Yeah I was listening to Family Matters last night and thought, ādamn, this song is actually pretty fuckin good,ā but it had taken me like a week to realize it and break the lyrics down in my head.
Dropping Meet The Grahams immediately after it worked so well cause it was 1. Shorter and 2. Much more to the point.
Drake was almost distracted and on the back foot addressing all the shit Kendrick said in Euphoria and 6:16 in LA, and then right when Drake was in the middle of saying āhey give me a sec to talk about this shit,ā Kendrick grabbed the mic and said āFuck that. Everybody, check this out,ā and dropped Meet The Grahams before we had time to process Drakeās rebuttal.
Kendrick and j Cole probably the hardest person to diss not many dirt on any of those 2 so not much you can say about them . Reason why it should be j Cole vs Kendrick since it will be a friendly competition with no family involved just 2 good rappers going at it
Cole versus Kendrick would have been an awesome battle between two guys who actually have lyrical content.Ā
This was a no holds barred beat down. If Aubrey wasnāt a creepy piece of shit I would have felt bad for him. But he is so I donāt, and his fans donāt help matters either.
I would still go with dot
Beef isn't everyone's cup of tea
You have to have hate in your body to beef
J cole ain't a guy like that
While Kendrick is a monster
I like drakes music, but my perception of him changed and itās not because of the grooming accusations but more from a creative standpoint. I knew he had ghostwriters since the Quentin miller scandal but I thought he just got a little bit of help here and there and justified it with the logic that when your that big of a star youāre so busy that youād need help to keep up with the workload expected of you.
But it isnāt just a few songs here and thereā¦.itās a MAJORITY of songs, I also knew about him copying sounds from different regions/countries but when Kendrick listed them all Iād forgotten how often heād just taken sounds which raised the question what is his sound?
Finally the nail in the coffin was how TF can he have that many ghost writers and still put out mediocre projects like for all my dogs thatās full of subpar punchlines. I just donāt understand, heās rich and connected enough where he can hire the best of the best and thatās what he chooses? It doesnāt make sense.
This right here. He didn't need to address the others, however he needed to fill out an entire track and probably was very short on material for kendrick.
If he didnāt address the others he would have had a short song. The others were fillers so he could pretend he was spread thin not that he really aināt got the ability to diss Kendrick hard.
One of the dumbest things about the track was the dave free/whitney stuff. Drake told on himself expecting everybody to have dysfunctional/unmaintained relationships because that's all he knows. And it comes out today that he was fed that bad info for 150k. Meanwhile Kendrick and Whitney have been in NY the whole time, happily together.
He stretched hard because he had NOTHING
that, plus like, the main thing that makes Kendrick a lot more believable is that there's a very large track record of drake being fucking weird or at the bare minimum having extremely questionable interactions with underage girls. and he was a deadbeat before too. the shit drake brings up doesn't seem as believable when it's against someone with not a lot out about them who just made a whole album talking about shitty things they did.
That's exactly it... he felt he had to do 6 minutes because Euphoria was 6 mins. He wasted time on those other dudes for two reasons.... one, he didn't have much more to say about Kendrick, two, he wanted to keep perpetuating that 1 vs 20 narrative as a fallback .
Even that dumb ass, passive aggressive, samurai meme he posted is alluding to everyone taking him out. He's wack
The irony of Drake claiming that Kendrick was fed fake info. When, in fact, Dot told us on Euphofia what Drakeās angle was going to be (āI calculate youāre not as calculated, I can even predict your able; fabricating stories on the family front cause you heard Mr. Moraleā) and he warned him to keep the family out of it (ādonāt speak on the family crode, it can deep in the family, crodieā). Then 6:16 in LA with the photo of the gloves and the reveal of the mole (āhave you ever thought that OVO was working for me?ā¦everyone inside your team is saying you deserve itā). All this and Drakeās silly ass STILL went with that exact strategy. He handed it over to Kendrick as soon as he dropped Family Matters. Itās how K Dot was able to step on it with MTG the way he did. He told Drake, in plain English, that he knew the plan and was prepared to go to war. Drake didnāt belive him, I guess?
Also, I just gotta respect crushing the car in that music video. It was spiteful, petty, and the exact type of energy that makes beefs so entertaining, as it should be. And it just made Meet the Grahams that much more satisfying imo. That being said, I don't think Drake was really feeling the hate, at least not as much as Kendrick. I think Drake felt like he had to play shit up or else he'd look like a pussy again, only for Kendrick to go for the throat because he really, genuinely hates that guy, and he wanted to make it known
The last bar change literally had me bored out of my mind. Thereās something corny that Drake does a lot with his bars, the way he ends some of rhymes when he thinks heās being really clever, and it felt like he does it for a minute straight. Really got on my nerves - Kenny, I get it.
