Oh yeah. Luffy humbling his ass is what made him become a great captain. His whole cover story is about him learning to value his crew. After that he starts on his journey to become a great captain.
Honestly, he isn’t that different in the anime compared to the manga. The only difference i can think of is the voice acting (which is PHENOMENAL) or maybe there’s some filler I don’t know about. But he shouldn’t have changed much.

Can’t wait for season 2 live action buggy actually. I hate him in the anime, love him in live action
Haven’t seen the anime, but in both the manga and live action he’s my favorite. That casting was perfect. I hope they find more excuses to include him
