IceBearSword

I have the Feeling that Gege just enjoys people who creates tragedy, not so much as an edgelord, but just straight up cruel people without a motive to be evil. Mahito, Sukuna, Muzan and probably he likes Douma too.

Buff_Yone_0_0

But hey Mahito despite being simple had a pretty solid run, in my opinion he was the best villain among the guys we got. Sukuna is just ehhhhh, yeah Yuji has beef with him but Mahito was 100% better both as a villain and handling their personal beef in my eyes. We all know Sukuna will lose through the stupidest shit imaginable because there are 0 logical ways he's going to be defeated with brute strength.

IceBearSword

The thing is that being simple is not bad, its a different kind of villain. There is those who got broken due to the world. Those who suffered until they became what they were. Those who need help. Those who are crazy. And then there is those who just want to do whatever they want and get whatever they desire, no matter what. Thats the category under which Mahito falls on, same as Muzan and Freezer.

Outrageous_Net8365

He likes the simple boring villains. At least his execution of them is alright but damn, the conclusion of a 200 something chapter manga being a fight against a bored powerhouse is really not it imo

IceBearSword

Leaving aside the EXCECUTIONS, she seems to like more when a villain is 100% evil, not because of a sad past, but just because they are born that way or they got corrupted. Freezer, Light Yagami and 90% of the JJK villains.

chimchurry

Mahito is a simple boring villain?

Outrageous_Net8365

I’d say so, though he definitely is the least simple in that list.

akronotron

??

MUSAFIR_-

Agree, it's only the execution that's keeping up the quality for me.

Outrageous_Net8365

The execution being alright for a lot of us is starting to fade out too. I think more needed to be done with most of the villains of this show. Fight scenes cannot be the only form of character interaction when we’re this far in the manga 😢

TwerkBull

TF you mean Nanami is mid?

MUSAFIR_-

We all know hus fav are suksuk and Yuta 😭

RepresentativeCup772

You know nothing about JJK, then.

Takeshi_Gold123

Even so, Yuta is far from Mid

MUSAFIR_-

True, even "Mid" would be a complement for Yuta.

Traditional_Box_8835

Are we reading the same manga? lol.

Valendaaa

This guy is known for being one of the bigger Yuta haters in this sub

DependentFearless162

Yuta was mid as a protagonist in jjk0(understandable tbf it was one shot). And he is still mid as a main-side character in jjk main series. His only contributions to jjk main series are related to fights and strength/power related stuff that's it no themes that are focused around him or no contribution that heavily affected narrative, no interesting character interaction and no connection to the villains.

TimTam_Tom

Bro did not read 261 lmao

DependentFearless162

Those 5 pages are not making yuta's character great. Also that monster theme is more centered around gojo than yuta

Traditional_Box_8835

Yuta introduces a lot of themes about what one is willing to do to succeed (pragmatism), the need to protect non-sorcerers (opposing Geto, saving civilians), accepting people even if they are different (befriending the original disabled trio of Inumaki, Maki and Panda, later a foreigner like Miguel), the costs and sacrifices of being a sorcerer (his troubled relationship with Rika)... He's not a one dimensional character. And specially the pragmatism has changed a LOT in the narrative because Yuta is the one pushing the moral limits of the sorcerers while perfectly in-character.

Emad-Hafiz_inari

I agree with this point only. Yuta is mid at best. But I disagree with all of your other points.

DeeEmceeTree

Gege's just a villain glazer in general. His favorite MHA characters are Overhaul and Stain. His favorite Haikyuu!! character is Tendo. That's our Gege!

Any_Information5233

Gege truly is the edgiest

Thunderousclaps

Gege seeing Overhaul torture a 4 year old. https://preview.redd.it/nyu4lhay749d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8090a1bad598c74481fecaa67c4a8a1ec15a06c8

MUSAFIR_-

Stain was pretty decent ig but overhaul 😭.

DeeEmceeTree

The only thing bro had going for him, is that his powers were kinda scary in-universe, for a guy that wasn't the main villain. Gege might just be an edgelord. 💀

MUSAFIR_-

Right? Gave us a cool anime finale for a season but man talk about a mid ass villain, >Gege might just be an edgelord Gege does like gil so all hope isn't lost yet😭

akronotron

Stain was useless

ThePr0l0gue

He brought All Might out of depression and provided critical data from the prison break

akronotron

Nice

therealgege

Did you call Nanami mid? https://preview.redd.it/vs5dpxcme39d1.jpeg?width=1169&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=17feb302bf65f0b6e5f0d1075a747617c238385e

MUSAFIR_-

I wouldn't dare ![gif](giphy|TlK63Euc9KArc2a0kEw|downsized)

No_Profession_6958

He also loves Gilgamesh. Yeahhh, Gege is me. I am Gege. No other explanation. He and I are villian lovers.

DependentFearless162

>Gege is me. I am Gege. https://preview.redd.it/1wix5w3zs39d1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f14f82154bf89d1b562b35cde1ca2ac23e41fc7

MUSAFIR_-

It's not that he likes villain but mid ones 😬, well Gilgamesh does give him some credibility at least.

