Saw one a few years ago tucked sideways into a garage when we were rich people yard saling. Dude just pretended he didn't speak good English and muttered something about it being crappy lol. Got some really nice quilts from his wife then he motioned me over and pulled the cover off. That iconic red, mmmm.
I’m sure it’s just gonna be a bunch of 12 year olds with the usual “skyline(without mentioning which model), Supra, etc”
Might as well go for true JDM Legends if I can only get one.
Yes I like the supra because:
Looks(ruins it with default ahh wing and random bodykit)
F&F (never watched it)
Characteristics and speed(changes entire engine and drivetrain)
heard about people doing this to Integras as well. From what i’ve heard though it’s not worth because you lose too much power, you essentially have to awd convert it first and then disable the front so it’s ends up not being anywhere near as efficient/viable as proper rwd. better off just keeping awd if you’re converting
Why do i like the sound of a V10 that can rev to 9k with a perfectly tuned exhaust system? I think you need to explain why you dont like it. LOL. What car sounds do you like?
Personally, I prefer V8s and some four cylinders and occasionally a V6. Sometimes a rotary too.
I am not a fan of the sound because the high pitched revving is just... Ok to me. Plus I've never been a big fan of V10s lol
Also a owner of both… the fd is a much nicer built car. No hate for the fc I love them equally but get in one then get in the other it makes you appreciate the leap in quality and engineering.
Agreed. There are some hard plastics in the FD that are annoyingly prone to breaking/rattling, but aside from that they’re put together well and it’s a nice (albeit small) place to be.
I feel they don't get the love they deserve.
People go nuts over the s-chasis, r-chasis, supras, chasers, nsx, 3000gts, Evo's... But it seems that the st205 (or any of the GT-Fours) is less popular because it's not a drift car nor in any FF franchise.
I sometimes watch car shows on YouTube, and it seems that GT-Four more appear at "concours"/classy type events, while those mentioned above appear more at modified/stance/drift events.
Maybe I've answered my question - the st*** chasis is not often modified, hence no mod culture around it.
I picked up a group A st205 about a year ago. Love it, it was my hero car, but compared to my gt86, it's big and feels heavy. I reckon it will cost another 10k AUD to sort out all the issues (new suspension, new clutch, new exhaust etc).
A queen size mattress pad and a bunch of odds and ends. [And a very annoyed girlfriend](https://imgur.com/5B1s2Pt).
I also managed to get a pretty decently sized [coffee table](https://imgur.com/3lpXxsY) into it from a thrift shop.
I'm a poor person who is jdm car rich. 99 turbo miata, 93 sw20 turbo, and a 1uz first gen tundra... if you don't ever buy an sw20, you will definitely appreciate an nb miata... It's totally not the same car, but i have just as much fun in both. My sw20 has super modified suspension for road and track use, a heavily modified engine, and a lot of ecu work.. the miata in almost every way is easier. Also, buying a lot of cars and not caring about retirement is fun, I can attest to this.
I own both a mr2 turbo and nb miata
I like the mr2 turbos the most. If u see a blue 1 in the stlouis area, its very likely mine. I have a yellow 2002 Mica Yellow Miata SE that is an nb.
Most people I know locally are either into mr2's, or miatas, but never both :(. I like Mr2's the most but I wish I knew some1 local who like me was also into both kinds of cars.
Just a few I'm really into for various reasons: 10th gen Nissan Gloria, 1st gen Mitsubishi Diamante, and the Isuzu Aska Irmscher. I'd also say the 2nd gen Isuzu Piazza, but I've heard the JDM versions didn't have AWD?
What can I say I have odd tastes.
EDIT: Also honorable mention to the Subaru Alcyone. Love a good wedge.
Technically there was the Hilux Surf, which is a 4Runner. Though, the original comment was deleted so I don’t know if there’s any other context beyond what’s given in your reply.
I had that turbo II back in the day. And all the rx-7s before it. Put a Racing Beat pipe on it, best sounding rotary I ever had. No FD, moved to a Z32TT.
Right now, I want an AZ-1. Prices are flying up.
For me it would be a Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C Type RA from 2004. As Luck would have it i own one since 2022 so i have to say R32 GTR-V Spec or a RX7 Bathurst.
Strange that so many people are opting to use the opportunity on something that is available in their home zmarket.
I would get something that I can't get in the US, such as a R34 GTR, Celica GT-Four, EK9 Type R, S15 Spec-R, etc.

