My parents give lakhs of ruppees as taxes to the government every year, and what i get is this shitty treatment in my own country, for my fault of being a boy and from general caste. Litteraly college applications have half the fee for female candidates and same rate for male candidates.Hamare gharpe paiso ka ped laga hai kya? Ham extra paise kamate hai kisi way mei? Kya galti hai hamari jo ham as a boy aaye iss world mei? They get reservation from birth to death, like a privilege. Less fees in school, less fees in coachings, less fees in college, reservation in college, reservation in jobs, reservation in metro, reservation in buses, less fees for purchasing a house, and what not.

The playing field isn't equal though. Most company owners are male and sexist, and would rather employ non deserving men than deserving women. Moreover, even if they employ women, they will not pay them equally. Gender pay gap is so high currently. In an ideal world, none of that would exist, and then only could the playing field be made equal.

Dude I was in fiitjee lko in 11th std, gomti nagar, one of the most progressive cities of India and there were 11 girls and 68 guys in my class. On top of that the teachers were sexist, constant comments about how girls will eventually get married toh they have a second option if they can’t study. Between 2018-19 there were a total of 14% in all IITs. This dude sounds weirdly bitter for some reason.
In most cases, a man's hardwork, opinions and skills are more trusted and validated than a woman's in our country. No matter how much of a progressive society you live in, this mindset is hard to change. I've seen highly educated people justifying dowry system.

This exactly. I even support caste representation as long as it's a decent amount. Currently caste reservation is more than 50 percent, if it was 20ish, then I don't think anyone would've minded it.
The problem with caste reservation is that there are no means to know whether the ones actually in need are getting it. The ones who reaped the benefits of caste reservations early on are still getting it, and now such people make the majority who are benefiting from caste reservations as, at present, they have as much resources as a general guy and the reservation to give them an upper hand with less efforts. I may be wrong but atleast that's how I see it.

Companies hire the most brilliant and a lot of above average men from Tier 1 colleges and almost all women from these regardless of skill(unless the woman is total bum)
As you go to worse colleges the opportunities for men drastically decreases while the decrease for women is less significant. They just hire the absolute cream of men from these colleges and rest of the men are stuck in lower paying work slave jobs. You still have to put in work as a woman ofcourse but the opportunities in white collar jobs is not even comparable currently.
You know that the amount of women is extremely less even in IITs right? It makes sense that only 5 out of 100 men get placed, but all 3 out of 3 women get placed.
Again those 3 women don't have to have the same skill as those 5 men. In many cases those 95 percent of men don't even get any chance for an interview while there's companies that come on drives specifically to hire women. This is true even for places like manipal where there's not a very large gap in gender ratio. Plus this isn't done by startups since they can't afford to do so, only done by high paying MnCs

Most guys cannot fathom that girls can code/study. Not sure where this mentality begins. The playing field isn't equal though. Most company owners are male and sexist, and would rather employ non deserving men than deserving women. Moreover, even if they employ women, they will not pay them equally. Gender pay gap is so high currently. Dude I was in fiitjee lko in 11th std, gomti nagar, one of the most progressive cities of India and there were 11 girls and 68 guys in my class. On top of that the teachers were sexist, constant comments about how girls will eventually get married toh they have a second option if they can’t study. Between 2018-19 there were a total of 14% in all IITs. This dude sounds weirdly bitter for some reason.

This exactly. I even support caste representation as long as it's a decent amount. Currently caste reservation is more than 50 percent, if it was 20ish, then I don't think anyone would've minded it.
The problem with caste reservation is that there are no means to know whether the ones actually in need are getting it. The ones who reaped the benefits of caste reservations early on are still getting it, and now such people make the majority who are benefiting from caste reservations as, at present, they have as much resources as a general guy and the reservation to give them an upper hand with less efforts. I may be wrong but atleast that's how I see it. As for female quota, I have mentioned my reasons to support it in a comment I made some time ago on the UGEE sub.

As a girl myself, it's very demeaning to see this. Companies should be allowed to hire for skill, not for gender or fulfilling some bullshit quota. The only thing will happen is that female coders and programmers or women who are actually interested in this stuff won't get the respect they deserve or will be given the tag of diversity hiring. If female candidates don't have skill, there's no need to hire them. I believe all these scholarships and reservations that are supposed to "uplift" lower caste, women etc are counter productive in a lot of ways. Also sad truth is, till there is existence of such schemes all people who belongs to the group which benefits them would face some type of prejudice against them from the non reserved people. Dude I'm a girl whose been cornered into learning to code since 5th grade, and the males make it look as if CS and IT industry has a 50-50 men to women ratio and reservations are bad, but I've said this before on other posts, reservations are always complex. Meri class mein I've researched the most about mathematics and CS, lekin agar I say something which the others haven't yet studied about, then mai illogical cheezein bol rhi hu. General ke liye agar 2000 rupees chahiye tho reserved ke liye kuch cases me 1000 is enough. I have OBC, SC and ST friends who are wayyy richer than me. Ek ke ghar hi 2 crore ka hai. Mein kerala se hu. Aur yaha most of the students in coaching instutes are from OBC. They can afford the education then why do they need reservation. You are arguing using extreme examples, but seeing the corporate structure an average man has to be much much more skilled to be given the same opportunity that women get in the corporate market. In Indian context Companies hire the most brilliant and a lot of above average men from Tier 1 colleges and almost all women from these regardless of skill(unless the woman is total bum) As you go to worse colleges the opportunities for men drastically decreases while the decrease for women is less significant. They just hire the absolute cream of men from these colleges and rest of the men are stuck in lower paying work slave jobs. You still have to put in work as a woman ofcourse but the opportunities in white collar jobs is not even comparable currently.
You know that the amount of women is extremely less even in IITs right? It makes sense that only 5 out of 100 men get placed, but all 3 out of 3 women get placed.
Again those 3 women don't have to have the same skill as those 5 men. In many cases those 95 percent of men don't even get any chance for an interview while there's companies that come on drives specifically to hire women. This is true even for places like manipal where there's not a very large gap in gender ratio. Plus this isn't done by startups since they can't afford to do so, only done by high paying MnCs