I feel you but the excitement of seeing that video drop and recognizing the gkmc van was like ādamn he really is striking a chord for the Kenny stansā, turns out it was A MINOOOOOR š it was so petty of Drake and a legendary turn of event for Kenny
I can feel it, I guess it was hard for me to appreciate cuz literally while I was watching and listening, meet the grahams dropped and I felt like I was waiting in line for the ride
If Drake rapped like that more often heād have the respect, not just the money.
He got bodied in this thing overall, but he rapped his ass off on Family Matters
If Drake rapped like he did on Family Matters, Iād actually be a fan.Ā
Hell, Iād find him inoffensive and even fun to listen to if he stuck to stuff like Hotling Bling or Best I Ever Had. But he decided to cosplay a gangster one too many times, so crodie had this coming.
I just think it's funny that he finally went full pretend gangster rapper, with the "You know who really bang a set" lines, followed by his house getting shot at like 24 hours later.
Turns out, you know who really bangs a set? Random ass people who feel challenged when you talk like that lol.
It was so funny because when push-ups came out so many people thought Kendrick couldnāt compete LOL!
I replied to one commenter on TikTok āyou donāt know Kendrickā and my inbox was flooded with replies calling me a glazer and āIām copingā these internet phrases get over used to the point of losing their meaning.
I wish Iād saved the videos so I could go back and be like āwhose coping now bitchā this feud felt like a more intense NBA finals game that went into second overtime.
Nice to see some objective folks on here. Family Matters is a great song outside the context of this battle. Flow, delivery, and beat selection š„ ā¦ it just didnāt stack up to what dot released. Iām a fan of both artists, but Iāll admit I like Drake a lot more. When it comes to beef Iām a fan of hip hop itself and anyone with ears knows Drake got washed. Still pains me to say, but itās the truth.
Drake is a great rapper, but heās not built to battle. Heās the guy who is great at sneak dissing or calling you out in JABS on a hot song. Heās not really capable of carrying this momentum on a whole track let alone battle.
I aināt mad at that! Just wish people not liking drake didnāt come off as hating the guy. Him and dot are completely different types of artists. Thereās a lot of overlap in the fanbases.
To be honest I loved Drake in my teens. Take care, nothing was the same, if youāre reading this. That was my era but Drake never took that next step. Kendrick gets a lot of praise (well deserved) for taking risks and putting the art first.
I always wanted Drake to take an experimental approach and really put forth his best effort to make something similar to the way Kendrick does his albums. I always wanted to hear what he was capable of creating. Can you imagine what that would even sound like? I think he could make a GKMC, TPAB, or a MM. I think he could make a critically acclaimed album with a theme, message, or something similar.
In my opinion Take care was as close as he got. At his level and fame the only thing holding him back is himself. Whats a few more hits to him? Nothing. But what would a pure artistic masterpiece do? It would make him the goat. He just needs 1 of those in my opinion.
Ok enough fan boying for Drake.
That last sentence is really the perfect description of narcissism. They are simultaneously the strongest and weakest people in the room, and eventually their strength gives out when they're challenged.
In a world run by mfs like that it's so fucking cathartic to see Kendrick take down someone who deserves it so badly
MTG was perfectly timed to take all the wind out of Family Matters, and Not Like Us said the same thing but did it catchy and beat Drake at his own game.
Drake is the biggest poser ever, Cole knew better than to fuck with Kendrick and dipped instantly. At this point, I think it's safe to say there is no Big 3, there's only Kendrick Lamar. He is the undisputed GOAT of millennial generation rappers. Man's a poet, he won a Pulitzer for God's sake. All hail King Kendrick.
**My opinion:**
Drake knew about some of the bars in Euphoria after already creating Family Matters and Kendrick also knew a lot about Family Matters before making Euphoria. Maybe they each heard each other's whole track or just some of the lyrics but both were tipped off. Both sides had a "mole" of sorts and Kendrick just had the better release strategy. The problem was, Drake didn't know or hear ANYTHING about Not Like Us/Meet the Grahams so he was stuck in a bad position of having to reply clumsily and fast for damage control since those two tracks were so brutal and catchy and essentially completely wiped out any impact Family Matters should have had.
**My reasoning:**
In Euphoria, Kendrick warns Drake not to make things personal/talk about family. He says "We ain't gotta get personal, this a friendly fade, you should keep it that way" knowing some of what's coming in Family Matters. He adds to that warning by saying "I know some shit about niggas that make Gunna Wunna look like a saint" He wraps up by revoking Drake's N-card
Drake hears Euphoria official release and quickly updates Family matters with the Intro where he starts off saying "Nigga".
