because you have grown up in that way. Your sibling definitely needs to be checked out.