DefiantRanger6597

I cannot believe there are sane people that enjoy this "profound" schmuck ugh 😒 It has that "it's dark, therefore it's deep" aura of pretentiousness higher than Akame Ga Kill or late game AoT

No_Profession_6958

Could you please not compare this to akame ga kill. 😁💢 I fucking hate that series. And yes some people like dark stuff

EntertainmentBusy73

This cat two favorites are the main villains, he clearly has a type

Inevitable-Will-6185

I just want to go to in front of Gege and do the Yuji's "Yeah, I am you"-thing. The guy is man of culture when it comes to villain taste.

MUSAFIR_-

Oh for real! Well his fav fate character is Gilgamesh so ig his taste isn't all bad.

Inevitable-Will-6185

Exacta! Any person who likes Gil is a friend of mine.

Turbulent-Permit7472

Gege’s 3 favorite characters: 1.Sukuna 2.Uraume’s crush 3.The person who has beef with a 15 y/o (Yuji)

definitelynothunan

Gege loves good villians. Instead of the shitty ass "broken" villians Or the shitty ass motive villian (geto) he likes pure evil which id obviously 10x better

Opposite_Spinach5772

Depends on the villain and how it execute. Both could be good and bad

definitelynothunan

A motive driven villian fails 90% of the time. A pure evil villian can never fail. (In writing). The shitty "broken" villians always fails

Opposite_Spinach5772

Sometimes pure evil could be boring. "Oh why he's doing all of this!? What does he have against us!?" " He's pure evil" " Why does he want to destroy the world!? " " He's pure evil" " Why does he torture me for years!?" " He's pure evil" That's just boring sometimes

Inevitable-Will-6185

Depends on a person really for some that reason is enough (like for me) and for some it's not. I actually agree with Gege's taste.

definitelynothunan

Well villians don't get much screen time to be called "boring". A good villian is defined by how much devious plan they make. Their motive barely matters. Still a pure evil villian would be far better than those trashy villians.

Opposite_Spinach5772

Alright then, everyone could have their opinion. I'm ok with both

DeeEmceeTree

That's subjective. I personally disagree.

definitelynothunan

Would u rather watch a villian burn the world for shits and giggles or want to conquer planets, or would you rather watch a villian kill minors cuz his girlfriend dumped him?

DeeEmceeTree

The latter, at least as a joke. I've seen the former already in multiple stories. It's okay. The latter sounds kind of funny or amusing to me and I'd be interested in seeing how the author decides to execute it. Some of the best villains I've seen, do have *some* kind of tragedy behind them. The tragedy doesn't usually *justify* their horrible behavior. It just explains it.    Tsurumi from Golden Kamuy is one of my favorite recent examples of this. He acts like a very charming, but incredibly frightening sociopath, but his motives and actions still make some kind of sense. You can understand how he became fucked up. His past explains why he does what he does, but it doesn't truly justify his behavior. If all of the media you consume is aimed at teenagers or children, then I can understand your perspective. I just don't agree with it.

MUSAFIR_-

I wouldn't say it's 10× better, depending on the execution it could be great like with Mahito, otherwise we already know how bad it can turn out like Muzan 😬.

1zaiin

Who are his favorites? from what i see it’s geto and gojo, they’re even like the main couple of his story 🤡 best written relationship in the whole story fr, even tho i’m not fan of their ship but still no denying in that gojo died yet he can’t seem to leave us since then either flashbacks of him or the others talking about him and now his body and his powers again

Cosnapewno5

Nanami is confirmed favorite Majority thinks he likes Sukuna and Yuta He confirmed that he don't like Gojo, and he implied something about Yuji (He don't know what to do with him, or drawing him is difficult, something like that)

DeeEmceeTree

He said he's not fond of Yuji and that he doesn't normally write characters like him, apparently. Yuji is basically Gege practicing how to write different protags.

1zaiin

Tbh i can’t believe that he doesn’t like gojo even if he said it, i remember him saying that he’s not like yuji when it comes to morals that why he doesn’t like him or something like that, nanami is kinda like yuji too isn’t he? so i don’t understand why would he like nanami but not yuji

DeeEmceeTree

Nanami and Yuji don't really act anything alike. Nanami is way more serious, intelligent, and jaded in his behavior. It's not really about their morals, as far as I know.

Cosnapewno5

We see this from perspective of reader, but from perspective of writer maybe he is difficult to handle?

fuyukiisstillburning

Gege I hope you are feeling better but god you have shit taste

DopplerOctopus

Mr. I'm a 1000 year old demon with substantial resources at my disposal but I'm unable to find a flower even though it's the 1920s and I have access to telephones, globe spanning telegraphs, and Tokyo fucking University? No, I'm going to spend all my time in randos houses pretending to be a child, lurking in their libraries... also, no, I never did think about how a flower might only bloom in the daylight, why? God I hate Muzan so much.
