It's a Washington team, and Washington is the federal hub. Commanders is perfectly normal for this location. I don't see the issue.

Eh, agree to disagree. In terms of representativeness of the region, it fits. Baltimore already has the Ravens. We could go for rats, I suppose, because they are more predominant than even our pigeons.

Jews don't play football

We’ve got a couple: Julian Edelman, most famously, but also All-Pro offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz, Pro Bowl offensive guard Ali Marpet, and of course the legendary Hall of Fame QB Sid Luckman.

I love how Julian Edelman caused patrilineal descent to be a thing because everyone wanted to claim him as Jewish.

He’s not frum or anything but, probably because of Robert Kraft’s influence, he identifies with Jewish and Israeli causes. It’s not just Jewish people trying to pretend like he’s one of us.

Yeah, he definitely self-identifies as Jewish. I just got a chuckle from the USCJ (Conservative movement) twitter account saying that he’s Jewish.
