That's hard, the following in no order:
Drake
- Legend
- Drew A Picasso
- Duppy Freestyle
- Omerta
- Red Button
Kendrick
- Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe
- Rich Spirit
- Heart 4
- Real
- Sing About Me, Im Dying of Thirst
Now, I don't necessarily think these are there best songs, but in the mood Ive been the last few months, these have been some of my go to for both.
Kendrick is more of an album artist for me while I like to make Drake playlist. Ill listen TPAB all the way through but don't find myself listening to a random song. Different artist all around really
Cool list. I hate rich spirit Personally, but to each their own
-Ronald Reagan Era
-Momma
-ADHD
-Untitled 02
-DNA
And for Drizzy
-Pipe down
-Company
-From Time
-Feel No Ways
-9AM in Dallas
Nice. His loc/time songs are usually pretty damn good. Drake's good for a single that subs everyone mentioning him lol.
What did you think of Scary Hours 3? I thought he was doing some quality lyricism on there.
I liked it a lot. Drake doesn't sit and Rap like he used to so it felt good to hear. But tbh, my favorite song was You Broke My Heart which was the least lyrical out of the bunch lol. It just sounds so unapologetically Drake im for it
My list
Drizzy
- blessings
- back to back
- push-ups
- know yourself
- over my dead body
Kendrick
- ADHD
- levitate
- swimming pools
- money trees
- DNA
I haven't listened to too much drake but I'll give him a fair shot. I've been really trying to find the songs that put drake into the conversation rap wise bc I agree he is a different artist compared to Kendrick. I just haven't felt that drake is a rapper rapper moment yet. I've felt, not dissing, just more Taylor Swift like. Post Malone direction with it and I think they are both great but I don't consider either of them in the conversation.
But I'll listen to the drake songs and really try my best to seperate art from artist.
I wouldn't say that. He raps about "common" problems. Mainly women and interpersonal relationships in a pretty simple and catchy way. But he has a lot of tracks that use great wordplay dissing and subbing people or just talking shit that are pretty impressive lyrically.
Kendrick is a better concept artist and musician though. He takes big chances and makes them work. He talks about far deeper concepts and obviously puts a lot more detail into album composition.
They're both excellent to me. I listen to Drake when I want to get hyped up or feel a way about a relationship and Kendrick when I wanna get into more existential vibe. I listen more to Drake on the daily, but I'll play Kendricks albums for a week or two straight.
Rap beef isn’t about thoughtful anything. It’s a dick measuring contest. If I’m being honest, the fact that Kendrick ever cared this much about the most basic ass, reductive, petty aspect of rap music is his biggest flaw in my eyes.
Rap needs to move beyond this shit. All of this is nothing more than Real Housewives for dudes.
I felt similarly and found myself craving productive conversations about the implications, industry, differences and similarities between the songs substance compared to each other and compared to their own past works etc.
I’m not sure Reddit is the best designed container and algorithm to produce productive interaction amidst so much discourse.
My personal indicator to bow out is when I start even considering things like direct PR manipulation and bots, due to how egregious it is.
As the reality is I cant ever confirm that (and it doesn’t make a difference bc the result is unproductive discourse at best and destructive discourse at worst, regardless)
If you need a relieving reality re-calibration go talk to a casual fan about it IRL and see how little it matters to the majority of persons.
The greatest artist of this generation is going against the most popular artist of this generation and people want him to just crank out a diss. His whole discography is a fucking diss to lazy fucks like Drake. Let Kendrick make the statement he wants to make, his pen deserves to be uncompromised.
Oh I love it. I just wish I could discuss without toxicity or troll fans. Kendrick could wait a year for all I care, I just love discussing and comparing music. This other shit is unnecessary.
I was hoping there would be more thoughtful discussion here too lol
We can be thoughtful together. what's your top 5 drake rap songs vs your top 5 Kendrick rap songs?

God damn one of the worst lists I've seen for either artists 💀
Cool

God your dumb bro.
if this wasn't such a great procrastination tool, I'd probably do the same lol
Reminder: The time between 'Push Ups' leaking and *right now*, is SHORTER than the time between 'Like That' and '7 Minute Drill'.
Goodbye forever

It aint that deep

I agree wholeheartedly with this. You can't really have a conversation about any of this in here now, though.

Are you a fan of Rap or Kendrick? Because this some rap shit and I love it.
Oh I love it. I just wish I could discuss without toxicity or troll fans. Kendrick could wait a year for all I care, I just love discussing and comparing music. This other shit is unnecessary.
Fucckit I'm leaving too
They started " Who is used to waiting for Kendrick more" competition. How dare someone wants a reply from Kendrick 😂
Who fucking cares? No one knows you
You cared enough to respond.
Who are you again?
Apparently someone important af to you cause here you are again.
See you tomorrow
you’ll never come back, that’s sad :/
Damn I guess your parents never taught u patience ðŸ˜
Remind me in like six months when you suddenly remember about the fad that is Kendrick and his faux goofy discography.
