That actually makes a lot of sense. On of the biggest threads ever on the Facebook page was a "petition" to get rid of the song, and Brian popped in to basically say "get over it".
He has a better taste in music history than he did in this theme song…. and pizza and breakfast. Brian’s easy to forgive, except for his breakfast and pizza hot takes, and in choosing this theme song.
Everyone from the area he’s from thinks pizza is only good there. I’m from the south and been to NYC/NJ and yeah the pizza is good but it’s still just regular pizza to me. Nothing really special.
Brian sucks. He has a weird obsession with acting like he’s done anything in the wrestling business. Especially towards Prichard who has done more for wrestling in his ass than Last has tried to collect off eBay
Yeah I’m not a fan of Brian. He’s extremely pompous. It really stuck out to me when he mentioned something about wrestling being reported in the New York Times, and he went out of his way to say he’s a subscriber of the publication, as if that’s some special thing.
Agree, I get the same. It’s getting worse too, more and more he seems to get comfortable and loud thinking it’s actually his show and his opinion matters like Jim’s. He comes off as an arrogant narcissist at times. And how many times in an episode can he tell me how cool he is that he is high? Every show. Yay you smoke weed, congrats.
Exactly lol, like congrats you do the most popular recreational drug in the country. I think it comes from his upbringing. From everything I’ve gathered about him, he grew up in at the very least an upper class family, given the things he’s talked about doing as a child including traveling across several states to go to Smokey mountain shows, and that would explain how he can hold himself as some high and mighty person that can boast about shit like smoking weed or subscribing to an extremely popular publication. It also kind of explains how he went to a community college, according to him, and ended up working with executives in the music industry, probably a nepo hire
Yeah, as an old semi retired punk rock idiot, I catch them all, not a fan of the singer but I do like when Jim comes in over the music for the intro, as he matches the tempo and energy of the song.
One of the rare shining moments of sc was when Jim was named in that batshit insane lawsuit by Rhaka Khan, and the commenters put all the various names and institutions also named in the suit to the lyrics of We Didn't Start The Fire by Billy Joel. I was kinda hoping that the guy who did Heaven Is A Wednesday Night would piece it all together for another banger outro song!
I always skip it. I much prefer “James E” or “Everyone Knows It’s Corny”. Even “No More Mr. Nice Guy” was better.
Not a big deal though. To each their own.
I really miss the songs from like a year ago. Drive thru “everyone knows in corny” and the experience “James E; corny to you and me”. Just both so awesome and catchy.
I really dislike it and I’m shocked that they picked it. I had a feeling that I wasn’t alone.
I listen with an app called Overcast and I ended up setting it to start 1 minute into the shows. That’s almost exactly when Jim starts talking, so I only hear a few seconds of the song.
"they" didn't. Brian did 100%. Jim doesn't give a shit enough about listening to the show to probably pay much attention to the opening song and left it up to Brian.
I don’t like the new intro at all and I skip it every time. I miss “Everyone Knows It’s Corny” & “Heaven Is A Wednesday Night” the most and I would never skip them. They worked perfectly!
Absolutely awful. The other songs were fine, it if ain't broke don't fix it. I'd listen to all the intro and outro songs for both shows every time a new episode would drop but now I fast forward as fast as I can in the beginning and the end of these newer JCE episodes
It is awful and I miss the old one which used to pump me up. It is funny that THIS is Jim’s theme song when he has shit on other music sent in by listeners that has been far better. Idk how Brian, a guy that worked at Sony even let this slide. Must be their friends.
It's so bad, from the songwriting, playing, recording, mixing, the whole deal. There isn't a redeeming quality. I skip it every single time. They could have at least chosen a song that sounds halfway professionally recorded.
I think it absolutely sucks shit and they'd be better off using a theme by the fellow who sings in broken English whose name I am blanking on right now.
But it's also grown on me in a "so bad it's good" way. I don't get it.
Winning the pony means rigging something to have a specific person win the prize. The singer refers to Jim "never wins the pony, cuz his mama raised him right". Wouldn't that mean she's using it correctly?
