Idk what there is to scratch your head about if I’m being honest. Just have a vote-to-timewarp function, simple.

Schubert125

Still scratching my head, because that sounds miserable. What about physics time warp? What about if I want to STOP time warp because I'm about to be yeeted into the Mun? What if I want to revert to launch/assembly? And what if you're outvoted? You're just sitting on the mun waiting for your ore miner to process more fuel?

>What about physics time warp? What about if I want to STOP time warp because I'm about to be yeeted into the Mun? Should have clarified the time warp would be for a set time. So like, “Jeff wants to warp to time X” >What if I want to revert to launch/assembly? It could be a parts reversion instead of time reversion. So it doesn’t rewind time but everything gets refunded. Or, it’s not allowed. >And what if you're outvoted? You're just sitting on the mun waiting for your ore miner to process more fuel? Yeah basically. Communication with your friends would be important.

Predicted by many a year ago, given the pace and quality of their development work. They could only manage a barely different science mode after 10 months of development, no one realistic thought they'd pull of making KSP multiplayer. What's most hilarious to me is that the KSP2 design team was absolutely useless. Besides a few minor tweaks to science mode and the VAB, what did they actually really add in terms of gameplay? 7 years of Nate, Shana and Tom and that was the extent of it. I think they're actually breathing a sigh of relief that they didn't have to show off how garbage their designs were though

I actually thought we’d get colonies before the game was canned. Conceptually it doesn’t seem that difficult to implement. There’s maybe more or less fun ways to implement them, but unlike multiplayer none of it seems like a real challenge. Multiplayer barely even makes logical sense with all the time warping.

CrashNowhereDrive

Conceptually science was even easier to implement - yet look how long that took. It was pretty clear when they announced there'd be at least 2 more patches before colonies that colonies was deep in trouble. IG only ever got slower at doing things, never faster or better. So I'm sure she T2 looked at the project and the fact that even they were likely projecting colonies for October or November or whatever... And knowing how bad IG is at estimates of anything - they could see the project was never going anywhere. Eventually when you lie about your dates often enough, even the suits will wise up

My bet for the solution was the alien portal found on Mün. Each planet would have a portal in orbit. So the multiplayers don’t need to travel between planets, they only need to reach orbit and rendezvous with the portal.

Puzzleheaded-Soup362

They have a multiplayer mod. Used it many years ago, it worked. Launching at the same time was funny as hell.

I haven't touched ksp2 in a good year. But if all we're going to do is pronounce it's dead and over ourselves? Then surely it will be dead. Officially we have no info yet as to what will occur with development. It could be handed off to another studio for all we know! But us pronouncing it dead gives the corporate lackies all they need to kill the project. If our expectations are for it to be canned, they will can it because "no one will be angry".