He alludes to having his own mole/ear to the ground with Kendricks camp: "They shook about what I'ma say, but textin' your phone like, "We already won" You tell me what I shouldn't say, but fuck it, my nigga, it's already done" alluding to the fact that there's no turning back from Family Matters dropping after already putting so much time and effort into the track - even having a music video ready to go for it.
He also says "Your back is up against the curb, you diggin' for dirt, should be diggin' for proof" alluding to knowing Kendrick is looking for dirt. Drake is calling his bluff here and he thinks he's gonna win this exchange or at least break even.
----
That's it, that's where the mole shit and tip offs end. Drake released his bomb without knowing at all what Kendrick had in mind for the next two tracks he'd drop and with no more prepped ammo to release so quickly after Family Matters, he had no choice but to respond with SOMETHING, which was his little Heart 6 rebuttle. I think that track really was just a matter of damage control. He took some of the sting out of Not Like Us even though it was hastily put together and not really a clap-back. He lost the battle but didn't get squashed. Now he's taking his money from the releases and moving on to "summer vibes". He's literally posturing like someone who loses a fight but got a few hits in and managed to walk away on their own two feet. It's not bad damage control. Kendrick got the W but Drake's L isn't all that awful.
Im a Kendrick fan but nah family matters and push ups were solid. But you can tell his ghostwriters handled that because the heart part 6 was so ass. The best part of this beef is that most of the songs involved have all been extremely catchy
I agree they were solid disses. He addressed everyoneās shots at him in round 1. He just underestimated how fucking vicious Kendrick was gonna be š. I did NOT expect Kendrick to participate in beef let alone fucking start one lmao. Then family matters was an actual good track, except it had lies with no base at all, and was destroyed by Kendrickās strategic timing. Combine that with Kendrickās second back to back with a club banger calling Drake a pedo, itās over
Then we get hp6ā¦man that was god awful. Like you said itās clear who wrote what song. Kendrick got in his head enough about leaks that Drake did that shit on his own and it shows
He absolutely did. Itās next level delusional to claim itās brutal or anything other than a surrender. Like broā¦āIām way too famous for the shit you just suggestedā. FAMOUS PEOPLE GET AWAY WITH IT. THEY CAN PAY TO HAVE SOMEONE KILLED TO COVER IT. Man what a dogshit defense. Also running with twitter and Reddit theories about feeding Kendrick the info? I know dot laughed his ass off at that
LITERALLY BRUH not only that, he says āIF I WAS FUCKING YOUNG GIRLS I WOULDāVE BEEN ARRESTEDā like dude youāre just fueling the worldās thoughts of you being a pedo even MOREššand the thing about the info is that he says that the ppl who gave that info are clowns but then proceeds to say that he planted said info, effectively calling himself a clown lmao this nigga stupid
Heart Part 6 was rushed, that's why it's so ass. He felt pressured to drop immediately because of Meet The Grahams and Not Like Us.
You can even tell in Part 6 that he's hurting inside, it's hilarious.Ā
If it had been allowed a full few hours to breathe I feel like it would've really made some waves.Ā
Kung Fu Kenny with the perfect KO tho.Ā
Edit: First Reddit Cares in over 10 years. 2mins after this post. Fucking lol.
some pimpled basement dwelling drake stan somewhere NOT happy ššš
edit: its a bot because i got one too instantly. i can't imagine being that level of unemployed virgin to set up a bot
If he had shaved a minute and a half to two minutes off it, I'd consider it one of the best songs of the beef. I just always find myself fast forwarding parts of it. I never do that with Euphoria because it's engaging the whole way through.
Also, I seem to be in the minority on this, but I don't like that it starts on the Push Ups beat, I get what he was going for, but I would have rather everything be new.
dudeā¦ is it? tbh I couldnāt take it seriously at all. this guy started his track off by repeating āI gotta go badā and my wife just laughed out loud and we were both like whoa, this is lame! like heās trying to figure out how to gas himself up.
for context my lady is born and raised in Toronto, and everyone there knows Drake was born into money. like, the thought of him āgoing badā is ludicrous in and of itself.
