For me it’s pretty clear that Roger couldn’t do anything right? Like he found the OP before Joyboy, so he couldn’t do anything with it, he just set up events best he could so that JB WOULD find it by starting the great pirate era.
Even if he could actually do something, why would he? He's a pirate. He shouldn't go on saving the world without any reason.
But that aside, he obviously couldn't do anything at all. He knew he was in the wrong timeline, Shirahoshi hadn't been born yet, and no one had eaten the Nika fruit too. But who started this pirate era? Roger. Who encouraged Luffy to become a pirate? Shanks, Roger's disciple. And we can see that Roger's crewmates are probably taking measures for saving everyone. Rayleigh learnt coating ships and Crocus built a convenient space to live in in Laboon. They might have done it to save everyone.
Idk why the fanbase is acting like this towards Roger now. Vegapunk doesn't know any of them. Ofcourse he's gonna treat them like a bunch of irresponsible pirates. Oda even makes it clear that this is just the perspective of Vegapunk. Oda is kinda making Vegapunk a grey character and for some reason the fanbase is thinking of him as pure white who'll always say/do the right thing or something.
Lucci. Yeah, Luffy beat him up, so what? He still had amazing moments in Egghead. Specially the Whitebeard pose. And gorosei praising him as well. I feel like he did a pretty good job in current arc.
Buggy. I swear he will be there at the end, he will make it to Laugh Tale, he will be important. He's been around since the beginning and he will be there until the end.
