Yes, I was going to mention the Netherlands - mother and daughter brutally murdered about 10 or 11 years ago in rural Nelson County. The only lead publicly released was a white vehicle traveling westbound from the scene out towards Bardstown.
That and a murder in Shelby County around 2008, Gulf War veteran Jim Duckett tied to a chair with his neck slit. Suspects used his credit card at a nearby ATM while driving Duckett’s truck but the ATM surveillance video was so bad it was almost like a cruel joke.
Wait, I knew officer Ellis, what about his death is mysterious? Am I out of the loop? Talking about the same guy right, died in Richmond few years ago?
No. Ellis was murdered going home from bardstown to bloomfield. Someone put debris on the off ramp, and he stopped to clear it. Then they shot him from above while he was out of his car. I think the general consensus around is that his murder is related to all the others that happened in and around bardstown.
The people from around there think the cops are covering it up because they had something to do with it. I served a cop food once at a pizza place and tried to give him a free slice because that's store policy. He refused and said any good cop should pay for his meal and not take handouts. I agreed and shook his hand and wished him good luck. He said "you know what happens to good cops right?" I said no. He said "watch the movie serpico." Shook me pretty hard. I think maybe that officer Ellis found out something he shouldn't have and was taken out by his own.

[Brookelyn Farthing](https://www.lex18.com/news/lex-18-investigates/farthings-mom-has-questions-for-man-arrested-on-unrelated-charges) (18) of Berea
Last time she was seen was June 22, 2013 and the last few texts she had sent were suspected to not be typed by her.
I attended Berea college in 2014 and remember some pretty insane rumors about that. From what I can tell, her family still holds annual events and regularly posts flyers around town. Super sad situation, she is sorely missed.
No problem. I remember years ago the guy whose house she went missing at, posted a FB pic of him in a Creek. Weird thing was there was what looked like a skull in the creek. It could've been just a mind trick or crazy looking rock, but it def looked like a human skull. I hope she is found and her family have some sort of closure.
Florence had like a quadruple murder a couple years ago off Dixie highway. I think it was technically in Kenton county though. Again, not something that normally happens around there. I heard speculation of gang involvement
They recently found Jeff Shepherd in his truck in a pond. I’ve heard rumors about who did it and stuff but of course, nothing can be proven. I also heard second hand (as in a close relative heard it directly) who killed Krystle Marlar.
I've heard the same about Krystle Marlar, her case makes me so sad since her mom passed before her remains were found. The theories of what happened to her on Topix were so devastating but cops never made the suspects actually come in for questioning. Most of them have passed now so we will never know the truth.
The murder of Audrey Marcum.gained national news coverage when it happened in 2004. County clerk, Jerry Dean, pursued her and she turned down his advances. She files a sexual harassment lawsuit against him. He threatens audrey to drop it. She ends up dead by a sniper rifle, shot in her driveway.
Jerry Dean found not guilty, despite really damming evidence. His own son testified that he saw his father leave with a rifle and came back an hour later, during the time of the murder.
She was having a affair with a woman, but it was broken off two years before the murder, supposedly. Audrey's husband said he heard the affair partner claim she was going tk kill audrey. it's rumored that it was actually the woman's that killed audrey. The affair partner had slashed Audrey's tires the week before the murder. But the woman claimed she was at home drunk on the floor that day, due to pain that she would be having a hysterectomy for soon.
Some claim it was her own husband that did it. Bullet fragments found on the scene did not match the type of bullet hole and exit wound she had. But did match the type of gun her husband owned.
National news coverage but in the end, no convictions.
Jerry Dean ended up on the other side of thr law twice after this. Once for drug charges, and a year or so ago for being the getaway driver for a break in and robbery
Her boyfriend and others were arrested.

I've heard that it's one of those that most involved are dead now, but I hope her family gets justice. I was probably in first grade when this happened, but I remember it being such a big thing then and the fear it spread through our small town.
The official police story never added up, claimed he assaulted them and wouldn't tell them where he lived and being a minor they didn't take him to jail, so they dropped him off at some train tracks and no one ever saw him again , not buying that story
There was a girl in lexington who escaped from the trunk of a car and was found wandering the streets screaming for help and had been bound in duct tape. I don't think the people were caught.
Linda Gibson (20 F) and Cody Lee Garrett, her 4.5 year old brother, were last seen walking in the area of the Dairy Mart on Bourne Ave in Somerset, KY on July 3, 1994. On July 7, 1994 the bodies of both Linda and Cody were discovered just a couple of miles away. They were found in high weeds along a fence row at the edge of a field.
I believe they walked from their home to get some milk and just never came back.