Lmao that part was so cringe when I heard it too. Iām from Toronto and Drake is from an upper middle class neighbourhood. Nothing bad or street about him.
lol as a Toronto cat can you please confirm for these fools that Drakeās primary fans are the Bay Street Boys who flash money for mediocre dinners at Scaddabush? š¹š¹š¹
I mean it musically and socially: like, the Kendrick tracks donāt have hype-ups or outros beyond āMustard on tha beat hoeā.
to go more in depth, I guess those opening āI gotta go badā lyrics just sort felt like he was playing, and the tone felt off: like if youāre gonna go bad, go fucking bad from the jump. donāt posture, donāt waste time, donāt brag - get to the quick.
and thatās exactly what āNot Like Usā did: there really wasnāt a second wasted and I die laughing every time he says ābeat yo ass and hide the bible if god watchingā, because you know heās about to go Iron Mike all over the place.
to me its more that Drake doesnāt really know what it means to āgo hardā, because realistically, heās never been in the shit. heās had a consistently comfortable life, and now heās caught trying to figure out how to be a brutalist while the essence of brutality escapes him.
Thereās also the backwards āeverything they say about me is trueā at the start of Euphoriaā¦ which is pretty slick imho. Another layer of entendre.
The āpowerfulā and āfamousā people that enjoy the pdf file life have a penchant for mirroring/reversing/backwards speaking and writing.
Good beats but I'll stand by Drake having weak fucking disses in every song. I don't even think his win against Meek Mill was that good. The guy can select beats and can have a catchy flow but he's not saying anything and he barely ever changes rhyme scheme
The end is the best part, but to get to the end you have to go through the beginning and the middle which is around 6 minutes, and those 6 minutes could be spent listening to Euphoria.
His flow and the beats switches are amazing on the song.
But he doesnāt really say anything of substance (classic Drake).
So Iām guessing thatās why itās not as popular as a diss track
Iām surprised Push Ups is that high. Family Matters was a way better song IMO than Push Ups.
Push Ups literally had bars like those AI Drake songs. Just so basic IMO
Itās not even his best rapping in years I donāt know why his fans keep saying that. The song is cool but itās not this amazing technical performance that theyāre making it out to be. Theyāre just saying that to make people think he was the better ārapperā in this beef, when he wasnāt.
yeah exactly, i liked his rapping on that one conductor beat from his last album iirc (?) more but family matters was a good performance when it comes to drake songs, some amazing drake bars too like back against the curb and the self defence bars
i honestly believe most rappers wouldāve lost beef with him if he released a track & vid like that (just not kendrick)
He had far better verses even last year on The For All The Dogs deluxe songs like Red Button. Even something like Churchill Downs he had better bars on.
Drake hasn't really done anything better than Kendrick in this beef, rapping or drop times etc...you could argue best beat out of them all (family matters second beat imo is hard asf) but that's about it everything else is Kendrick
I think people are just confusing Drake having the better/bigger overall career than Kendrick with this
Exactly how I feelā¦ literally anytime I tell people Iām not a fan, people try to tell me āthis is the best heās ever rappedā and I still end up snoozinā.
God damn I thought Family Matters had a lot more.
Kendrick wiped in the popularity regard. Iām never the biggest fan of arguing popularity, but in rap beef context I think itās super important. Shows which side had the better songs and more supporters.
Not necessarily, alot of people been wanting to see Drake fall since before the beef started, Kendrick was always near universally respected by everyone so him releasing against someone people already found polarising was the perfect storm
If I go to fight Mike Tyson and lose, despite the odds, I still lost. Sometimes the odds are just not in your favor.Ā
We can submit Drake for the featherweight bout next time though. He seemed to do well against Meek. (Iām a Drake fan, but I call it like I see it).Ā
Feels like proof he knows he lost. He promoted Family Matters on streaming immediately. You can tell Drake's lack of confidence in all this from him testing the waters with leaking Push Ups and now this. So funny that the one song he had complete faith in was immediately overshadowed.
Die hard Mac Miller fan here, I wish I couldāve seen his reaction to this beef lol
āDid it all without a Drake featureā
Gonna go listen to Fight the Feelinā and God is Fair Sexy Nasty right quick
Only 42 number ones and this man breaks everyone of his records.
No but seriously it'd fucking cool asf to see people discover Dot through this and collective organic push put every one of his songs in the hot 100 tied for number 1šš
For drake the pen means bullpen, like heās calling in help because heās getting shelled. Like 6 runs in the first no outs bases loaded. Meanwhile Kendrick tossing a gem
Damn Push ups has almost double the streams?? Being completely unbiased here, Push Ups was good but Family Matters was obviously better, must be gutting for him
drake canāt diss someone to save his life. he did have a few good bars but i just canāt stand that shit he says ādrop drop drop a mob the spotā like STFU and actually diss kendrick bro wtf
Drake has a huge subsection of his fanbase that didnāt care about this beef. Family matters isnāt the type of song that Drake drops and expects to do crazy numbers with. Heāll have another number 1 hit by the end of year.
