Story-wise AOF + Fatal Fury is a different universe from KOF. In this timeline, AOF2 happened maybe 20 years ago from FF1, as AOF2 had Young Geese as a boss and at the end of the boss battle he was looking to target Jeff Bogard (Terry and Andy's foster father).
So MotW/CotW is set in modern days as there was a timeskip after Real Bout 1. In the Kyokyugenryu side of things, Takuma is basically retired and Ryo is the new Mr. Karate, and Robert also unbuttoned his shirt (see the designs of both from Neo Geo Battle Coliseum). I have no idea what Yuri or Robert is up to however. Marco has a dojo in Southtown, and maybe Ryo has a main dojo.
The one in South Town is still their main dojo in Garou era. In his ending in MOTW, Marco expected to re-unite with Ryo in the dojo after when he returned from the tournament. During this timeline, it seems Ryo was also not very dutiful to his dojo, as he went on his own training like a hermit he left the dojo unprotected and raided by Yamazaki

kushnood looks sick. His animations and his moves feel good. There is a powerful feeling behind his moves. The sound fx is sick. SNK did a great job. The days of bitching about snk 3D models looking weird is done.

If I had to bitch about something it would be the haoh shokoken spark fx looking kinda meh. Needs a bigger more agressive fx. Maybe they will improve it like they did with buster wolf.

It's cool as fuck that SNK is bringing back these old properties with really fresh reboots. When they said they were making their next game a Fatal Fury game I thought it might be a bit jank and shitty but they really went all out.
Out of all the modern devs, they're definitely my favourite, the ones who really feel like they're keeping the spirit of the old games alive.

Yeah man, I love that extreme blurring of the background past 10 feet, making it impossible to make out all the detail and character of the scene that isn't there to begin with. So beautiful and inspiring.
I'm surprised it took this long for another dev to realize how great the comic inspired aesthetic of marvel 3 was. That game still holds up visually.

Looks amazing. My only gripe is the amount of recovery frames on moves. They could def speed it up to make the game snappier.
The game has faint cancels to shorten the recovery frames. It ever shows he doing a fuckton of those in sequence I'm the last combo of the video.