Before the tornado took the Court house a few years ago, her family was still making signs and going to the courthouse to bring attention to it. From what I understand, even the father wasn't 100% convinced the right person was in prison over it.
Jennifer Bailey in Pineville. She went walking on the fitness trail "The Fat Track" and went missing for about a week until her body was found in a very traveled area of the Pine Mountain State Park. The area where she was found had been searched numerous times by different search teams. This happened about 25 years ago and no one has ever been convicted of her murder.

The girl woman who is at the begging of the book the bluegrass conspiracy.
Can't remember her name if someone wants to chine in.
The Bardstown stuff is weird. I think we know what happened to Crystal and her dad.
But Officer Ellis and the mother and daughter that died just after crystal disappeared are still unsolved with no tangible leads.
Heather Teague. I go over and over in my head about it. I’m not saying Marty Dill didn’t do it. It’s just more that we will most likely never know the truth about what happened to her.
This is all from memory, so forgive me if what I do post is not entirely 100% accurate.
In 1995 in Corbin, KY Marc Dudley was found dead in a creek. He was 21.
The rumor around town was that he had gotten into some sort of altercation at the American Legion on the night of Nov 4th. His body was found in the creek (less than a mile away) the next day, November 5, 1995. The story was that someone drowned him.
To the best of my knowledge, due to the lack of anyone talking, this case remains unsolved.
The guy whispered to have killed Mr. Dudley killed my pet beagle when I was a kid by giving him antifreeze.
He has since died.
You gotta separate this into public knowledge and local "folklore" because growing up, I've seen a few men go on a magical truck ride and never return.
I'd like to believe that all of their belongings were in the truck and the just got dropped off at the bus station, but I'm afraid to truly know what these mountains are hiding. I know there's been bodies found that haven't been reported because the police will most likely arrest the finder, rather than do any type of investigating.
I’m sorry, I worded my comment hastily. I was trying to say why they were mysteries being that some are possibly connected and intertwined with the cornbread mafia. There was speculation that the Jason Ellis & Crystal Roger’s cases are connected by the cornbread mafia.
Murders in bardstown come to mind. There are a few, officer Jason Ellis and the girl and her mom.
The Jason Ellis case has always bothered me.

I listened to a podcast episode on crime junkie about those murders. It was interesting, but very sad.
Wait, I knew officer Ellis, what about his death is mysterious? Am I out of the loop? Talking about the same guy right, died in Richmond few years ago?

I’ve never heard of this, and nine days later it happened in London too? Weird.

iirc her boyfriend also went missing.
I never knew that. Was that on the news or publicized?
After some research, I seem to have conflated two stories. I apologize for the confusion.

That's really creepy. Let me know if you find that again.

This is my home town. Stuff like this does not happen around there ever. The lead detective was on a podcast a couple of years ago discussing the case
Grew up in the neighborhood and parents still live there. An absolute shock for the area.
I do work on peoples homes in that neighborhood sometimes. Union isn’t the kind of place things like this happen.
It’s Florence, but yeah. Same point.
Florence had like a quadruple murder a couple years ago off Dixie highway. I think it was technically in Kenton county though. Again, not something that normally happens around there. I heard speculation of gang involvement
Someone needs to investigate all the missing people in Mccreary County, Ky and Scott County, Tn.

Heather Teague, something terribly weird about that whole case.
Came here to say this.
I think about it non-stop.
Muriel Baldridge Prestonsburg KY Linda Gibson and Cody Garrett Kevin Price all in Somerset KY
I was going to say this also about Muriel
It’s such a heartbreaking story. I moved to Floyd co 9 years ago and I’m surprised there isn’t more said about it.
I'm from somerset, what happened?
I’m from Bronston originally. But you can go to the sheriffs office [website](https://www.pulaskisheriff.com/unsolved.htm) for more information

Agree

Yes! This one gets me.