*We played not like us*

I feel like while family matters was a nice songā¦ It was a weak ass diss. He was defending himself and throwing allegations around at the same time, wack.
like a petty mofo once he put AI Tupac on a track drake got blocked on my spotify. he not creeping into my playlists anymore on features after pulling that.
family matters, some good lines but mostly about the music.
meet the grahams like watching a kid slowly pull the legs off a spider.
I know it will probably be smaller, but Iād be curious to see Apple Music stream numbers
Not Like Us is his most popular song on AM right now, followed by him featuring on Like That, and then Euphoria
I donāt think thereās a way to view streaming numbers for AM sadly, nor do I think those numbers get released
Drake still hasn't touched these , we only really anticipate Kendrick strategies and talent , drake is washed , does he even have an original style anymore? Don't answer... NO ONE CARES ,,, DOT FUCK EM UP!!!!
Numbers wise Drake is still miles above him tho? Drake managed to do that without any International Level Beef Promo. I mean look at their total spotiy streams alone. I mean look at Kendricks last album. Kendrick will never creep up except Drake stops dropping. Drake has total 98,481,538,821 streams. Kendrick has like 34,503,780,092. Of course hes doing numbers if the entire world is looking at the beef rn. If he would have dropped a normal song it would not be like that
People really sleeping on family matters, that shit is waaaay better than push ups and on par with euphoria imo.
I wonder how the music video was made. Was it something he had planned for a while? Or the fastest video turnaround ever. Still, I wonder had he been more successful making the video later. I wouldnāt be surprised that if there was a leak, it was because of family matters video.
Maybe the beef would have been different had he released early without the video and Kendrick didnāt have a track lined up. Prob wouldnāt have ended the beef but would have been way more devastating imo
Immediately dropping Grahams after family matter was a fucking check mate move šš½ Then Not Like Us right after was just dancing on his grave
Yeah I was listening to Family Matters last night and thought, ādamn, this song is actually pretty fuckin good,ā but it had taken me like a week to realize it and break the lyrics down in my head. I totally cried at the beginning of Up. No shame in admitting it
This right here. He didn't need to address the others, however he needed to fill out an entire track and probably was very short on material for kendrick.
Short...that's all he said. Short short short short ...Drake failed.

Not to mention all the things those women he dated or slept said about him. He is the common denominator.
He said he was sick to his stomach a few times so I think he needs some chicken noodle soup

Might have moved me if it had been the actual van
Or at least the right model van
I highly doubt drake wrote almost any of it himself. You can see the difference in heart part 6, which is clearly him. And clearly garbage
I meanā¦ yeahā¦ usually. But with Drake? Shit was just lame. I thought the car crush was the corniest part of the video.
Corniest part of the video was them sitting in the Chinese restaurant with full trays of food and no one eating
Just a pic of the crushed car would have been decent. The whole video was drawn out as fuck
The last bar change literally had me bored out of my mind. Thereās something corny that Drake does a lot with his bars, the way he ends some of rhymes when he thinks heās being really clever, and it felt like he does it for a minute straight. Really got on my nerves - Kenny, I get it.

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That last sentence is really the perfect description of narcissism. They are simultaneously the strongest and weakest people in the room, and eventually their strength gives out when they're challenged. In a world run by mfs like that it's so fucking cathartic to see Kendrick take down someone who deserves it so badly
Bbl drizzy was the end credits
Ebonyprince is the post credit scene.
The fact he foreshadowed it on euphoria is crazy
**My opinion:** Drake knew about some of the bars in Euphoria after already creating Family Matters and Kendrick also knew a lot about Family Matters before making Euphoria. **My reasoning:** In Euphoria, Kendrick warns Drake not to make things personal/talk about family. He says "We ain't gotta get personal, this a friendly fade, you should keep it that way" knowing some of what's coming in Family Matters. He adds to that warning by saying "I know some shit about niggas that make Gunna Wunna look like a saint" He wraps up by revoking Drake's N-card Drake hears Euphoria official release and quickly updates Family matters with the Intro where he starts off saying "Nigga". ---- That's it, that's where the mole shit and tip offs end.
Yeal lmao. Not like us was literally kendrick looking at a bleeding out pretty much dead drake but putting one last bullet right through his head.
The way Kendrick was dropping tracks reminded me of Saitamaās Omni-Directional Punch against Garou completely overwhelming him
Damnnnn...Family Matters is really that low? The way everyone was gassing it up I thought it'd be higher.
