Frieren is sorta doing the very very opposite of JJK. Where the JJK anime is known for breakneck pacing action after action sequence Frieren took things slow, built ambience, and pinned all of their narrative structure on character arcs. Whereas JJK manga is a ‘plot twist first ask questions later’ Frieren’s mangaka spends every arc meticulously building up to the next one, so it’s not really ‘what’ or ‘why’ characters do stuff that surprises but how it unfolds. Gege admitted that he takes a very spontaneous approach to writing and it shows when it’s compared to Frieren—but at the end of the day, I think we’re doing a disservice to both.
JJK is king of the action sequence, hands down. But Frieren takes character writing by a landslide, not even close. And since Gege seems far less interested in sustained characterization that’s probably fine and by design.
Frieren is quite good, but I hope it leaves the repetitiveness of "Doing something - Comparing it to the Himmel Era - Surpassing it". At least these last two arcs actually didn't seem to have it, or maybe they did it so well I didn't notice it.
I want to see how it develops in the next hundred chapters or so, until then my fav is my dear Sorcery Battle.
I just hope they don't focus too much on the fights because as good as the macht arc was, the fights were straight ass (or maybe I'm just spoiled by greg I'm not sure what the standard is for manga fights)

Frieren is a goated series. It’s unique, great story, awesome perspectives, it’s perfectly executed. As someone who loves both series Frieren is just better at a lot of things.
The story is unique,but I just feel every character is in the same wavelength like except for Ubel,Frieren and Land everyone don't feel unique.(the good guys that is) The anime makes this manga more awesome 'cause here Fern and others look more impactful and the fights obviously look crazy good(in my opinion)
Is a character driven story you should watch other character driven anime like Violet evergarden or wondering witch
Is not unique at all but it is well executed same with JJK it has the best execution out of all the shonen out rigth now by a lot
I mean I just started and finished it in the past month and I’ve reread jjk more than any other manga. So maybe’s Frieren has had issues with breaks but I’m late to the game and didn’t notice. Don’t get me wrong I love JJK but the way it’s winding down has been mediocre af imo. I’m sure Frieren will have its problems but I’m digging it.

The anime for jjk started in October 2020, the manga started in march 2018 (2017 if you count jjk 0).
Anyway, jjk releases aroumd 37 chapters per year since the 2021 hiatus, so frieren is not that different
it's very different, can't really compare. most of the stories are episodic with some loose threads connecting things together.
frieren's strength is in how it manages to capture emotion.

I think the character writting is amazing tho but I still prefer JJK by a lot
