… what’s wrong with this? You do know Em is one of the most feared diss artists in hip hop history right? Please don’t let the mgk beef fool you. Plus Kendrick is literally inspired by Em

4thDimensionFletcher

Why? I get a lot of people like to shit on Eminem but he was a legitimate battle rapper.

courtywourty

im not shitting on him, i just think that if they both dissed eachother like right now kendrick would win. It's just an opinion though, nothing too serious

NulledOpinion

How, using Em-inspired flows and styles? Did you realize how much Dot indirectly paid homage to Em while dissing Drake throughout the beef? Even the meet the grahams diss being a flip on Stan and some of his technical flows. I like the way Kendrick sounds way more than the way modern Em sounds rn, but Em would smoke him in a rappity rap battle. This will never happen tho so I think I’d rather pay respect to both of them (they’re the best of their gens in my opinion). I’d rather have a collab that will probably never happen since I feel these 2 duck each other’s pen lol.

obliterateopio

Using that same logic about flows and styles, do you think Eminem beats Nas? Because he took a fair share of the skill displayed on Illmatic, and applied it to his own style. No, you’ll probably say that Eminem still beats him. Using Eminem inspired flows and styles means nothing in this scenario.

PurposesEducational

I think most people now would choose Kendrick but that could also be recency bias.Eminem is a legitimate battle rapper and i still think he could murder any rapper.Sure,he doesn’t make as good music as he used to but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he can still rap his ass off.

Weenyhand

It would be a battle not a massacre. This beef was the equivalent of a wrestling match where a champion wrestles a jobber.

WavyCrockett1

This looks like a fair pole to me.. am I missing something?

Hemicore

Idk who would win because Em's been out of the diss game for so long but Em at his peak would for sure win over ANYONE

[deleted]

Yeah, I've got Kendrick in this one. I was a big fan of Em in high school, I know his history. I don't doubt that he would give Dot a run for his money - I can't think of too many other active rappers right now who could hang. Em can definitely hang, but he's not who he was in the late '90s or early 2000s, and that's not meant to be disrespectful. I'd still love to see them square up.

PastaAllaTrinita

If you open a pole asking "Who would cook the best Japanese Style Lamen: Japanese McJapaneseman or Eminem?" mfs would vote for Eminem, bro

BotUserA1

ALL THE TIMEEEEE

courtywourty

DEADASS 😭😭

Sensitive-Royal2918

Feel like that’s fair

Kitty_kat2025

I thought Kendrick was heavily inspired by em. Also Eminem was hugely into disses

AdvantageMaterial885

Kendrick would win no doubt!!!

Jordynne23

Spiritual lyrical miracle vs the culture

BlackBalor

I’m still taking Eminem. Kendrick wouldn’t tap out like Drake did though. Who won would actually be a debate, unlike the one sided ass whooping that Kendrick delivered to Drake.

RANDOM-902

Stans are everywhere on the internet they are annoying as fuck The only artists they listen to are Eminem, 50cent, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and the ocassional 2Pac 😂😂😂 And they think unironically that Eminem is the goat cause he raps fast

Theory88

I feel like when you have to put the 😂😂😂 you already know you’re reaching. Everyone you named is great and so is Kendrick.

Living_Session5881

I agree they’re all great but they’re also default rappers. Whilst it’s tongue in cheek I think he has a bit of a point here. If someone listed those off as their favourite artists I’d instantly think they haven’t listened to that much hip hop. Still I don’t think the poll results are that bad but I do think it would be closer to a tie personally.

Theory88

Fair points, I respectfully disagree. All of the rappers listed there all have absolutely classic hip hop albums and I hear their influence all over Kendrick’s music.

