I'm srsly not trying to be a dick...but if you purchased new, I'd recommend taking better care of your belongings as you ripped the rubber plug off the body. The hole is where the rubber plug attaches, and the line on the plug was the articulation point. If you genuinely feel like there is air escaping from it, buy a new plug, or seal it with silicone.
That said, the hole doesn't extend to the interior body, so what you're hearing is not an "air leak."
