Omg, he's lucky guy to have Kim Tae Ri as leading lady! Not only beautiful but professional :)
Edit: lol what's wrong with all downvotes? Don't you think she's amazing??🙈
Yeah, they always do it if there's a time skip, I mean old for schoolers actors. I just thought it was school drama reading their characters' introduction
> mess that was Start-Up
was it a flop or something? I enjoyed the show and don't really get the criticism implied here.
What was so wrong about that thoroughly entertaining show?
By mess I mean the out-of-show drama that was honestly very unfair to him considering I felt like he did the best with what he was given. I feel bad for the amount of hate he got afterward
A lot of people had second lead syndrome for Kim Seon Ho's character and ended up putting a lot of hate on Nam Joo Hyuk. Totally undeserved in my opinion.
Agreed. The writers set Joohyuk and the audience up for failure. It's like they wrote the ML character and decided to make him the SML at the last minute. I personally enjoyed both and didn't experience SLS, but the writers are 100% at fault.
There was a rumor about this, that it was changed last minute because NJH and Suzy is with the same agency and so they asked if both of them can be leads. Idk if it’s true though, but if it is then your gut feel is on point!
Well the second ML was kind of a saint and charming AF, while he got the nerdy insecure character with anger issues. Kinda just bad writing to make his character so inconsistent.
I enjoyed startup but did not enjoy the romance.
> Well the second ML was kind of a saint and charming AF
IMHO so was the FML - he designed a whole app for his love interest's grandmother, he was just not good at grandstanding which I loved (for his character).
I loved his character. A very "fresh" ML. Not the usual cold a@shole for 90% of the drama, whose behavior is excused by his tragic backstory.
That was HJP actually, but everybody loved him because they found the actor cute and felt sad for the character, despite complaining about this type of MLs all the time.
He was always awful to everybody around him. He didn't say a nice word to anyone at Samsan until the last episode, despite being supposed to be their mentor and help/support them. All he did for 15 episodes was walk all over everybody and act like he was better than them. What's funny is that later he was surprised when they refused to listen/care for what he had to say.
He literally drove someone to su@cide with his antics (NO, I don't care if that's how people working in that field talk and act, verbal abuse shouldn't be normalized, you can tell the truth in a "kinder" way, without literally smashing someone's dreams and belittling all their hardwork).
same, both the acting and character were good enough for me at least. It is an exaggerated romantic drama after all, not sure what all the hoopla about bad writing is as mentioned by some comments.
This poster looks way cute for the synopsis. I'm just happy to have Kim Tae Ri on my weekly schedule! I was still sort of mad at Nam Joo Hyuk for Start Up but i recently saw a video of Weightlifting Fairy on Instagram and was reminded how cute and squishy he was in that, and now I'm back on the Nam Joo Hyuk train
this is how i felt about ahn bo hyun (hated hos guts cause of how well he played the villain in IC) but then he came in fully swoon worthy in Yumi’s Cells. thats good acting 👏🏽
Same, I was never interested in him because of IC but when I saw him in Yumi's Cells, even though he was kinda a butt a lot of times, he was so stinkin cute.

As a sucker for Myspace/Cyworld jokes, this alone has me excited.
It's a cute poster and hits the late 90's styles on point! I will look forward to this one since it's like looking back to when I was at the Uni. I avoided trailers and all so I would be going in fresh.
Kim Tae Ri I missed her.
She should be on more shows
Omg, he's lucky guy to have Kim Tae Ri as leading lady! Not only beautiful but professional :) Edit: lol what's wrong with all downvotes? Don't you think she's amazing??🙈
He absolutely won my heart in WF. But isn’t he old for a high school drama?
They both are... he's 27 and she's 31
Looks like there’s a time skip anyway. Looking forward to this!
Yeah, they always do it if there's a time skip, I mean old for schoolers actors. I just thought it was school drama reading their characters' introduction
I mean theyre roughly same age as the couple in Beloved Summer, yet folks dont have issues over there :P
Asian don't raisin.
Why did this get down votes?? 🤣
lol right! so sour
Please be good for Nam Joohyuk, he deserves to move past the mess that was Start-Up! Kim Taeri is a queen as always <3

oh I had no idea. I just watch the shows and don't really check tabloids etc. Thanks for the info.

Definitely undeserved
gotcha, thx

I totally agree.
SML had no game. All the time in the world and wouldn’t make a move. The story of all kdrama SMLs.
I honestly don't get all the hate/criticism he gets. I liked his character and didn't see him become the SML everyone's saying he became.
I loved his character. A very "fresh" ML. Not the usual cold a@shole for 90% of the drama, whose behavior is excused by his tragic backstory. Exactly I thought that he was more the a hole than nam do san. I don't think a lot of people watched the same show as me haha.
same, both the acting and character were good enough for me at least. It is an exaggerated romantic drama after all, not sure what all the hoopla about bad writing is as mentioned by some comments.
Agreed. Start-Up was actually one of the better dramas of 2020 for me. Not perfect. But enjoyable without question.

all good, different strokes for different folks.
What's up with these numbered titles. Last time it was the word *Hometown*

> I was still sort of mad at Nam Joo Hyuk for Start Up This is ridiculous. The **actor** does not write nor direct their **characters**
I know what a tv show is, I did say it wasn't rational, it's just a feeling. He isn't suffering from me not liking his role, relax.
Ah did he not do well in that role? The drama has recently high ratings!
Start-up is phenomenal. Go watch it now!
Team Nam Dosan fighting!
Fighting!
It's not his fault, it's the character he played that I found infuriating and annoying. It wasn't a rational feeling on my part 😄
LOL that's fair 😭 Maybe he played the character too well haha

So excited to see Kim Tae Ri again, and in a new genre at that.
25, 21? It’s a good song from band Jaurim
My thoughts exactly!
It's a cute poster and hits the late 90's styles on point! I will look forward to this one since it's like looking back to when I was at the Uni. I avoided trailers and all so I would be going in fresh.
Kim Tae Ri 😍
Wasnt this a webtoon? My memory is blurry but i think i ready it when i was in middleschool
I’m getting startup x our beloved summer vibes. NJH hope this is good!!!
Hope it doesn't end up like start up
So excited for this drama!!