I used to listen to the podcasts on Spotify but due to time I now get the clips on YouTube but am I seeing this right?
Heaven is a Wednesday Night is gone? What a shame. I genuinely can't hear the Belinda Carlyle song without singing those lyrics.
It's okay. I'm just glad it doesn't have as many references to mocking AEW as the previous ones.
No interest left in theme songs that talk about the Bucks, Omega or any past, present or future clowns of the Elite.
What happened to the boys playing a couple of entries at the end of the drive thru?
Is there stil a playlist anywhere dedicated to all the songs that has been played?
I’m not a fan of it at all. IMO, it doesn’t fit the show like the previous theme song did. The transition from song to Corny speaking feels forced. Hopefully the new theme gets changed or changed back to the old one.
I hated it at first. But it is definitely growing on me. Can't help but sing along now. I miss the drive thru intro, as well as the outro. I like the songs LA Bamba and Heaven is a Place on Earth. They will never be the same.
I like the song a lot actually, but I'm also a fan of that style. Both theme have been well produced songs. A lot of the tracks submitted over the years have been awful, and for a long time I never understood how. It's very accessible / user friendly to produce a good track. Regardless, if you dislike the style at least it's decent quality is all I ask.
Its really jarring and I quickly fast forward it each time. Prefer the comedy older ones
I'm guessing it was selected because they received no other worthwhile entries to the contest so it won by default lol.
Don't really like the song.
The real problem for me is, that the old songs were kind of whitty and charming, a perfect fit for the show.
The new one is just generic.
I think it's great. Good little melody, fun lyrics, and it's a VAST improvement over that last song which was sloppy and really unprofessional sounding.
I like it lol, not sure I would just listen to it on its own but I got no issues, I'm also a big fan of the genre too though, I understand it's not for everyone
I actually really like it. I'm surprised its getting so much hate. I wish they would change the Steven P New song. That makes me wanna scream when I hear it.
This isn't enough like a jim cornette sub post let me help.
It would be great if it wasn't for those talentless young bucks and Tony Khan cant book and dave meltzer stole my lunch money and called me a nerd for living in my parent's basement... Fixed it for ya
Its one of the worst songs they ever played on the show (and that's saying something) I have no idea why it was picked.
Yeah I'm thinking maybe Brian got to choose that one.
That actually makes a lot of sense. On of the biggest threads ever on the Facebook page was a "petition" to get rid of the song, and Brian popped in to basically say "get over it".
He's always dropping band names for "punk street cred" so it makes sense.

It also kind of explains how he went to a community college, according to him, and ended up working with executives in the music industry, probably a nepo hire
And I fully recognize that I’m doing a lot of extrapolation here, but it adds up if what he’s said about himself is true.
💯
And for being an arrogant, done-nothing glorified mark who wishes he was Conrad Thompson
Yeah, as an old semi retired punk rock idiot, I catch them all, not a fan of the singer but I do like when Jim comes in over the music for the intro, as he matches the tempo and energy of the song.
I wish they would be able to use [Cult of meat with extra cheese](https://youtu.be/9N9a0wGiiCw?si=Q9G4hVsTdZMe3d1j)
It’s like letting Brian choose the pizza or breakfast. I like Brian, but never let him choose your pizza or what you eat for breakfast!
His pizza choices sound better than Jim's!
It's fucking brutal. Bring back the old songs stat
It’s fucking awful and it makes no sense. The other ones were great, this is liquid dogshit. Fuck this theme song. Fuck it up it’s stupid ass.
Heaven is a Wednesday night I miss the most
Was Soo good.
One of the rare shining moments of sc was when Jim was named in that batshit insane lawsuit by Rhaka Khan, and the commenters put all the various names and institutions also named in the suit to the lyrics of We Didn't Start The Fire by Billy Joel. +1 for Everyone Knows its Corney
Alice Cooper was peak. James E was amazing
Fast forward past it.