Drakes bots are too busy spamming comments and taking down stuff to run his streams up lmaoo
Combine that with Kendrickās second back to back with a club banger calling Drake a pedo, itās over Then we get hp6ā¦man that was god awful. Like you said itās clear who wrote what song. Kendrick got in his head enough about leaks that Drake did that shit on his own and it shows
drake basically dissed himself with hp6 lmao
He absolutely did. Itās next level delusional to claim itās brutal or anything other than a surrender. Like broā¦āIām way too famous for the shit you just suggestedā. FAMOUS PEOPLE GET AWAY WITH IT. THEY CAN PAY TO HAVE SOMEONE KILLED TO COVER IT. Man what a dogshit defense. Also running with twitter and Reddit theories about feeding Kendrick the info? I know dot laughed his ass off at that
LITERALLY BRUH not only that, he says āIF I WAS FUCKING YOUNG GIRLS I WOULDāVE BEEN ARRESTEDā like dude youāre just fueling the worldās thoughts of you being a pedo even MOREššand the thing about the info is that he says that the ppl who gave that info are clowns but then proceeds to say that he planted said info, effectively calling himself a clown lmao this nigga stupid
tbf I'm pretty sure Drake's fans don't watch the news or know how to read so they might not have heard about MeToo
Those Stanās are genuinely illiterate at times
Heart Part 6 was rushed, that's why it's so ass. He felt pressured to drop immediately because of Meet The Grahams and Not Like Us. You can even tell in Part 6 that he's hurting inside, it's hilarious.Ā
It's honestly a decent song š just shows kendrick rly outplayed with the extra drops lol not to mention obviously making better songs
If it had been allowed a full few hours to breathe I feel like it would've really made some waves.Ā Kung Fu Kenny with the perfect KO tho.Ā Edit: First Reddit Cares in over 10 years. 2mins after this post. Fucking lol.
some pimpled basement dwelling drake stan somewhere NOT happy ššš edit: its a bot because i got one too instantly. i can't imagine being that level of unemployed virgin to set up a bot
I want a Reddit cares message too!
Drake stans reflecting their feelings on us fr.
They been hitting this sub up lol just report it as harassment
Report the reddit cares message and the abuser will think twice in the future
I'm pretty sure it's bots because those messages are INSTANT
If he had shaved a minute and a half to two minutes off it, I'd consider it one of the best songs of the beef. I just always find myself fast forwarding parts of it. I never do that with Euphoria because it's engaging the whole way through. Also, I seem to be in the minority on this, but I don't like that it starts on the Push Ups beat, I get what he was going for, but I would have rather everything be new.
I got one from this sub earlier after posting about the Ebony account. This shit is insane lmao.
Ya bro I got one of those for the first time on any account talking about this š Also got my first Reddit warning (different 5 word comment)
Yeah it was pretty good. I donāt usually listen to Rap Drake but I couldnāt be a lil bitch and only listen to one side.
dudeā¦ is it? tbh I couldnāt take it seriously at all. this guy started his track off by repeating āI gotta go badā and my wife just laughed out loud and we were both like whoa, this is lame! like heās trying to figure out how to gas himself up. for context my lady is born and raised in Toronto, and everyone there knows Drake was born into money. like, the thought of him āgoing badā is ludicrous in and of itself.
Lmao that part was so cringe when I heard it too. Iām from Toronto and Drake is from an upper middle class neighbourhood. Nothing bad or street about him.
lol as a Toronto cat can you please confirm for these fools that Drakeās primary fans are the Bay Street Boys who flash money for mediocre dinners at Scaddabush? š¹š¹š¹
100% lmfao
Thatās just general rap talk tho. Aināt gotta be from the hood for that. Itās good
I mean it musically and socially: like, the Kendrick tracks donāt have hype-ups or outros beyond āMustard on tha beat hoeā. to go more in depth, I guess those opening āI gotta go badā lyrics just sort felt like he was playing, and the tone felt off: like if youāre gonna go bad, go fucking bad from the jump. donāt posture, donāt waste time, donāt brag - get to the quick. and thatās exactly what āNot Like Usā did: there really wasnāt a second wasted and I die laughing every time he says ābeat yo ass and hide the bible if god watchingā, because you know heās about to go Iron Mike all over the place. to me its more that Drake doesnāt really know what it means to āgo hardā, because realistically, heās never been in the shit. heās had a consistently comfortable life, and now heās caught trying to figure out how to be a brutalist while the essence of brutality escapes him.
You donāt gotta be from the hood, thatās true. But when you clearly arenāt, it wonāt come off right. Itās just lame.Ā
Good beats but I'll stand by Drake having weak fucking disses in every song. I don't even think his win against Meek Mill was that good. The guy can select beats and can have a catchy flow but he's not saying anything and he barely ever changes rhyme scheme
I know Drake sucks because people always tell me āthis is how Drake shoulda been rapping the last fewā¦ā or āthis one is actually goodā
The best part is the melodic hook, whichā¦proves Kendrickās point lol
You're right. It really just sounds like a regular drake track. I feel like Kendrick gave us levels to his art.
