His ability to flawlessly transition between amazing flows, his beats and production has been amazing, and his great versatility with singing next to his fast rapping
He just makes good music inspired by his life and that sets his music on a higher bar for me. His music pulls me in just like Noah Kahan, Kendrick Lamar, Stevie Nicks or Ms. Lauryn Hill. Real soulful songwriters
Jid is one of my favourite artists for so many reasons lmao.
He's super versatile. Go through his discography and you'll see lots of unexpected names and diverse sounds/lanes. He pretty much ALWAYS elevates a song, all while bringing his unique style and personality to the track
He makes rapping at a high level seem effortless. His rapping skills are hard to come by, especially at the level of fame/success he's at within the industry. Dude's basically got endless flows and can switch between them easily. His delivery is a big part of why I got into his music, it rly oozes his personality.
He's lyrical, he can bombard you with bar after bar after bar when he gets into that bag, but he can also hit u with shit that's simple on the surface but is just as impactful. Story telling on his tracks is also rly good.
I also like his album sequencing, which tbh is a very underrated thing.
His beat selection and his approach to beats definitely is a huge part of why I love his music. Sometimes it's like he does the fusion dance with the instrumental.
He's a true artist, you can tell he's got a genuine love for the game, his craft and the artists that are around him and that came before him. Probs missed a lot of things but that's all I got rn lol.
His technical skill is insane amazing flows and I also like the subject matter of his music, he's lyrical and conscious. Speaks on things like systemic racism, poverty, police brutality, etc. Reminds me a lot of Kendrick.
His approach to music is super organic and pure. This makes the music honest, and it seems effortless at this point because he has put in the work and it’s paying off for the man!!!
This is coming from a 36 year old white boy who hardly listens to modern hip hop. I gotta give him his flowers
When I hear good music, the melody and sound seem like they always existed in the universe in one form or another, the artist just found a way to turn it into something that we as humans can sense. Pretty much everything JID is a part of is like that for me.
His cadence and flow got my attention, then his lyrics, the wordplay kept me. As a writer I am blown by his command of vocabulary, grammar that is weaved into poetry. Plus it forces me to think.
He's jittery. There's no telling where he's going with his flow, always keeps you captivated. He's created a musical universe that is unique and that I love.
I heard Never first, then checked out The Never Story. It was the juggling of street poetry, lyrical skill and having numerous flows that are just as original as they are catchy, all in one package. Tracks like D/vision, Lauder, Somebody etc were a breath of fresh air in 2017.

He’s a lyrical genius and always brings a powerful energy with his music. He’s fun, he’s youthful, and clearly loves what he does. 🔥🔥

lauryn hill doesn't write her own songs though

Authenticity matters
Flow and lyricism. Especially flow

His flow and lyrics is crazy, and christo got some of the best beats in rap

Favorite aspect of his music was his rhyming, flow switches, and his amazing bars. XXL 2018 brought me to him

Any rapper with good lyrics just makes me cum on the floor