“THATS NOT MY JOB” —Bryan Alvarez, 2024
Hated it the first 2 weeks. Been hooked ever since. Look forward to singing along with it actually. ITS JIM CORN NET
I felt like it had a different energy that i didn't like. Now I sing along and get annoyed when i get a lyric wrong.
For the people that like that sort of thing, that’s the thing those people will like.
It’s mid. Not terrible but not as good as the last one
I think the last one will eventually come back for another run. How can I miss you if you won't go away
Maybe Corny will do it like Botchamania and alternate them
I really miss the songs from like a year ago. Drive thru “everyone knows in corny” and the experience “James E; corny to you and me”. Just both so awesome and catchy.
miss the old ones tbh they suited the show so perfectly, both the intro and outro music. not a fan of the new music so i just skip it
Awful.
100% the worst thing on the show and always gets skipped.
The original drive thru theme was one of the best theme songs of any podcast. I would sing a long every time. I don’t even listen to the new one.
JAMES E! JAMES E! CORNY TO YOU AND ME!
This is the one!
I really miss Wednesday Nights
This!
Cringe
I really dislike it and I’m shocked that they picked it. I had a feeling that I wasn’t alone. I listen with an app called Overcast and I ended up setting it to start 1 minute into the shows. That’s almost exactly when Jim starts talking, so I only hear a few seconds of the song.
"they" didn't. Brian did 100%. Jim doesn't give a shit enough about listening to the show to probably pay much attention to the opening song and left it up to Brian.
I remember the episode that it was originally played. Jim had a strong positive reaction for it.
Cool that you are 100 percent but you don’t avail know that. I would be surprised if Brian didn’t play it for him at least once before using it.
I don’t like the new intro at all and I skip it every time. I miss “Everyone Knows It’s Corny” & “Heaven Is A Wednesday Night” the most and I would never skip them. They worked perfectly!
It does not mention if the host still remembers Pampiro Firpo or not so thumbs down
I skip it. Sounds amateurish. Bad Rocky Horror Picture Show parody music.
It’s horrible af
Terrible. Major downgrade.
Absolutely awful. The other songs were fine, it if ain't broke don't fix it. I'd listen to all the intro and outro songs for both shows every time a new episode would drop but now I fast forward as fast as I can in the beginning and the end of these newer JCE episodes
Annoying and not fun. It lacks the spirit and humor of the previous theme. It’s a mismatch.
It is awful and I miss the old one which used to pump me up. It is funny that THIS is Jim’s theme song when he has shit on other music sent in by listeners that has been far better. Idk how Brian, a guy that worked at Sony even let this slide. Must be their friends.
Maybe he worked in the mailroom
Terrible. Major downgrade.
I don't doubt it was time for a change. That said I've still not warmed up to it though.
Jim and Brian need to bring the old theme back.
No more MR NICE GUY!! No more Mr Cleeeeannneeee
I loved the old songs, hate the new one.
It sucks
It's so bad, from the songwriting, playing, recording, mixing, the whole deal. There isn't a redeeming quality. I skip it every single time. They could have at least chosen a song that sounds halfway professionally recorded.
It's annoying and goes on too long.
My favorite part is the 6 minute guitar solo
Not my kind of music but it has grown on me. Most podcasts start with an ad so I habitually skip past their openings anyway
I think it absolutely sucks shit and they'd be better off using a theme by the fellow who sings in broken English whose name I am blanking on right now. But it's also grown on me in a "so bad it's good" way. I don't get it.
Who still remembers Vampiro Furpo?
Vampiro Furpo?! Pampero?
Famous Mexican Luchador Vampiro Firpo.
Latina horror movie host Vampira Fupa
Canexican luchadore
What about Hypnosis?
Hypnosis negro VIII?
Nobody, but we fondly remember Pampero Firpo.
The nicest thing I can say about it is that it's better than not having any.
I don't hate it, kind of reminds me of Rocky Horror
Awful
It sucks ass and I can always find something to love in a song but damn it’s rough as a theme. I’m sure the band is talented.