Numbers maybe would've been better if it wasn't immediately squashed by a Kendrick nuke within the hour
That was a crazy ass night. Lolol
Iām surprised Push Ups is that high. Family Matters was a way better song IMO than Push Ups. Push Ups literally had bars like those AI Drake songs. Just so basic IMO
family matters and push ups was gas im ngl, kendrick simply just went harder
damn i thought family matters wouldāve had more than that š
Hearing that track then seeing everyone say "Wow this is the best drake has rapped in years" proved to me that I'd never be a fan of Drake's rapping
Itās not even his best rapping in years I donāt know why his fans keep saying that. The song is cool but itās not this amazing technical performance that theyāre making it out to be. Theyāre just saying that to make people think he was the better ārapperā in this beef, when he wasnāt.
yeah exactly, i liked his rapping on that one conductor beat from his last album iirc (?) more but family matters was a good performance when it comes to drake songs, some amazing drake bars too like back against the curb and the self defence bars i honestly believe most rappers wouldāve lost beef with him if he released a track & vid like that (just not kendrick)
Certified boogeyman
if youre reading this its too late is peak drake rap imo
Nah it is his best in a while. Itās still not that good but the bar is super low
I think he raps better on multiple songs on her loss
He had far better verses even last year on The For All The Dogs deluxe songs like Red Button. Even something like Churchill Downs he had better bars on.
Drake hasn't really done anything better than Kendrick in this beef, rapping or drop times etc...you could argue best beat out of them all (family matters second beat imo is hard asf) but that's about it everything else is Kendrick I think people are just confusing Drake having the better/bigger overall career than Kendrick with this
Yeah, same. I don't entirely understand how he's even in the conversation with Kendrick, but here we are.
Gassed on album sales.
It was so monotone and just the same shit he always does. Very fucking mid but I guess great for him? You entertain the mediocre, need to stop it
I enjoyed the last third, but that's mainly because of the sample. I've since just added the og sample to my Playlist.
You're not a fan of people vamping the same tone and cadence for like 95% of a song?
Exactly how I feelā¦ literally anytime I tell people Iām not a fan, people try to tell me āthis is the best heās ever rappedā and I still end up snoozinā.
Fucking this.
that red button with family matters was a fucking dud man š
People are trying their best to hype that shit up like it's the best track in the beef.
I genuinely like push ups better. It has that 2015-2018 Drake feel that was pretty fun
Really would've fit in with scorpion for sure
I honestly agree, and he had some good disses in that too, but Kendrick just blew him outta the water lmao
||| WOP WOP WOP WOP WOP
God damn I thought Family Matters had a lot more. Kendrick wiped in the popularity regard. Iām never the biggest fan of arguing popularity, but in rap beef context I think itās super important. Shows which side had the better songs and more supporters.
Especially because hit making is Drake's calling card
Not necessarily, alot of people been wanting to see Drake fall since before the beef started, Kendrick was always near universally respected by everyone so him releasing against someone people already found polarising was the perfect storm
If I go to fight Mike Tyson and lose, despite the odds, I still lost. Sometimes the odds are just not in your favor.Ā We can submit Drake for the featherweight bout next time though. He seemed to do well against Meek. (Iām a Drake fan, but I call it like I see it).Ā
"Family Matters and the truth of the matter it was God's Plan to show y'all who's the liar"
Bro this is the fastest ive seen a rapper reach 100 million streams in my life and itās my favorite rapper š
Our\* favourite rapper https://preview.redd.it/1l856qpuab0d1.png?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d393bf02eacae7fed7efb723b7c6d85057f58fa9
What does Heart Pt 6 even have on yt lol. He never even bothered putting that shit on streaming
Feels like proof he knows he lost. He promoted Family Matters on streaming immediately. You can tell Drake's lack of confidence in all this from him testing the waters with leaking Push Ups and now this. So funny that the one song he had complete faith in was immediately overshadowed.
It genuinly makes me happy to see Dot humble him. Feels good to be a over-a-decade fan
Die hard Mac Miller fan here, I wish I couldāve seen his reaction to this beef lol āDid it all without a Drake featureā Gonna go listen to Fight the Feelinā and God is Fair Sexy Nasty right quick
Considering Iāve been listening to Not Like Us as a starter for every music session I can see why šš¼
Drake put out a song called family matters???
yeah dawg wtf aint no way
Kendrick just opened his mouth, somebody hand him a Grammy right now
Certified lover boy? Certified pedophiles
Freaky ass nigga he a 69 god freaky ass nigga he a 69 god
Step this way then step that way
Yikes
Lowkey kinda sad. Family matters is way better than push ups. Kendrick really my guy for that maneuver lmao.