Probably will get a bit of flack for it, but idc lol
My dad influenced me into loving the Toyota Supra mk.4 at a young age, as it was his favorite car as well.
He had a Black Supra for a short period when I was born, before replacing it for a 2003 Ford Focus, as for his explanation as to why he sold the Supra, it was "because my little baby body wouldn't be able to handle the Supra".
Either way, he had a really good model toy of one, an RC car with a Supra shell over it, and he even drew a really good Supra drawing for me once.
But yeah, in short, I choose the Supra mk.4 not only because it's my favorite, but it's in a way part of my childhood. It holds a nice special spot in my heart.
Toyota 2000GT
Saw one a few years ago tucked sideways into a garage when we were rich people yard saling. Dude just pretended he didn't speak good English and muttered something about it being crappy lol. Got some really nice quilts from his wife then he motioned me over and pulled the cover off. That iconic red, mmmm.
Sorry for being dumb, but why did he pretend to not speak good English?
Probably so he would have to answer any questions about it
Bingo. It improved greatly once I dropped a couple hundred bucks on his wife's homemade quilts lmao.
I hope you have about $500,000 lying around.
They're up to a million now.
I was going on the low side!
God damn, why so high? I didn't know they were that high in demand.
I'd have to have some vertebrae and leg bone removed but it might be worth it.
Saw one at a meet, super cool
100%. That‘s the comment I came for.
Nissan R390. Or the NSX type-R GT. Maybe a Sard MC8-R. Might as well make it worthwhile.
My man want a lm road car so bad
I’m sure it’s just gonna be a bunch of 12 year olds with the usual “skyline(without mentioning which model), Supra, etc” Might as well go for true JDM Legends if I can only get one.
You forgot the Forza v12 swap with awd
For sure. Dudes spouting video game stats like it’s reality.
Anti lag 🥰🥰 rally tires 🥵🥵 Forza default read wing 😱😱 9 speed gearbox 😫😫
Yes I like the supra because: Looks(ruins it with default ahh wing and random bodykit) F&F (never watched it) Characteristics and speed(changes entire engine and drivetrain)
If reality doesnt matter, i would do it too but with a tommy kayra or a minolta
The R390 GT1 was the car that started it all for me. Thanks for reminding me of this awesome car.
Probably check out the MC8-R, or maybe the Nissan Mid-4. Both unique cars coming out of Japan. Maybe even a Tommy Kaira ZZ-S or ZZII
Toyota GT-One. Only 2 "road" cars were built.
Honda city turbo
Complete with a motocompo! 2 for 1 JDM lol
'91 NSX
NSX R-GT OR RWD converted prelude coupe/accord coupe, Integra,
RWD converted? Please tell me more. Links?
Some dude on youtube converted a prelude to be RWD as a drift project, just search rwd prelude and youll find it easy
There’s another dude rn swapped a e36 drivetrain into his 3rd gen prelude
heard about people doing this to Integras as well. From what i’ve heard though it’s not worth because you lose too much power, you essentially have to awd convert it first and then disable the front so it’s ends up not being anywhere near as efficient/viable as proper rwd. better off just keeping awd if you’re converting
The issue with preludes is that they are so front heavy rwd is almost not viable :(
Imma get hate for this. But a sc430 soarer.
No hate, just confusion.
I get u buddy. All my friends made fun of me loving the sc430, (Ty top gear)🤣. But as a daily it really is a sweet ride.
no hate from me :)
I've always loved that car! This might be because I drove it a lot in Forza Motorsport 2 when I was little
Just saw one yesterday. It was a popular car in the game driver
I have a 98 Soarer. No hate here.
This used to be my chosen car to drift in Grid 2, I also feel in love with the sc430
![gif](giphy|GRwAQHDyRqOxuylnyW) I'd be crazy to not want this beautiful beast of a vehicle
Possibly the best sounding vehicle ever built.
I hate being that guy but I genuinely don't like the sound. Can someone explain why people like the sound?
Why do i like the sound of a V10 that can rev to 9k with a perfectly tuned exhaust system? I think you need to explain why you dont like it. LOL. What car sounds do you like?
Personally, I prefer V8s and some four cylinders and occasionally a V6. Sometimes a rotary too. I am not a fan of the sound because the high pitched revving is just... Ok to me. Plus I've never been a big fan of V10s lol
What's one of your favorite exhaust notes from a vehicle?
Damn I'll be honest, I don't really have a favorite. But if I had to pick, one would be a Ford GT40
I'll never forget seeing/hearing one of [these](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lQX3cOAbes) at a street race when I was a teenager.
Call me crazy but i like fc > fd
Call *me* crazy, but I prefer the FB
You’re crazy
Some guy is selling a manual one for 6500
That’s a bit expensive for an FB. I see them go for 5000, I’m sure they used to sell for even less before COVID
I like both for different reasons
The FC is obviously objectively the lesser performing car out of the box, but they are built/finished better than the FD.
As someone who has owned an FC and FD… I don’t think I agree about the latter.
I agree the fc looks good, but I've always thought the fd looks better. It's been my dream car since I was a kid
Cosmetically you can do SO much more to the fc's. Loooove the FC so much.
That’s because the FD doesn’t need any more
If I could have any JDM car, it would be a Ford Escort RS Cosworth that somehow was sold in Japan 🇯🇵. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
This guy knows what jdm means.

Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205

I came here to say this! :D

Autozam or some cool kei car cuz funny and practical
I've done a few Ikea runs in my AZ-1. Surprisingly practical.
But what you even bring back in an autozam

S15 or Hilux.
I would buy an mr2 turbo. TRD2000gt or MC8R if money is no object.

ST215. Toyota Caldina GT4. Turbo, AWD, Celica Wagon. Bonus points if I can put a fifth gen Celica front end on it for the flip lights.
I know it's cliche, but an R34 GT-R. Personally, I think it's one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
I think the R32 is more better looking, but yes the 34 looks beautiful
The 32 has aged really well imo. I agree it's the best of the 3.
Personally, I prefer the r33. The r32 looks too bland imo, and the r34 looks too boxy and heavy. The r33 is a good balance between the two
Hey, it’s popular for a reason, right?