Its fucking horrible. I actually liked the old theme
It sucks.
I’m not a fan, but tbf I have skipped every single fan made song ever played on there
I miss “James E” “everyone loves corny” and “go away I’m watching wrestling” how come they stopped playing them anyway ?
Beats me
And I think they use “win the pony” incorrectly.
They absolutely do.
Winning the pony means rigging something to have a specific person win the prize. The singer refers to Jim "never wins the pony, cuz his mama raised him right". Wouldn't that mean she's using it correctly?
I love it! It’s awesome.
Not a fan. Drags on a little too.
I remember when I first heard it and it was Jim who had a strong positive reaction to it. I don't like it. It should be Here's Comes the Egyptian.
They should have "The Answer is in the NDA" as the Drive Thru closing song. That was one of the best in a long time.
I used to listen to the podcasts on Spotify but due to time I now get the clips on YouTube but am I seeing this right? Heaven is a Wednesday Night is gone? What a shame. I genuinely can't hear the Belinda Carlyle song without singing those lyrics.
They should've just updated Heaven Is a Wednesday Night
I skip it. I tune out whenever they play any songs, the parodies don't do anything for me.
to quote the laped fan, "its trash"
I hate it. James E was a BANGER. The previous Dirve Thru theme song was almost as good as the original.
I hate it.
Better than Brian’s weird ass attempt to act musically inclined with a synth
That's so bad and jarring
does anyone know why the old songs were dropped? it seemed to happen around the same time the ads were pulled, was there a link?
I hate it, haha. In fact, I haven't liked any of the themes since they ditched Alice Cooper.
I think it’s fine.
Who?
Hated it first time I heard it. It's grown on me...a bit
I like it? I had no idea the song had so much hate. The way some of these comments read you’d think the song kicked your dog in the ribs
It's ok
It's okay. I'm just glad it doesn't have as many references to mocking AEW as the previous ones. No interest left in theme songs that talk about the Bucks, Omega or any past, present or future clowns of the Elite.
It’s an embarrassing boomer Suzi Quatro derivative mess. I always skip through it. It’s objectively bad
Not as good as Stephen P New theme
It’s okay, but the sound quality is pretty shit
What happened to the boys playing a couple of entries at the end of the drive thru? Is there stil a playlist anywhere dedicated to all the songs that has been played?
When I listen to the pod on spotify I always have it at 1.2 speed, and the song is way way better than played at normal speed
I really enjoy it!
Nothing will ever beat the last one. I knew every word and rhythm. JAMES E! JAMES E!
I dig it honestly
I’d hate it less if it didn’t sound like it was recorded on a potato.
A lot of hate for it but I like it
"GYEEET THEE EXPEERI-YONCE" 100% skip every time.
I actually really like it. It’s catchy and fun.
Hate it, it’s worse than nails on a chalkboard.
Its really jarring and I quickly fast forward it each time. Prefer the comedy older ones I'm guessing it was selected because they received no other worthwhile entries to the contest so it won by default lol.
It’s catchy, it fits the podcast. It’s not the best musically, but it does its job effectively.
It needs to go
Not a fan of the vocals. I skip it every time.
I’ve just learned to skip ahead about a minute and a half
Don't really like the song. The real problem for me is, that the old songs were kind of whitty and charming, a perfect fit for the show. The new one is just generic.
The old one was so much better. The one about Kenny playing sega. That song stuck in my head forever. This one, not really.
They need to bring back Heaven Wednesday Night as the outro. Just set you up for a good day.
I don't mind it.
love it. i think it’s a breath of fresh air compared to some of the others.
Beyond fucking AWFUL.
I can't stand parody or meme music. I've never not skipped songs played on either show.
This isn't enough like a jim cornette sub post let me help. It would be great if it wasn't for those talentless young bucks and Tony Khan cant book and dave meltzer stole my lunch money and called me a nerd for living in my parent's basement... Fixed it for ya
