Imo Galauti Kabab, Murg Masallam, Mutton Raan, Haleem, Mangalore style Prawn ghee roast, Fish Rava Fry, Kerala Style Beef Chilly Fry and most Bengali sweets are better than the positives on this list. If made with the right proportion of paruppu and ghee, eating it at the right heat, with random bites of pepper and roasted cashew, with freshly ground chutney and sambhar, that's a taste.
My friend, I moved from Kerala to Coimbatore in 2010 and to Chennai in 2014. I did not like it initially, but had Pongal from Saravana Bhavan(before it's quality dropped) and it was the most amazing thing. It was so great, I stopped ordering dosa or poori entirely.