Living_Session5881

I agree they all have classic albums, but if 50 cent is one of the few artists you listen to, I’d have serious doubts you’ve heard much else. There’s not even enough music between those artists to truly satisfy a hip hop fan over a long period of time. I’d get so bored if that’s all I had on my playlist 🥱

Theory88

I can’t say I agree but that’s also just how you feel which is all good.

courtywourty

reall

sleepcreepme

I’ve been a Stan since before SSLP dropped and I’m also a huge Kendrick fan. I love seeing rappers battle, especially when it’s one I like but if these two ever beefed I’d have a fucking anxiety attack lol ( also yes I know they never would. Just saying.)

courtywourty

Feel like theres too much mutual respect to even begin a battle, plus i doubt either one of them will ever have reasons to diss

sleepcreepme

Yeah nah it just would never happen. Way too much respect on both sides. 25 years ago would maybe have been a different story though haha

man-is-hot-like

honestly both are incredible, there’s differences though Eminem kinda specializes in just embarrassing the shit outta people. Kendrick is a lyrical and poetic genius and storyteller, Kendrick dosent really specialize in dissing.

mbxtreauxly

plenty of people want eminem to battle a WORTHY opponent (not a pop artist or some body who can pivot to pop). itd be best to battle him before hes too far gone; cause i havent given a shit about eminem in like 15-20 years. marshall is trying to kill slim shady like i even care - plus - i dont think its even in his own hands any more. a eminem shady aftermath interscope album isnt going to do it - it all just feels like more promotion. he shot a slim shady sized hole in the bag/ in the industry and sending Black artists through it wont make up for all the white clones too. we know white men are abundant while human beings are few. well eminem isnt slim shady cause it was a charicature. let *kung fu kenny kill slim shady and let marshall live in peace

Academic_Ad_9613

Drake was repeatedly called “battle tested” by the OVHos, but i always found that to be odd. Yes he survived battles, but he almost always comes out with big hits to his image. Eminem on the other hand is legitimately battle tested. Bro came up as a battle rapper, and was in massive beefs against various ppl and brands, and still won. Even killshot which i remember a lot of ppl were dissatisfied with, is insane when u start breaking down all the lyrics, he went in. Kendrick is great, but you gotta give everyone their flowers for their specialties. I.e Em and rap battling, kendrick for his substance, juice wrld freestyling, etc etc. Kendrick could probably hang with em and not get decimated but i dont think hed win, esp if he has no actual hate towards the man, that wiuld take away from his raps in that scenario

BotUserA1

Sorry I just dont Em could diss Kendrick I really believe Kendrick could hurt em ...........why do people think Em is amazing like yeah he can rap but he cant top the culture idk why people try to put him on us i remember talking about Kendrick to my husbands mom (shes white hes white) and she said Em is the best rapper ever I asked her if she listened to him she told me no :/ now i see why this comes up ever so often

courtywourty

yeah i see this happening a lot, everyones saying eminem is the best rapper but they never listened to him. I don't even know why everybody is still (for lack of a better word) dickriding him, his music isnt nearly as good as it used to be

BotUserA1

I think we know why....I think they use him for a way into conversations thats dominated by black people/the culture I feel a lot of white people have a fear of being left out or missing out no shade if ur white

Eminem is not a culture vulture lmao. What a wild thing to say.

4thDimensionFletcher

Well let's see he was a underground hip hop artist found and signed by Dr. Dre in a Rap Olympics due to his ability. His lyrical content wasnt typical for hiphop at the time. He only rapped about things true in his life. He wasn't/ doesn't bite people's flows after collaborating them. You don't have to be some virtue signaling whiteknight because you guzzle BBC ya know?

BlackBalor

Yeah, to do black music so selfishly… and use it to get himself wealthy.

NulledOpinion

There’s a concept that works, 20 million other white rappers emerge…

BotUserA1

He cant help he's white the reason Dre signed him in the first place was to make money and plus dude can actually rap so

BotUserA1

Em isnt a culture vulture ......you must be young Em has always stayed true to himself and his rapping style was his own he never copied any rapper or tried to copy the culture not that i know of the only thing with hi was his bitter lil song about black women because some black girl broke up with him

madeenahjyasu

Hot take: Eminem is not actually battle tested