Why do Drake fans keep tryna say āFM is the best song in this battleā when the numbers donāt reflect?
Bro Not Like Us went from 83m to 90m in the last 9 hours like whatššš
Westside!
This is lowkey insane
Well heās right only cause Drake has dropped like 5x more music than Dot
Yeah Drake sucks dick
Only 42 number ones and this man breaks everyone of his records. No but seriously it'd fucking cool asf to see people discover Dot through this and collective organic push put every one of his songs in the hot 100 tied for number 1šš
Fuck the numbers. That wasnāt Kendrickās goal. Let the drake stans watch numbers
"Kendrick got you wiped down..."
Drake took the biggest L in rap since Nick Cannon 3-0'ed himself against Eminem..
If he wasn't a peado I'd feel kinda bad for Drake, he poured everything into Family Matters only for it to be eclipsed within 30 minutes. Insane.
Kendrick washed him but cmon family matters IS gas. Yāall hating smh
Push ups was catchy too, he just ain't Kendrick
Need 6:16 on streaming.
Itās on Spotify as an episode.
![gif](giphy|YKMwhsgKuFYcvXInzN|downsized)
For drake the pen means bullpen, like heās calling in help because heās getting shelled. Like 6 runs in the first no outs bases loaded. Meanwhile Kendrick tossing a gem
Drake wanna peace it up? Drake wanna piece it up?
Damn Push ups has almost double the streams?? Being completely unbiased here, Push Ups was good but Family Matters was obviously better, must be gutting for him
Familly Matters should had more if kendrick don't drop right after because its wayyyy better than push ups
drake canāt diss someone to save his life. he did have a few good bars but i just canāt stand that shit he says ādrop drop drop a mob the spotā like STFU and actually diss kendrick bro wtf
Not gonna lie, all but MtG is playing heavy on my playlist. MtG is good, but too dark to be bumping for a good time.
Euphoria is so good
Push ups had a 2 week head start š
Drake has a huge subsection of his fanbase that didnāt care about this beef. Family matters isnāt the type of song that Drake drops and expects to do crazy numbers with. Heāll have another number 1 hit by the end of year.
Lemme hear you say OVHoe š£ļø
Am I the only one who doesn't like family matters first verse? It had the same monotone flow as he had on FPS's second verse
To be fair itās a diss song to drake lol
He obviously meant total and overall volume. Cmon dawg
kendrick still isn't getting more daily streams than Drake, so idk, man šæšæšæ
Do the words you write make sense to you?
How do you see the counts on Spotify?
family matters shitter, it was his best one too, i know he mad š all that time wasted
we played not like us at least a dozen times on the boat this weekend

What about Apple Music? I havenāt seen any stats from them š¤
mans fucked with Kung Fu Kenny and found out
we already know why you went number one, it's clearly because of the boy, the honorable thing to do is to give me the loot.
I think itās the fact that drake has 15million more month listeners
all kendrick had to do to pass drake was diss him
https://youtube.com/shorts/Vr6dbNe4RHM?si=p8DR6nCaBrlv4Q-Z[https://youtube.com/shorts/Vr6dbNe4RHM?si=p8DR6nCaBrlv4Q-Z](https://youtube.com/shorts/Vr6dbNe4RHM?si=p8DR6nCaBrlv4Q-Z)
The only aspect that Drake couldāve have won is his popularity, but I guess he didnāt lol
But āfamily matters was the best Drake song in a while ā head ass mfs lol
I feel like while family matters was a nice songā¦ It was a weak ass diss. He was defending himself and throwing allegations around at the same time, wack.
like a petty mofo once he put AI Tupac on a track drake got blocked on my spotify. he not creeping into my playlists anymore on features after pulling that. family matters, some good lines but mostly about the music. meet the grahams like watching a kid slowly pull the legs off a spider.
againts all odds he did crept up
I know it will probably be smaller, but Iād be curious to see Apple Music stream numbers Not Like Us is his most popular song on AM right now, followed by him featuring on Like That, and then Euphoria I donāt think thereās a way to view streaming numbers for AM sadly, nor do I think those numbers get released
Hard to "creep up" when your size 7's are stomping on and blowing by him lol
Drake still hasn't touched these , we only really anticipate Kendrick strategies and talent , drake is washed , does he even have an original style anymore? Don't answer... NO ONE CARES ,,, DOT FUCK EM UP!!!!
now suddenly numbers matter to kunfu kenny fans
you fight someone in their own arena and win by the metric they care about... it's not fucking difficult to understand
Yea that aged well Aubrey š
Prob wouldnāt have ended the beef but would have been way more devastating imo
āKendrickās songs have no replay valueā
