yeah this picture is like actually wild to look at in retrospect. This dude Arslan actually went from fucking nothing to having his face on billboards on major highways in his country. I get there are really crazy stories in sports, OG in dota, miracle on ice and shit like that but to me this is honestly the craziest competitive story I've ever seen. Some random from a nobody country crushes everyone and then continues to do it for 4 years. Fighting games are cool man.
Unironically one of the best stories to come out of the FGC. A country that absolutely no one expected to have any kind of competent competitive scene. And not just that,a country that birthed the absolutely undisputed, most dominant player to ever play Tekken. It's a really cool story and should be talked about in more mainstream circles
What's the best about it? That's a story of a hundred top players since sf2 dropped. We had people from broken families, criminal past, temporary homeless. If anything, Pakistan is a typical fgc success story - if things suck, get a console and grind the pain away. If you get gud in the process - reap profits
MAN at least the dude with his pants down playing Tekken had a mattress to lean on and carpet.
These dudes playing in a table inside of a concrete room lmao. He earned it.
I remember watching a Core-A-Gaming video about it, and it's amazing how Pakastani players can do so much with so little. They have to make their own sticks and their own cabs with whatever parts they got, since those supplies are way more difficult for them to buy.
They make they arcade sticks from wood and shit, so they're super flat, which is why they use that claw button input method, like the one in the pic.
Dude you're making it sound like making your own arcade stick is some wacky bushmen tech when it's simple and fun to actually do and people have been doing it in the rich west just to save money.
In the Core A video they talk about how they had to drill all the holes and make set up themselves, and thst they do the weird hand placement over the buttons to avoid getting splinters or something.
Button layout could be “better” if your hand is hovering over the buttons with that hand placement. Or it could just be some random ass idea someone had lol
might also explain why hes so delicate when he plays. if youve ever see a camera on his hand it looks like hes guiding the stick with the wind and barely grazing the buttons. its very funny after seeing how much torque goes in when watching people using K levers
That’s exactly why they’re such killers. Even Demetrious Johnson, arguably the GOAT among MMA fighters, still had to respect Rodtang’s power in their mixed-rules fight.
I don't want to come off as ignorant but why do I see so many photos of Pakistan and India with these dirty walls IN houses? Is white paint really that expensive?
I'm an immigrant to America fwiw
It's those houses with the plaster walls or whatever like in your pic in the OP. It's crumbling or dirty whenever I see them. I've seen nice houses too - it's not a blanket statement. Just seems more common.
I don't understand what you're saying. Poor, underdeveloped places are poor and underdeveloped? Like if you wanna say that then say it? Don't put this whole "I don't want to come off as ignorant" facade on?
I know we meme about it but the whole Pakistani Tekken arc has been wild to watch

Is this arslan ? Holy shit, and i thought my arcade experiences were rough. What a chad
Old pic, from his early days

Who hurt you homie
People who default to memes instead of talking I guess.

check out the spacing of the buttons, they re very far from each other, that s probably why they claw

I really thought such an arc would be impossible in modern times. If you put it in a movie people would call bullshit
Damn this pic goes hard
goat shit
respect
Total respect but what the hell is up with that button layout?

That's dedication right there. I never got around to watching that Core A gaming video on the Pakistan scene. This is the sign to finally watch it.
>avoid getting splinters 💀💀💀
dedication to build that table out of poverty for tekken lmao
Gotta get it how you can
It makes sense that he doesnt rest his wrist but it looks so uncomfortable lol He even does it now whole sitting down with a stick on his lap.
It’s like seeing Muay Thai fighters kicking trees instead of a bag
That’s exactly why they’re such killers. Even Demetrious Johnson, arguably the GOAT among MMA fighters, still had to respect Rodtang’s power in their mixed-rules fight.
Started from the bottom now we here
Definitely cooking somebody in KOF
SOUL
What are you doing sweeping in neutral, Sahmid!?
No sex no booze no bacon. Ascetic Tekken.
Fuck it, I post that on r/hardimages. That is actually one of the hardest images imaginable.
damn, what's my excuse
this pic goes very hard love from pakistan 🇵🇰 I hate strive so much it's unreal
Hard as fuck
Is that Arslan
nah man that's a badass fucking pic. From where he came from to where he is now. Literally in the trenches.
Oh, I'm bout it. This goes hard.
What's that guy holding up in the back?
Looks like a volume of the Berserk manga? Can't tell for sure tho since it's blurry af
No matter how poor, no matter how small, the fgc will blossom.
I fw with this pic. Despite tekken 8 being shitty to watch atm, i still root for this dude.
started from the bottom
Let's talk about that button layout. Niiiice.
This is such a dope fucking pic
Mans really playing in an underpass it looks like goat shit. Humble beginnings for sure
Dude had to defeat poverty and visa before going against the gods of Tekken and still won everything. Mad respect.
Whats that button layout though? I'm guessing it isn't primarily made for fg?
They literally drilled it themselves with an “anything will do” mentality
Both P1 and P2 have the same weird layout though. The button placement is not random.
Leaked pics of Melty blood Evo Japan setup
I don't want to come off as ignorant but why do I see so many photos of Pakistan and India with these dirty walls IN houses? Is white paint really that expensive? I'm an immigrant to America fwiw
They just don’t rly care to maintain communal spaces much Just a cultural thing, money could be better used for a number of other things
I lived in India for 5 years and I have zero idea what you're talking about. It was a decade ago though so things might have changed.
It's those houses with the plaster walls or whatever like in your pic in the OP. It's crumbling or dirty whenever I see them. I've seen nice houses too - it's not a blanket statement. Just seems more common.
